²⁷ God is the LORD, which has showed us light: bind the sacrifice with cords, even to the horns of the altar.

²¹ And Elijah came to all the people, and said, How long halt you between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

²¹ And they sacrificed sacrifices to the LORD, and offered burnt offerings to the LORD, on the morrow after that day, even a thousand bullocks, a thousand rams, and a thousand lambs, with their drink offerings, and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel:

¹⁶ The Jews had light, and gladness, and joy, and honor.

²⁸ For you will light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.

⁶ And he shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your judgment as the noonday.

¹⁸ Do good in your good pleasure to Zion: build you the walls of Jerusalem. ¹⁹ Then shall you be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks on your altar.

² The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, on them has the light shined.

¹ Arise, shine; for your light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen on you.

⁹ I will bear the indignation of the LORD, because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness.

² But to you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and you shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

¹² Then spoke Jesus again to them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

¹⁵ By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

⁹ But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light;
