¹² Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the LORD will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the LORD said.

²⁸ Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there.

³³ And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

⁸ If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which flows with milk and honey. ⁹ Only rebel not you against the LORD, neither fear you the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defense is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not.

³⁴ And the LORD said to Moses, Fear him not: for I have delivered him into your hand, and all his people, and his land; and you shall do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, which dwelled at Heshbon.

²¹ And at that time came Joshua, and cut off the Anakims from the mountains, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel: Joshua destroyed them utterly with their cities. ²² There was none of the Anakims left in the land of the children of Israel: only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, there remained.

¹⁴ And Caleb drove there the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.

²⁰ And they gave Hebron to Caleb, as Moses said: and he expelled there the three sons of Anak.

⁶ And Jonathan said to the young man that bore his armor, Come, and let us go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised: it may be that the LORD will work for us: for there is no restraint to the LORD to save by many or by few.

¹ The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? ² When the wicked, even my enemies and my foes, came on me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. ³ Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

³ For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but your right hand, and your arm, and the light of your countenance, because you had a favor to them.

¹² Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.

¹⁰ All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD will I destroy them. ¹¹ They compassed me about; yes, they compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD I will destroy them. ¹² They compassed me about like bees: they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.

³¹ What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

¹³ I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.

³³ Who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions.
