⁴ And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach to heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad on the face of the whole earth.

⁴ There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

⁸ So the LORD scattered them abroad from there on the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. ⁹ Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from there did the LORD scatter them abroad on the face of all the earth.

²⁸ Where shall we go up? our brothers have discouraged our heart, saying, The people is greater and taller than we; the cities are great and walled up to heaven; and moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakims there.

²⁷ And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and you shall be left few in number among the heathen, where the LORD shall lead you.

⁷ The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.

¹¹ The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached to heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth:

²² It is you, O king, that are grown and become strong: for your greatness is grown, and reaches to heaven, and your dominion to the end of the earth.

³⁰ The king spoke, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honor of my majesty?

⁵¹ He has showed strength with his arm; he has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.

⁴⁴ How can you believe, which receive honor one of another, and seek not the honor that comes from God only?
