³ Shall vain words have an end?
Or what provoketh thee that thou answerest?

²⁶ Do ye think to reprove words,
Seeing that the speeches of one that is desperate are as wind?

² How long wilt thou speak these things?
And [how long] shall the words of thy mouth be [like] a mighty wind?

² Should a wise man make answer with vain knowledge,
And fill himself with the east wind?

³ I have heard the reproof which putteth me to shame;
And the spirit of my understanding answereth me.

³ Also against his three friends was his wrath kindled, because they had found no answer, and yet had condemned Job. ⁴ Now Elihu had waited to speak unto Job, because they were elder than he. ⁵ And when Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of these three men, his wrath was kindled.
⁶ And Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered and said,
I am young, and ye are very old;
Wherefore I held back, and durst not show you mine opinion.

⁴⁶ And no one was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.
