¹⁸ For it is a pleasant thing if thou keep them within thee,
If they be established together upon thy lips.

¹⁸ For I am full of words;
The spirit within me constraineth me. ¹⁹ Behold, my breast is as wine which hath no vent;
Like new wine-skins it is ready to burst.

¹⁰ More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold;
Sweeter also than honey and the droppings of the honeycomb.

¹³ With my lips have I declared
All the ordinances of thy mouth.

¹⁰³ How sweet are thy words unto my taste!
[Yea, sweeter] than honey to my mouth!

¹¹¹ Thy testimonies have I taken as a heritage for ever;
For they are the rejoicing of my heart.

¹⁶² I rejoice at thy word,
As one that findeth great spoil.

For thou teachest me thy statutes.

¹⁰ For wisdom shall enter into thy heart,
And knowledge shall be pleasant unto thy soul;

And all her paths are peace.

⁶ Hear, for I will speak excellent things;
And the opening of my lips shall be right things.

¹³ In the lips of him that hath discernment wisdom is found;
But a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.

²¹ The lips of the righteous feed many;
But the foolish die for lack of understanding.

⁷ The lips of the wise disperse knowledge;
But the heart of the foolish [doeth] not so.

²¹ The wise in heart shall be called prudent;
And the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning.

¹³ My son, eat thou honey, for it is good;
And the droppings of the honeycomb, which are sweet to thy taste: ¹⁴ So shalt thou know wisdom to be unto thy soul;
If thou hast found it, then shall there be a reward,
And thy hope shall not be cut off.

¹¹ A word fitly spoken
Is [like] apples of gold in network of silver.

¹⁶ Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy words were unto me a joy and the rejoicing of my heart: for I am called by thy name, O Jehovah, God of hosts.

⁷ For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth; for he is the messenger of Jehovah of hosts.

³⁸ He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, from within him shall flow rivers of living water.}

¹⁵ Through him then let us offer up a sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of lips which make confession to his name.
