Acts 13:18 Cross References - Anderson

18 And for about forty years, he cherished them in the wilderness.

Acts 7:36

36 He brought them out, after he had performed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and at the Red Sea, and in the wilderness, forty years.

Acts 7:39-43

39 To him our fathers were not willing to be obedient; but they rejected him, and turned back in their hearts to Egypt, 40 saying to Aaron: Make us gods that shall go be fore us; for, as for this Moses, who brought us out of the land of Egypt, we know not what has become of him. 41 And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice to the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands. 42 But God turned and delivered them up to serve the host of heaven, as it is written in the book of the prophets: Your victims and your sacrifices did you offer to me for forty years in the wilderness, house of Israel? 43 Yes, you took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your God Remphan, images which you made to worship; and I will carry you away beyond Babylon.

1 Corinthians 10:1-10

1 Now, brethren, I do not wish you to be ignorant, that all our fathers were under the cloud, and that all passed through the sea, 2 and were all immersed into Moses, in the cloud and in the sea; 3 and did all eat the same spiritual food, 4 and. did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was the Christ. 5 But with the most of them God was not well pleased, for they were overthrown in the wilderness. 6 Now these things took place as examples for us, that we should not desire evil things, as they, also, desired. 7 Neither be you idolaters, as some of them were, as it is written: Tho people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to engage in idolatrous sport. 8 Nor let us be guilty of lewdness, as some of them were guilty, and fell, in one day, twenty-three thou sand. 9 Nor let us tempt the Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents. 10 Nor do you murmur, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed by the destroyer.

Hebrews 3:7-10

7 Wherefore, as the Holy Spirit says: To-day, if you will hear his voice, 8 harden not your hearts, as in the bitter provocation, in the day of trial in the wilderness, 9 where your fathers tried me, proved me, and saw my works forty years. 10 Where fore, I was angry with that generation, and said, They do always err in their heart, and they have not known my ways:

Hebrews 3:16-19

16 For some, when they had heard, did bitterly provoke; yet, not all that came out of Egypt by Moses. 17 But with whom was he angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose carcasses fell in the wilderness? 18 But to whom did he swear that they should not enter into his rest, but to those who believed not? 19 And so we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
