¹² His strength shall be extremely hungry, and destruction shall be ready at his side.

⁵ They that were full have hired out themselves for bread; and they that were hungry ceased: so that the barren has born seven; and she that has many children is waxed feeble.

³⁶ And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left in your house shall come and crouch to him for a piece of silver and a morsel of bread, and shall say, Put me, I pray you, into one of the priests' offices, that I may eat a piece of bread.

²³ He wanders abroad for bread, saying, Where is it? he knows that the day of darkness is ready at his hand. ²⁴ Trouble and anguish shall make him afraid; they shall prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle.

¹² If he turn not, he will whet his sword; he has bent his bow, and made it ready. ¹³ He has also prepared for him the instruments of death; he ordains his arrows against the persecutors. ¹⁴ Behold, he travails with iniquity, and has conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.

¹⁰ The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.

¹⁰ Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places.

²¹ And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward.

³ For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction comes on them, as travail on a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

³ And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingers not, and their damnation slumbers not.
