⁶ Would he contend with me in the greatness of his power?
Nay; but he would give heed unto me.

⁴ [He is] wise in heart, and mighty in strength:
Who hath hardened himself against him, and prospered?—

¹⁹ If [we speak] of strength, lo, [he is] mighty!
And if of justice, Who, [saith he], will summon me?

³³ There is no umpire betwixt us,
That might lay his hand upon us both. ³⁴ Let him take his rod away from me,
And let not his terror make me afraid:

²¹ Withdraw thy hand far from me;
And let not thy terror make me afraid.

³ In the day that I called thou answeredst me,
Thou didst encourage me with strength in my soul.

⁴ Wrath is not in me: would that the briers and thorns were against me in battle! I would march upon them, I would burn them together.

⁸ In measure, when thou sendest them away, thou dost contend with them; he hath removed [them] with his rough blast in the day of the east wind.

³³ As I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, surely with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out, will I be king over you.

³⁵ and I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there will I enter into judgment with you face to face.

⁹ And he hath said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for [my] power is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. ¹⁰ Wherefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
