²⁵ These things have I spoken to you in proverbs: but the time comes, when I shall no more speak to you in proverbs, but I shall show you plainly of the Father.

⁴ I will incline my ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying on the harp.

² I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:

⁶ To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.

¹⁰ And the disciples came, and said to him, Why speak you to them in parables? ¹¹ He answered and said to them, Because it is given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

³⁴ All these things spoke Jesus to the multitude in parables; and without a parable spoke he not to them: ³⁵ That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.

¹³ And he said to them, Know you not this parable? and how then will you know all parables?

⁶ This parable spoke Jesus to them: but they understood not what things they were which he spoke to them.

² They shall put you out of the synagogues: yes, the time comes, that whoever kills you will think that he does God service.

¹² I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.

¹⁶ A little while, and you shall not see me: and again, a little while, and you shall see me, because I go to the Father. ¹⁷ Then said some of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he said to us, A little while, and you shall not see me: and again, a little while, and you shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father?

²⁸ I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father. ²⁹ His disciples said to him, See, now speak you plainly, and speak no proverb.

³³ Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he has shed forth this, which you now see and hear. ³⁴ For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he said himself, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit you on my right hand, ³⁵ Until I make your foes your footstool. ³⁶ Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God has made the same Jesus, whom you have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

¹² Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech: ¹³ And not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel could not steadfastly look to the end of that which is abolished: ¹⁴ But their minds were blinded: for until this day remains the same veil not taken away in the reading of the old testament; which veil is done away in Christ. ¹⁵ But even to this day, when Moses is read, the veil is on their heart. ¹⁶ Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away. ¹⁷ Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. ¹⁸ But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the LORD.

² But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
