⁸ And they went out, and fled from the sepulcher; for trembling and astonishment seized upon them. And they said nothing to any one, for they were afraid.

⁸ And they went out quickly from the sepulcher, with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples.

⁵ And they entered the sepulcher, and saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a white robe: and they were frightened. ⁶ But he said to them: Be not frightened; you seek Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here: see the place where they laid him.

⁴ Carry no purse, nor bag, nor sandals; and salute no one on the road.

⁹ and returned from the sepulcher, and told all these things to the eleven and to the rest. ¹⁰ It was Mary Magdalene and Joanna and Mary the mother of James, and the others with them, that told these things to the apostles. ¹¹ And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not.

²² And further, certain women of our company, who were early at the sepulcher, astonished us: ²³ for they found not his body, and came and told that they had seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive. ²⁴ And some of those who were with us went to the sepulcher, and found it even as the women had said, but him they saw not.

³⁷ But they were terrified and frightened, and thought that they saw a spirit.
