¹² Let her not, I pray, be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he cometh out of his mother's womb.

¹⁶ Or as a hidden untimely birth I had not been,
As infants that never saw light.

⁸ [Let them be] as a snail which melteth and passeth away,
[Like] the untimely birth of a woman, that hath not seen the sun.

⁴ I am reckoned with them that go down into the pit;
I am as a man that hath no help, ⁵ Cast off among the dead,
Like the slain that lie in the grave,
Whom thou rememberest no more,
And they are cut off from thy hand.

⁸ and last of all, as to the [child] untimely born, he appeared to me also.

¹ And you [did he make alive], when ye were dead through your trespasses and sins, ² wherein ye once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the powers of the air, of the spirit that now worketh in the sons of disobedience; ³ among whom we also all once lived in the lusts of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest:— ⁴ but God, being rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, ⁵ even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace have ye been saved),

¹³ And you, being dead through your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, you, [I say], did he make alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses;

⁶ But she that giveth herself to pleasure is dead while she liveth.
