³ Surely he shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

¹⁵ So the LORD sent a pestilence on Israel from the morning even to the time appointed: and there died of the people from Dan even to Beersheba seventy thousand men.

³⁷ If there be in the land famine, if there be pestilence, blasting, mildew, locust, or if there be caterpillar; if their enemy besiege them in the land of their cities; whatever plague, whatever sickness there be;

¹⁰ Who gives rain on the earth, and sends waters on the fields: ¹¹ To set up on high those that be low; that those which mourn may be exalted to safety. ¹² He disappoints the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise. ¹³ He takes the wise in their own craftiness: and the counsel of the fraudulent is carried headlong. ¹⁴ They meet with darkness in the day time, and grope in the noonday as in the night. ¹⁵ But he saves the poor from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty. ¹⁶ So the poor has hope, and iniquity stops her mouth. ¹⁷ Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects: therefore despise not you the chastening of the Almighty: ¹⁸ For he makes sore, and binds up: he wounds, and his hands make whole. ¹⁹ He shall deliver you in six troubles: yes, in seven there shall no evil touch you. ²⁰ In famine he shall redeem you from death: and in war from the power of the sword. ²¹ You shall be hid from the whip of the tongue: neither shall you be afraid of destruction when it comes. ²² At destruction and famine you shall laugh: neither shall you be afraid of the beasts of the earth.

⁶ Nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness; nor for the destruction that wastes at noonday.

⁷ Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.

⁹ Keep me from the snares which they have laid for me, and the gins of the workers of iniquity.

⁵ Deliver yourself as a roe from the hand of the hunter, and as a bird from the hand of the fowler.

²³ Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hastens to the snare, and knows not that it is for his life.

¹² For man also knows not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falls suddenly on them.

⁸ The watchman of Ephraim was with my God: but the prophet is a snare of a fowler in all his ways, and hatred in the house of his God.

⁵ Can a bird fall in a snare on the earth, where no gin is for him? shall one take up a snare from the earth, and have taken nothing at all?

⁹ But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

²⁶ And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
