⁹ Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus said the LORD; Say, A sword, a sword is sharpened, and also furbished:

⁴¹ If I whet my glittering sword, and my hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to my enemies, and will reward them that hate me. ⁴² I will make my arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; and that with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges on the enemy.

²⁵ It is drawn, and comes out of the body; yes, the glittering sword comes out of his gall: terrors are on him.

¹¹ God judges the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day. ¹² If he turn not, he will whet his sword; he has bent his bow, and made it ready. ¹³ He has also prepared for him the instruments of death; he ordains his arrows against the persecutors.

²⁸ And you, son of man, prophesy and say, Thus said the Lord GOD concerning the Ammonites, and concerning their reproach; even say you, The sword, the sword is drawn: for the slaughter it is furbished, to consume because of the glittering:

⁴ And though they go into captivity before their enemies, there will I command the sword, and it shall slay them: and I will set my eyes on them for evil, and not for good.
