³ therefore, all things that they command you to observe, observe and do. But do not according to their works: for they command, and do not.

¹⁷ But if you are named Jew, and rest in the law, and make your boast in God. ¹⁸ and know his will, and approve what is excellent, being instructed by the law: ¹⁹ if you are also confident that you yourself are a guide for the blind, a light to those who are in darkness, ²⁰ an instructor of the simple, a teacher of the unlearned, because you have the form of true knowledge in the law; ²¹ you, then, who teach another, do you not teach yourself? You who preach that a man should not steal, do you steal? ²² You who say that a man should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who detest idols, do you rob temples? ²³ You who make your boast in the law, do you, by transgressing the law, dishonor God? ²⁴ For the name of God is reviled among the Gentiles, on account of you, as it is written. ²⁵ Now, circumcision is indeed profitable, if you keep the law: but, if you transgress the law, your circumcision becomes uncircumcision.
