⁷ And they warred against Midian as LORD commanded Moses, and they killed every male.

¹³ And when LORD thy God delivers it into thy hand, thou shall smite every male of it with the edge of the sword, ¹⁴ but the women, and the little ones, and the cattle, and all that is in the city, even all the spoil of it, thou shall take for a prey to thyself. And thou shall eat the spoil of thine enemies, which LORD thy God has given thee.

¹ And the sons of Israel did that which was evil in the sight of LORD, and LORD delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years. ² And the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel. And because of Midian the sons of Israel made for themselves the dens which are in the mountains, and the caves, and the strongholds.

³³ Then all the Midianites and the Amalekites and the sons of the east assembled themselves together. And they passed over, and encamped in the valley of Jezreel.

¹¹ And this is the thing that ye shall do: Ye shall utterly destroy every male, and every woman that has lain by man.

⁹ And David smote the land, and saved neither man nor woman alive, and took away the sheep, and the oxen, and the donkeys, and the camels, and the apparel, and he returned, and came to Achish.
