³⁷ For their heart was not right with him, neither were they steadfast in his covenant.

²⁰ For when I shall have brought them into the land which I swore to their fathers, that flows with milk and honey; and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and waxen fat; then will they turn to other gods, and serve them, and provoke me, and break my covenant.

¹⁷ All this is come on us; yet have we not forgotten you, neither have we dealt falsely in your covenant. ¹⁸ Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from your way;

¹⁰ Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

⁸ And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not steadfast with God.

⁸⁰ Let my heart be sound in your statutes; that I be not ashamed.

¹⁴ And they have not cried to me with their heart, when they howled on their beds: they assemble themselves for corn and wine, and they rebel against me.

¹⁶ They return, but not to the most High: they are like a deceitful bow: their princes shall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue: this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.

² Their heart is divided; now shall they be found faulty: he shall break down their altars, he shall spoil their images.

²¹ You have neither part nor lot in this matter: for your heart is not right in the sight of God.
