¹ After these things I saw, and behold, a door was opened in heaven; and the first voice which I heard, like the voice of a trumpet speaking with me, said: Come up hither, and I will show you things that must be hereafter. ² And immediately I was in spirit; and behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne; ³ and he that sat was, in appearance, like a jasper and sardine-stone: and there was round about the throne a rainbow, in appearance like an emerald. ⁴ And round about the throne were twenty-four thrones; and on the thrones there sat twenty-four elders, clothed in white raiment; and on their heads were crowns of gold. ⁵ And out of the throne there went lightnings and thunderings and voices; and seven lamps of fire were burning before the throne: these are the seven spirits of God. ⁶ And before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal. And in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four living creatures full of eyes before and behind. ⁷ And the first living creature was like a lion, and the second living creature was like a calf, and the third living creature had the face of a man, and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle. ⁸ And the four living creatures had each of them six wings about him; and they are full of eyes within; and they have no rest day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come. ⁹ And when the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him that sits on the throne, who lives from age to age, ¹⁰ the twenty-four elders fall down before him that sits on the throne, and worship him that lives from age to age, and throw their crowns before the throne, saying: Thou art worthy, Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and by thy will they exist, and were created. ¹¹ :

¹⁶ And after Jesus was immersed, he came up immediately from the water; and lo, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and coming upon him.

¹⁰ And immediately on coming up from the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him.

²¹ And it came to pass, while all the people were being immersed, that Jesus also was immersed; and as he was praying, the heaven was opened,

¹³ But when he, the Spirit of the truth, has come, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak of himself; but what he hears, that will he speak, and he will show you things to come.

⁵⁶ and he said: Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing at the right hand of God.

¹¹ and he saw heaven opened, and some vessel, like a great sheet, descending, bound by the four corners, and let down to the earth.

¹ THE Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave to him, that he might show to his servants the things that must shortly come to pass; and he sent it by his angel, and made it known to his servant John, ² who bore testimony to the word of God, and recorded the testimony of Jesus Christ, what ever things he saw. ³ Blessed is he that reads, and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep the things that are written in it; for the time is at hand.

¹⁰ I was in spirit on the Lord's day, and I heard behind me a great voice like that of a trumpet,

¹⁹ Write, therefore, the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and those which shall be here after;

¹² And they heard a great voice from heaven, saying to them: Come up hither. And they went up into heaven in a cloud, and their enemies beheld them.

¹⁷ And the seventh angel poured out his cup into the air; and there came a great voice from the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying: It is done.

⁶ And he said to me: These words are faithful and true; and the Lord God of the spirits of the prophets has sent his angel to show his servants the things that must shortly take place.

¹ Now concerning the things that have been spoken, the principal point is this: We have such a high priest, who has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;

²¹ To him that overcomes, I will give to sit with me in my throne, even as I also have overcome, and have taken my seat with my father in his throne.

⁵ And out of the throne there went lightnings and thunderings and voices; and seven lamps of fire were burning before the throne: these are the seven spirits of God.

⁹ And when the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him that sits on the throne, who lives from age to age,

¹ And I saw in the right hand of him that sits on the throne, a book written within and without, sealed with seven seals.

⁶ And I saw, in the midst of the throne, and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, a Lamb standing, like one that had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God that are sent into all the earth. ⁷ And he came, and took the book out of the right hand of him that sits on the throne.

¹³ And every creature that is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are on the sea, even all that are in them, I heard saying: To him that sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and strength from age to age.

¹⁶ and said to the mountains and to the rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

⁹ After this I saw, and behold, a great multitude, that no one could number, out of all nations and tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and there were palms in their hands; ¹⁰ and they cried with a loud voice, saying: Salvation to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb. ¹¹ And all the angels stood round about the throne and the elders and the four living creatures; and they fell on their faces before the throne, and worshiped God, ¹² saying, Amen: blessing and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God from acre to acre. Amen. ¹³ And one of the elders answered, and said to me: "Who are these that are clothed in white robes, and whence came they? ¹⁴ And I said to him: Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me: These are they who have come out of great affliction, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. ¹⁵ Therefore, they are before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple; and he that sits on the throne shall dwell among them. ¹⁶ They shall hunger no more, nor shall they thirst any more, nor shall the sun fall upon them, nor any heat. ¹⁷ For the Lamb that is in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and will lead them to living fountains of water: and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.

⁵ And she brought forth a male child, that was to rule all nations with a rod of iron; and her child was caught away to God, even to his throne.

³ And he carried me away in spirit into the wilderness; and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast, that was full of impious names, and that had seven heads and ten horns.

⁴ And the twenty-four elders, and the four living creatures, fell down, and worshiped God that sits upon the throne, saying: Amen, Alleluia.

¹¹ And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat upon it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and no place was found for them.

⁵ And he that sat upon the throne said: Behold, I make all things new. And he said to me: Write, for these words are true and faithful.

¹⁰ And he carried me away in spirit to a mountain, great and high, and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,

¹ And he showed me a river of water of life, clear as crystal, coming out from the throne of God and of the Lamb. ² In the midst of the street of the city, and on each side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve kinds of fruit, and yielded its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. ³ And there shall be no more curse; and the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it: and his servants shall serve him.

¹ And I saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven, clothed with a cloud; and the rainbow was upon his head, and his face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire.

¹¹ having the glory of God: that which gave it light was like a most costly stone, like jasper-stone, brilliant as crystal.

¹⁹ And the foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with every costly stone: the first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald; ²⁰ the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, crysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprase; the eleventh, hyacinth; the twelfth, amethyst.

²⁸ Jesus said to them: Verily I say to you, That, in the restoration, when the Son of man shall sit on his glorious throne, you also who have followed me shall sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

³⁰ that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

⁸ henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me at that day; and not to me only, but to all those who love his appearing.

¹⁰ Fear none of the things which you are about to suffer; behold, the devil will throw some of you into prison, that you may be tried: and you shall have affliction ten days. Be faithful till death, and I will give you the crown of life.

⁴ Yet you have a few names in Sardis that have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white, for they are worthy. ⁵ He that overcomes, shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot his name out of the book of life: and I will con fess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

¹⁰ the twenty-four elders fall down before him that sits on the throne, and worship him that lives from age to age, and throw their crowns before the throne, saying: Thou art worthy, Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and by thy will they exist, and were created.

⁸ And when he had taken the book, the four living creatures, and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, having, each of them, harps, and golden cups full of incense, which is the prayers of the saints.

¹⁴ And the four living creatures said, Amen; and the elders fell down, and worshiped.

¹¹ And a white robe was given to each of them: and it was said to them, that they should yet rest for a time, till the number of their fellow-servants,, and of their brethren, who should be killed as they had been, should be completed.

⁷ And the shapes of the locusts were like horses prepared for battle; and on their heads were, as it were, crowns of gold; and their faces were like the faces of men.

¹⁶ And the twenty-four elders that sat before God on their thrones, fell upon their faces, and worshiped God,

¹⁴ And the armies that were in heaven followed him on white horses; and they were clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

⁴ And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and the power of judging was given to them; and I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the word of God; and of those who had not worshiped the beast, nor his image, and had not received his mark on their forehead, nor on their hand: and they lived and reigned with Christ a thou sand years.

¹¹ I immerse you in water, in order to repentance; but he that comes after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will immerse you in the Holy Spirit and in fire:

³ And there appeared to them tongues like fire, which distributed them selves, and sat one on each of them.

⁴ Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit; ⁵ and there are diversities of ministries, but the same Lord; ⁶ and there are diversities of operations, but the same God, who makes them all effectual in all. ⁷ But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one, for the good of all. ⁸ For to one is given, by the Spirit, the word of wisdom; to another, the word of knowledge, by the same Spirit; ⁹ to another, faith, by the same Spirit; to another, gifts of healing, by the same Spirit; ¹⁰ to another, the working of mighty deeds; to another, prophecy; to another, the discerning of spirits; to another, different kinds of tongues; to another, the interpretation of tongues. ¹¹ But all these, the one and the same Spirit makes effectual, distributing to each, respectively, as he wills.

¹⁸ For you have not come to a mountain that may be touched, and that burns with fire, and to blackness and darkness and tempest, ¹⁹ and to the sound of a trumpet, and to the utterance of words, the hearing of which utterance caused the people to entreat that the word might not be spoken to them again; ²⁰ for they could not endure that which was commanded, And if even a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned: ²¹ and so terrible was the sight, that even Moses said, I exceedingly fear and tremble. ²² But you have come to Mount Zion, and the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels; ²³ to the general assembly and church of the first-born, who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the just made perfect, ²⁴ and to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than the blood of Abel. ²⁵ See that you reject not him that speaks: for if they es caped not who rejected that earthly man who gave the oracles, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that is from heaven, ²⁶ whose voice then shook the earth; but now he has promised, saying, Yet once more I will shake not the earth only, but also the heaven. ²⁷ And this prophecy, Yet once more, signifies the removing of the things that are shaken, as of things that have been made, that the things which can not be shaken may remain. ²⁸ Wherefore, as we receive a kingdom that can not be shaken, let us have gratitude, by which we may serve God acceptably, with reverence and godly fear: ²⁹ for our God is a consuming fire.

⁴ John to the seven churches that are in Asia, grace be to you and peace from him who is, and who was, and who is to come; and from the seven spirits which are before his throne;

¹ And to the angel of the church in Sardis, write: These things says he that has the seven spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know your works, that you have a name, that you live, and are dead.

⁶ And I saw, in the midst of the throne, and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, a Lamb standing, like one that had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God that are sent into all the earth.

⁵ And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it into the earth; and there were voices and thunderings and lightnings and an earthquake.

¹⁹ And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple, the ark of the covenant of the Lord; and there were lightnings and voices and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

¹⁷ And the seventh angel poured out his cup into the air; and there came a great voice from the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying: It is done. ¹⁸ And there were lightnings and voices and thunders; and there was a great earthquake, such as has not been since men were on the earth, so great an earth quake, and so mighty.

⁸ And the four living creatures had each of them six wings about him; and they are full of eyes within; and they have no rest day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come. ⁹ And when the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him that sits on the throne, who lives from age to age,

¹⁴ And the four living creatures said, Amen; and the elders fell down, and worshiped.

¹⁷ For the Lamb that is in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and will lead them to living fountains of water: and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.

³ And they sung a new song before the throne, and before the four living creatures, and the elders: and no one was able to learn the song, but the hundred and forty-four thousand that had been redeemed from the earth.

² And I saw, as it were, a sea of glass mingled with fire, and those who had obtained the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.

⁷ And one of the four living creatures gave to the seven angels seven golden cups full of the wrath of God, who lives from age to age.

¹⁸ And the wall of it was built of jasper; and the city was pure gold, like clear glass.

²¹ And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, like clear glass.

¹ And he showed me a river of water of life, clear as crystal, coming out from the throne of God and of the Lamb.

⁹ For it is written in the law of Moses: You shall not muzzle the ox that treads out the grain? Has God a care for oxen? ¹⁰ or does he say it wholly for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, it was written: that he that plows should plow in hope, and that he that thrashes should thrash in hope of partaking.

²⁰ Brethren, be not children in understanding: yet, in malice, be childlike; but, in understanding, be full-grown men.

⁶ And before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal. And in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four living creatures full of eyes before and behind.

³¹ Therefore watch, remembering that for three years, by day and by night, I ceased not to warn every one of you with tears.

¹⁸ and I will be to you a father, and you shall be to me sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.

⁹ For you remember, brethren, our labor and toil; for, laboring night and day, that we might not be burdensome to any one of you, we preached to you the gospel of God.

⁸ nor did we eat any one's bread for nothing: but worked with labor and toil, night and day, that we might not burden any one of you; ⁹ this we did, not because we have not authority, but that we might give ourselves to you as an example, in order that you might imitate us.

¹⁶ Take heed to yourself, and to your teaching; continue in them; for by doing this, you will save both yourself, and those who hear you.

² preach the word, be urgent in season and out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and teaching.

⁸ Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and to-day, and forever.

⁸ I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.

⁷ And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia, write: These things says he that is holy, he that is true, he that has the key of David, he that opens and no man shuts, and shuts and no man opens;

⁴ And round about the throne were twenty-four thrones; and on the thrones there sat twenty-four elders, clothed in white raiment; and on their heads were crowns of gold.

¹⁵ Therefore, they are before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple; and he that sits on the throne shall dwell among them.

¹⁷ saying: We give thee thanks, Lord God Almighty, who art, and who wast, because thou hast taken thy great power, and hast reigned.

¹¹ and the smoke of their torment ascends from age to age: and they who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name, have no rest day or night.

³ And they sung the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: Great and wonderful are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.

⁷ And I heard a voice from the altar saying: Even so; Lord God Al mighty, true and just are thy judgments.

¹⁴ For they are the spirits of demons that do signs, and they go forth to the kings of the whole world, to bring them together to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

¹⁵ And out of his mouth goes a sharp, two-edged sword, that with it he may smite the nations; and he shall rule them with a rod of iron; and he treads the wine-press of the fiercest wrath of God, the Almighty.

²² And I saw no temple in it: for the Lord God the Almighty, and the Lamb, are its temple.

⁸ And in the one instance, men that die receive tithes; but in the other, he receives them who has the testimony that he lives.

²⁵ Wherefore, he is able also to save through all time those who come to God by him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.

¹⁸ and I am he that lives; and I was dead, and be hold, I am alive from age to age: and I have the keys of hades and of death.

¹³ And every creature that is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are on the sea, even all that are in them, I heard saying: To him that sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and strength from age to age. ¹⁴ And the four living creatures said, Amen; and the elders fell down, and worshiped.

¹¹ And all the angels stood round about the throne and the elders and the four living creatures; and they fell on their faces before the throne, and worshiped God, ¹² saying, Amen: blessing and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God from acre to acre. Amen.

⁶ and swore by him that lives from age to age, who created the heaven and the things that are in it, and the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, That time should no longer intervene,

¹¹ And having come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother; and falling down, they did him homage. And when they had opened their treasures, they offered to him gifts, gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

⁹ and said to him: All these things will I give you, if you will fall down and worship me. ¹⁰ Then Jesus said to him: Get behind me, Satan, for it is written: You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.

⁵² And they worshiped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy;

¹⁰ But, by the grace of God, I am what I am; and his grace, which was bestowed on me, has not been bestowed in vain: but I have labored more abundantly than they all; not I, how ever, but the grace of God which was with me.

⁴ Who will not fear thee, Lord, and glorify thy name? For thou alone art holy; for all nations shall come and worship before thee: because thy judgments are made manifest.

⁸ And I, John, am he that saw and heard these things. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel that showed me these things. ⁹ And he said to me: See that you do it not; I am your fellow-servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book: worship God.

¹ IN the beginning was the WORD, and the WORD. was with God, and the WORD was God. ² He was in the beginning with God. ³ All things were made by him, and without him not one thing was made that now exists.

¹⁵ and saying: Men, why are you doing these things? We also are human beings, with passions like your own, and we preach the gospel to you, that you may turn from these vanities to the living God, who made the heaven, and the earth, and the sea, and all things that are in them;

²⁴ God, who made the world, and all things that are in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, dwells not in temples made with hands;

³⁶ For from him, and by him, and for him, are all things. To him be glory through the ages! Amen.

⁹ and enlighten all men with respect to the plan of the mystery, which was concealed from the ages in God, who created all things;

¹⁶ for by him were all things created, things in heaven and things in earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, or lordships, or principalities, or authorities; all things were created by him, and for him: ¹⁷ and he is before all things, and by him all things consist:

² whom he has appointed heir of all things, by whom, also, he made the ages;

¹⁰ And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning, didst lay the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the works of thy hands.

² And I saw a strong angel crying with a great voice: Who is worthy to open the book, and to break its seals?

⁹ And they sung a new song, saying: Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open its seals: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood, out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation:

¹² And they said, with a loud voice: Worthy is the Lamb that was slain, to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing.

⁷ and he said with a loud voice: Fear God, and give glory to him, for the hour of his judgment has come; and worship him that made the heaven, and the earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
