¹² But Peter arose and ran to the sepulcher, and stooping down, he saw the linen clothes lying by themselves; and he departed, wondering in himself at that which had come to pass.

³ Then Peter and the other disciple went out, and came to the tomb. ⁴ And the two ran together; and the other disciple outran Peter, and came first to the tomb; ⁵ and he stooped down and saw the linen cloths lying, but he did not go in. ⁶ Then came Simon Peter, following him; and he went into the tomb, and saw the linen cloths lying, ⁷ and the handkerchief that had been on his head, not lying with the linen cloths, but folded in a place by itself. ⁸ Then, therefore, the other disciple, who came first to the tomb, went in, and saw, and believed. ⁹ For, as yet, they did not know the scripture, that he must rise from the dead. ¹⁰ Then the disciples went away again by them selves.
