¹ And after this I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind might not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree. ² And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, ³ saying: Hurt not the earth, nor the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads. ⁴ And I heard the number of those who were sealed: a hundred and forty-four thousand were sealed out of all the tribes of the sons of Israel. ⁵ Of the tribe of Judah, twelve thousand were sealed: of the tribe of Reuben, twelve thousand were sealed: of the tribe of Gad, twelve thousand were sealed: ⁶ of the tribe of Asher, twelve thousand were sealed: of the tribe of Naphtali, twelve thousand were sealed: of the tribe of Manasseh, twelve thousand were sealed: ⁷ of the tribe of Sim eon, twelve thousand were sealed: of the tribe of Levi, twelve thousand were sealed: of the tribe of Issachar, twelve thousand were sealed: ⁸ of the tribe of Zabulon, twelve thousand were sealed: of the tribe of Joseph, twelve thousand were sealed: of the tribe of Benjamin, twelve thousand were sealed. ⁹ After this I saw, and behold, a great multitude, that no one could number, out of all nations and tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and there were palms in their hands; ¹⁰ and they cried with a loud voice, saying: Salvation to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb. ¹¹ And all the angels stood round about the throne and the elders and the four living creatures; and they fell on their faces before the throne, and worshiped God, ¹² saying, Amen: blessing and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God from acre to acre. Amen. ¹³ And one of the elders answered, and said to me: "Who are these that are clothed in white robes, and whence came they? ¹⁴ And I said to him: Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me: These are they who have come out of great affliction, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. ¹⁵ Therefore, they are before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple; and he that sits on the throne shall dwell among them. ¹⁶ They shall hunger no more, nor shall they thirst any more, nor shall the sun fall upon them, nor any heat. ¹⁷ For the Lamb that is in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and will lead them to living fountains of water: and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.

²⁶ And he said to them: Why are you fearful, you of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea: and there was a great calm. ²⁷ But the men were astonished, and said: What man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!

³¹ And he will send his angels with a trumpet of great voice, and they shall gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

²⁷ And then will ho send his angels, and gather his elect from the four winds, from the most distant part of earth to the most distant part of heaven.

¹ After these things I saw, and behold, a door was opened in heaven; and the first voice which I heard, like the voice of a trumpet speaking with me, said: Come up hither, and I will show you things that must be hereafter. ² And immediately I was in spirit; and behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne; ³ and he that sat was, in appearance, like a jasper and sardine-stone: and there was round about the throne a rainbow, in appearance like an emerald. ⁴ And round about the throne were twenty-four thrones; and on the thrones there sat twenty-four elders, clothed in white raiment; and on their heads were crowns of gold. ⁵ And out of the throne there went lightnings and thunderings and voices; and seven lamps of fire were burning before the throne: these are the seven spirits of God. ⁶ And before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal. And in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four living creatures full of eyes before and behind.

⁶ And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures, saying: A choenix of wheat for a denarius, and three choenices of barley for a denarius; and as to the oil and the wine, see that you do no injustice.

³ saying: Hurt not the earth, nor the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.

⁴ And they were commanded not to hurt the grass of the earth, nor any green thing, nor any tree, but the men who have not the seal of God in their foreheads.

¹⁴ saying to the sixth angel, who had the trumpet: Loose the four angels that are bound at the great river Euphrates.

⁶³ But Jesus remained silent. And the chief priest answered and said to him: I adjure you, by the living God, that you tell us whether you are the Christ, the Son of God?

²⁷ Labor not for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to life eternal, which the Son of man will give you; for him has God the Father at tested.

³⁰ And when forty years were completed, there appeared to him, in the wilderness of Mount Sinai, an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush. ³¹ When Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight, and as he was drawing near to observe it, the voice of the Lord came to him: ³² I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abra ham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses trembled, and durst not observe it.

²² who has also set his seal upon us, and given us the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

¹³ in whom you also hoped after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom, after you also believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

³⁰ and grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, with which you have been sealed for the day of redemption.

⁹ For they themselves declare concerning us what kind of entrance we had to you, and how you turned to God from idols, to serve the living and true God,

¹⁹ But the foundation of God stands firm, having this inscription: The Lord knows those who are his; and, Let every one that names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

²² But you have come to Mount Zion, and the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels;

³ Blessed is he that reads, and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep the things that are written in it; for the time is at hand.

² And I saw a strong angel crying with a great voice: Who is worthy to open the book, and to break its seals?

³ And another angel came, and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and much incense was given to him, that he might offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar that is before the throne.

⁷ And the first angel sounded; and there were hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were thrown into the earth: and the third part of the earth was burned up, and the third part of the trees was burned up, and all the green grass was burned up. ⁸ And the second angel sounded; and, as it were, a great mountain, burning with fire, was thrown into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood. ⁹ And the third part of the creatures that were in the sea, that had life, died: and the third part of the ships was destroyed. ¹⁰ And the third angel sounded; and there fell from heaven a great star, that burned as a lamp; and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters. ¹¹ And the name of the star is called Wormwood; and the third part of the waters became wormwood: and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter. ¹² And the fourth angel sounded; and the third part of the sun, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars was smitten, that the third part might be darkened, and that the day might not shine for the third part of it, and the night in like manner.

¹ And I saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven, clothed with a cloud; and the rainbow was upon his head, and his face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire.

⁴ And when the seven thunders had spoken, I was about to write; and I heard a voice from heaven, saying: Seal up the things which the seven thunders spoke, and write them not.

²² And unless those days should be made few, no flesh could be saved. But on account of the elect those days shall be made few.

²⁶ If any one serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall my servant also be. If any one serve me, him will my Father honor.

²² But now, since you have been made free from sin, and have become servants to God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, eternal life.

¹⁶ And he causes all, small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark on their right hand, or on their forehead,

¹ And I saw, and behold, the Lamb stood on the mount Zion, and with him a hundred and forty-four thousand, that had his name and his Father's name written in their foreheads.

² for true and righteous are his judgments, for he has judged the great harlot that corrupted the earth with her lewdness; and he has avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.

⁴ And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and the power of judging was given to them; and I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the word of God; and of those who had not worshiped the beast, nor his image, and had not received his mark on their forehead, nor on their hand: and they lived and reigned with Christ a thou sand years.

⁴ And they shall see his face, and his name shall be in their foreheads.

²⁸ Jesus said to them: Verily I say to you, That, in the restoration, when the Son of man shall sit on his glorious throne, you also who have followed me shall sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

³⁰ that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

⁷ to which promise our twelve tribes, zealously serving night and day, hope to come: on account of which hope, King Agrippa, I am accused by the Jews.

²⁷ But Isaiah cries concerning Israel: Though the number of the sons of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:

⁵ Thus, then, at the present time also, there is a remnant according to the election of grace. ⁶ And if the election is by grace, it is no longer by works; otherwise grace is no longer grace.

¹ JAMES, a servant of God, and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes that are in the dispersion, greeting.

¹⁶ And the number of the armies of horsemen was two myriads of myriads: I heard the number of them.

³ And they sung a new song before the throne, and before the four living creatures, and the elders: and no one was able to learn the song, but the hundred and forty-four thousand that had been redeemed from the earth.

¹ And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellence of speech or of wisdom, declaring to you the testimony of God. ² For I determined not to know any thing among you but Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

³⁶ And there was a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher; she was of great age, and had lived with a husband seven years from her virginity:

¹ In the mean time, when myriads of the people had come together, so that they trod one upon another, he began to say to his disciples first of all: Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

³⁶ Watch, therefore, and pray at all times, that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

¹³ took branches of palm-trees, and went out to meet him, and cried: Hosanna, blessed is the king of Israel that comes in the name of the Lord.

²⁵ For I do not wish you, brethren, to be ignorant of this mystery lest you be wise in your own conceit that blindness has happened to Israel in part, till the full number of the Gen tiles shall have come in.

⁹ and that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy, as it is written: For this cause I will give praise to thee among the Gentiles, and to thy name will I sing. ¹⁰ And again he says: Rejoice, you Gentiles, with his people. ¹¹ And again: Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles, and applaud him all you peoples. ¹² And again, Isaiah says: There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to rule the Gentiles, in him shall the Gentiles trust.

¹³ Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand them in the evil day, and having overcome them all, to stand firm.

¹² Therefore, there were born of one, who was dead as it respects these things, a posterity like the stars of heaven in multitude, and like the sand on the sea-shore, innumerable.

⁴ Yet you have a few names in Sardis that have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white, for they are worthy. ⁵ He that overcomes, shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot his name out of the book of life: and I will con fess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

¹⁸ I counsel you to buy of me gold that has been tried in the fire, that you may be rich; and white raiment, that you may be clothed, and that the shame of your nakedness may not appear; and anoint your eyes with eye-salve, that you may see.

⁴ And round about the throne were twenty-four thrones; and on the thrones there sat twenty-four elders, clothed in white raiment; and on their heads were crowns of gold.

⁹ And they sung a new song, saying: Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open its seals: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood, out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation:

¹¹ And I saw, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands.

¹¹ And a white robe was given to each of them: and it was said to them, that they should yet rest for a time, till the number of their fellow-servants,, and of their brethren, who should be killed as they had been, should be completed.

¹³ And one of the elders answered, and said to me: "Who are these that are clothed in white robes, and whence came they? ¹⁴ And I said to him: Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me: These are they who have come out of great affliction, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. ¹⁵ Therefore, they are before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple; and he that sits on the throne shall dwell among them.

¹⁵ And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying: The kingdom of the world has become our Lord's and his Christ s, and he shall reign from age to age.

⁶ and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.

²⁹ The next day John saw Jesus coming to him, and said: Behold the Lamb of God, that takes away the sin of the world.

³⁶ And looking on Jesus as he walked, he said: Be hold the Lamb of God.

²² You worship you know not what; we know what we worship; for salvation is of the Jews.

⁸ For by grace you have been saved through the faith; and this matter is not of yourselves; it is the gift of God:

⁹ And when the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him that sits on the throne, who lives from age to age, ¹⁰ the twenty-four elders fall down before him that sits on the throne, and worship him that lives from age to age, and throw their crowns before the throne, saying: Thou art worthy, Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and by thy will they exist, and were created. ¹¹ :

⁷ And he came, and took the book out of the right hand of him that sits on the throne.

¹³ And every creature that is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are on the sea, even all that are in them, I heard saying: To him that sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and strength from age to age. ¹⁴ And the four living creatures said, Amen; and the elders fell down, and worshiped.

¹⁰ And I heard a great voice in heaven, saying: Now has come the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren, he that accused them before our God day and night, is cast down.

¹ After these things, I heard the great voice of a vast multitude in heaven, saying: Alleluia; Salvation and glory and honor and power to our God:

⁵ And he that sat upon the throne said: Behold, I make all things new. And he said to me: Write, for these words are true and faithful.

³ And there shall be no more curse; and the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it: and his servants shall serve him.

¹⁰ Then Jesus said to him: Get behind me, Satan, for it is written: You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.

²³ that all may honor the Son, as they honor the Father. He that honors not the Son, honors not the Father who sent him.

⁶ And again, when he brings the first-begotten into the world, he says: And let all the angels of God worship him.

¹⁰ the twenty-four elders fall down before him that sits on the throne, and worship him that lives from age to age, and throw their crowns before the throne, saying: Thou art worthy, Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and by thy will they exist, and were created.

¹¹ And I saw, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands. ¹² And they said, with a loud voice: Worthy is the Lamb that was slain, to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing. ¹³ And every creature that is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are on the sea, even all that are in them, I heard saying: To him that sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and strength from age to age.

¹⁶ And the twenty-four elders that sat before God on their thrones, fell upon their faces, and worshiped God,

⁴ Who will not fear thee, Lord, and glorify thy name? For thou alone art holy; for all nations shall come and worship before thee: because thy judgments are made manifest.

⁴ And the twenty-four elders, and the four living creatures, fell down, and worshiped God that sits upon the throne, saying: Amen, Alleluia. ⁵ And a voice came out of the throne, saying: Praise our God all you his servants, and you that fear him, both small and great. ⁶ And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying: Alleluia; for the Lord God the Almighty reigns.

⁹ And he said to me: See that you do it not; I am your fellow-servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book: worship God.

¹³ And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the Evil One.

¹⁵ For all these afflictions are for your sakes, that the favor which abounds to me, may, through the thanksgiving of the many, abound richly to the glory of God.

¹¹ that you may be enriched in every thing, for all liberality which produces through us thanksgiving to God; ¹² because the administration of this service not only supplies the wants of the saints, but also abounds in many thanksgivings to God;

⁷ rooted, and built up in him, and strengthened in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.

¹⁷ And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

²⁵ :

¹⁸ and I am he that lives; and I was dead, and be hold, I am alive from age to age: and I have the keys of hades and of death.

¹² And they said, with a loud voice: Worthy is the Lamb that was slain, to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing.

⁴ And the twenty-four elders, and the four living creatures, fell down, and worshiped God that sits upon the throne, saying: Amen, Alleluia.

²⁸ Then Jesus cried out in the temple, as he was teaching, and said: You both know me, and you know whence I am; and I have not come of myself, but he who sent me is true, whom you know not.

⁵ And one of the elders said to me: Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, has the power to open the book and its seven seals.

⁹ After this I saw, and behold, a great multitude, that no one could number, out of all nations and tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and there were palms in their hands;

²¹ for then shall be great affliction, such as has not been from the beginning of the world till now, nor shall ever be.

⁸ Peter said to him: Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him: Unless I wash you, you have no part with me. ⁹ Simon Peter said to him: Lord, not my feet only, but my hands and my head. ¹⁰ Jesus said to him: He that has bathed needs nothing else save to wash his feet, but is wholly clean. And you are clean, but not all. ¹¹ For he knew who would deliver him up; for this reason he said, You are not all clean. ¹² Therefore, when he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, he reclined at table again, and said to them: Do you understand what I have done for you? ¹³ You call me Teacher and Lord; and you say well, for so I am. ¹⁴ If, then, I, your Lord and your Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet.

³³ These things I have spoken to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you shall have affliction, but be of good courage; I have overcome the world.

²² strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, that through many afflictions we mast enter the kingdom of God.

³ And not only so, but we rejoice in afflictions also; because we know that affliction produces patience,

¹¹ And such were some of you: but you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified, in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

²⁶ that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the bath of water through the word, ²⁷ in order that he might present it to himself a glorious church, having neither stain, nor wrinkle, nor any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

⁴ so that we ourselves glory in you, among the churches of God, for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and afflictions which you endure;

¹⁴ how much more will the blood of the Christ, who, through the eternal Spirit, offered himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works, in order that you may serve the living God?

¹² Wherefore, Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people by his own blood, suffered without the gate.

¹⁹ but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without spot and blemish,

⁷ But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.

⁵ and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the first born from the dead, and the Prince of the kings of the earth. To him that loves us, and that has washed us from our sins in his own blood,

⁹ I know your works, and your affliction, and your poverty, (but you are rich,) and the impious words of those who say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.

⁹ And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they had borne: ¹⁰ and they cried with a loud voice, saying: How long, Sovereign, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? ¹¹ And a white robe was given to each of them: and it was said to them, that they should yet rest for a time, till the number of their fellow-servants,, and of their brethren, who should be killed as they had been, should be completed.

¹¹ And they over came him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives even to death.

² And I saw, as it were, a sea of glass mingled with fire, and those who had obtained the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.

⁶ And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus; and when I saw her, I wondered with great astonishment.

¹⁴ Blessed are those who do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and that they may go through the gates into the city.

¹⁴ And the "WORD became flesh, and tabernacled among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and of truth.

¹⁶ Know you not that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

¹⁶ What has a temple of God in common with one of idols? For you are the temple of the living God, as God has said: I will dwell in them, and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

¹ Now concerning the things that have been spoken, the principal point is this: We have such a high priest, who has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;

² looking to Jesus the author and finisher of the faith, who, for the joy that was set before him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God.

¹⁹ And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple, the ark of the covenant of the Lord; and there were lightnings and voices and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

³ And they sung a new song before the throne, and before the four living creatures, and the elders: and no one was able to learn the song, but the hundred and forty-four thousand that had been redeemed from the earth. ⁴ These are they that were not defiled with women; for they are virgins; these are they that follow the Lamb wherever he goes: these were redeemed from among men, the first-fruits to God and to the Lamb. ⁵ And in their mouth was found no guile; for they are blameless.

¹⁰ And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are: and they shall be tormented day and night from age to age.

³ And I heard a great voice out of heaven, saying: Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them: and they shall be his people, and God himself will be with them, their God. ⁴ And he will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there shall be no more death; neither shall there be any more sorrow, nor crying, nor pain; for the former things have passed away.

⁵ And there shall be no more night; and they have no need of the lamp, nor of the light of the sun: for the Lord God will give them light: and they shall reign from age to age.

⁶ Bless ed are they that hunger and thirst for righteousness; for they shall be filled.

⁶ But when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.

²¹ Yet he has no root in himself, but endures for a while; and when affliction or persecution arises on account of the word, he immediately takes offense.

¹⁴ but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him, shall never thirst. But the water that I will give him, shall be in him a fountain of water springing up in order to eternal life.

¹¹ For the sun rises with its burning heat, and withers the grass, and its flower falls, and the beauty of its form perishes. So, also, shall the rich man fade away in his ways.

⁴ And he will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there shall be no more death; neither shall there be any more sorrow, nor crying, nor pain; for the former things have passed away.

⁶ And thou, Bethlehem, city of Judah, art by no means the least among the chiefs of Judah; for out of thee shall come a leader, that shall be a shepherd to my people Israel.

¹¹ The woman said to him: Sir, you have ho vessel with which you can draw, and the well is deep; whence have you that living water?

³⁷ On the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying: If any one thirst, let him come to me and drink. ³⁸ He that believes on me, as the scripture has said, from his inner self shall flow rivers of living water.

¹¹ I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

¹⁴ I am the good shepherd, and I know my sheep, and am known by mine.

¹⁵ When, therefore, they had taken breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter: Simon, son of Jonah, Do you love me more than these? He said to him: Yes, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee. He said to him: Feed my lambs. ¹⁶ He said to him again a second time: Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me? He said to him: Yes, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee. He said to him: Be a shepherd to my sheep. ¹⁷ He said to him a third time: Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me? Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, Do you love me? And he said to him: Lord, thou knowest all things, thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus said to him: Feed my sheep.

²⁸ Therefore, take heed to yourselves, and to all the flock over which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, that you be shepherds to the church of God, which he has purchased with his own blood.

² Act as shepherds to the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight, not by compulsion, but willingly; not for the sake of sordid gain, but from readiness of mind:

¹¹ :

⁶ And I saw, in the midst of the throne, and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, a Lamb standing, like one that had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God that are sent into all the earth.

⁶ And he said to me: It is done; I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him that thirsts, I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely.

¹ And he showed me a river of water of life, clear as crystal, coming out from the throne of God and of the Lamb.
