³⁰ And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias:

³ And, behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elias talking with him. ⁴ Then answered Peter, and said to Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if you will, let us make here three tabernacles; one for you, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.

⁴ And there appeared to them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus. ⁵ And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for you, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. ⁶ For he knew not what to say; for they were sore afraid.

¹⁷ And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

¹⁹ They answering said, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others say, that one of the old prophets is risen again.

²⁷ And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded to them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

⁴⁴ And he said to them, These are the words which I spoke to you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

¹⁷ For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

²¹ But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; ²² Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ to all and on all them that believe: for there is no difference: ²³ For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

⁷ But if the ministration of death, written and engraved in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not steadfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: ⁸ How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious? ⁹ For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more does the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. ¹⁰ For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excels. ¹¹ For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remains is glorious.

³ For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who has built the house has more honor than the house. ⁴ For every house is built by some man; but he that built all things is God. ⁵ And Moses truly was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after; ⁶ But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.

¹⁷ Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. ¹⁸ And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
