⁹ Thus says LORD of hosts: Let your hands be strong, ye who hear in these days these words from the mouth of the prophets who were in the day that the foundation of the house of LORD of hosts was laid, even the temple, that it might be built.

⁶ Be strong and of good courage, for thou shall cause this people to inherit the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.

⁸ This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shall meditate on it day and night, that thou may observe to do according to all that is written in it, for then thou shall make thy way prosperous, and then thou shall have good success.

¹³ Then thou shall prosper, if thou observe to do the statutes and the ordinances which LORD charged Moses with concerning Israel. Be strong, and of good courage. Fear not, neither be dismayed.

²⁰ And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it. Fear not, nor be dismayed, for LORD God, even my God, is with thee. He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until all the work for the service of the house of LORD be finished.

¹ Now the prophets, Haggai the prophet, and Zechariah the son of Iddo, prophesied to the Jews who were in Judah and Jerusalem, in the name of the God of Israel, to them. ² Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, rose up and began to build the house of God which is at Jerusalem, and with them were the prophets of God, helping them.

⁴ Say to those who are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not. Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you.

¹ In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, the word of LORD came by Haggai the prophet to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, saying,

¹² Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of LORD their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as LORD their God had sent him. And the people feared before LORD.

⁴ Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, says LORD, and be strong, O Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and be strong, all ye people of the land, says LORD, and work. For I am with you, says LORD of hosts, ⁵ according to the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, and my Spirit abode among you. Fear ye not. ⁶ For thus says LORD of hosts: Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land. ⁷ And I will shake all nations, and the precious things of all nations shall come, and I will fill this house with glory, says LORD of hosts. ⁸ The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, says LORD of hosts. ⁹ The latter glory of this house shall be greater than the former, says LORD of hosts, and in this place I will give peace, says LORD of hosts.

²¹ Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I will shake the heavens and the earth.

¹³ And it shall come to pass that, as ye were a curse among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so I will save you, and ye shall be a blessing. Fear not. Let your hands be strong.

¹⁸ And the word of LORD of hosts came to me, saying,

¹⁰ Finally my brothers, be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might.

¹ Thou therefore, my child, be strong in the grace in Christ Jesus.
