⁵ Trust in Jehovah with all thy heart,
And lean not upon thine own understanding:

¹⁵ Behold, he will slay me; I have no hope:
Nevertheless I will maintain my ways before him.

³ Trust in Jehovah, and do good;
Dwell in the land, and feed on [his] faithfulness.

⁵ Commit thy way unto Jehovah;
Trust also in him, and he will bring it to pass.

⁷ Rest in Jehovah, and wait patiently for him:
Fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way,
Because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

⁸ Trust in him at all times, ye people;
Pour out your heart before him:

⁹ O Israel, trust thou in Jehovah:
He is their help and their shield. ¹⁰ O house of Aaron, trust ye in Jehovah:

They that trust in Jehovah
Are as mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abideth for ever.

³ Put not your trust in princes,
Nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. ⁴ His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth;
In that very day his thoughts perish. ⁵ Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help,
Whose hope is in Jehovah his God:

⁷ Be not wise in thine own eyes;
Fear Jehovah, and depart from evil:

¹⁹ That thy trust may be in Jehovah,
I have made [them] known to thee this day, even to thee.

⁴ Weary not thyself to be rich;
Cease from thine own wisdom.

²⁶ He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool;
But whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.

² Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for Jehovah, [even] Jehovah, is my strength and song; and he is become my salvation.

³ Thou wilt keep [him] in perfect peace, [whose] mind [is] stayed [on thee]; because he trusteth in thee. ⁴ Trust ye in Jehovah for ever; for in Jehovah, [even] Jehovah, is an everlasting rock.

²³ Thus saith Jehovah, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches;

²³ O Jehovah, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

⁷ Blessed is the man that trusteth in Jehovah, and whose trust Jehovah is. ⁸ For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, that spreadeth out its roots by the river, and shall not fear when heat cometh, but its leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

¹⁶ Be of the same mind one toward another. Set not your mind on high things, but condescend to things that are lowly. Be not wise in your own conceits.

¹⁸ Let no man deceive himself. If any man thinketh that he is wise among you in this world, let him become a fool, that he may become wise. ¹⁹ For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He that taketh the wise in their craftiness: ²⁰ and again, The Lord knoweth the reasonings of the wise, that they are vain.

¹ Now concerning things sacrificed to idols: We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but love edifieth. ² If any man thinketh that he knoweth anything, he knoweth not yet as he ought to know;

¹² to the end that we should be unto the praise of his glory, we who had before hoped in Christ:
