¹³ Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

³ The great temptations which your eyes have seen, the signs, and those great miracles: ⁴ Yet the LORD has not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, to this day.

¹⁸ Hear, you deaf; and look, you blind, that you may see. ¹⁹ Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? who is blind as he that is perfect, and blind as the LORD's servant? ²⁰ Seeing many things, but you observe not; opening the ears, but he hears not.

¹⁸ They have not known nor understood: for he has shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand.

²¹ Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not:

² Son of man, you dwell in the middle of a rebellious house, which have eyes to see, and see not; they have ears to hear, and hear not: for they are a rebellious house.

¹⁶ But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.

¹⁷ And when Jesus knew it, he said to them, Why reason you, because you have no bread? perceive you not yet, neither understand? have you your heart yet hardened? ¹⁸ Having eyes, see you not? and having ears, hear you not? and do you not remember?

¹⁹ And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. ²⁰ For every one that does evil hates the light, neither comes to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

³⁹ And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind. ⁴⁰ And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said to him, Are we blind also? ⁴¹ Jesus said to them, If you were blind, you should have no sin: but now you say, We see; therefore your sin remains.

³ But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: ⁴ In whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine to them.
