¹⁰ Εἴ (If) τις (anyone) ἔρχεται (comes) πρὸς (to) ὑμᾶς (you) καὶ (and) ταύτην (this) τὴν (-) διδαχὴν (teaching) οὐ (not) φέρει (does bring), μὴ (not) λαμβάνετε (receive) αὐτὸν (him) εἰς (into) οἰκίαν (the house), καὶ (and) χαίρειν (to rejoice) αὐτῷ (him) μὴ (not) λέγετε (tell);

¹⁷ Παρακαλῶ (I exhort) δὲ (now) ὑμᾶς (you), ἀδελφοί (brothers), σκοπεῖν (to watch out for) τοὺς (those) τὰς (-) διχοστασίας (divisions) καὶ (and) τὰ (-) σκάνδαλα (obstacles) παρὰ (contrary to) τὴν (the) διδαχὴν (teaching) ἣν (that) ὑμεῖς (you) ἐμάθετε (have learned) ποιοῦντας (causing), καὶ (and) ἐκκλίνετε (turn away) ἀπ’ (from) αὐτῶν (them). ¹⁸ οἱ (-) γὰρ (For) τοιοῦτοι (such) τῷ (the) Κυρίῳ (Lord) ἡμῶν (of us) Χριστῷ (Christ) οὐ (not) δουλεύουσιν (serve), ἀλλὰ (but) τῇ (the) ἑαυτῶν (of themselves) κοιλίᾳ (belly); καὶ (and) διὰ (by) τῆς (-) χρηστολογίας (smooth talk) καὶ (and) εὐλογίας (flattery) ἐξαπατῶσιν (they deceive) τὰς (the) καρδίας (hearts) τῶν (of the) ἀκάκων (naive).

¹¹ νῦν (Now) δὲ (however), ἔγραψα (I wrote) ὑμῖν (to you) μὴ (not) συναναμίγνυσθαι (to associate with him) ἐάν (if) τις (anyone) ἀδελφὸς (a brother) ὀνομαζόμενος (being designated), ᾖ (he is) πόρνος (sexually immoral) ἢ (or) πλεονέκτης (a coveter), ἢ (or) εἰδωλολάτρης (an idolater) ἢ (or) λοίδορος (verbal abuser), ἢ (or) μέθυσος (a drunkard), ἢ (or) ἅρπαξ (swindler) — τῷ (with) τοιούτῳ (such a one) μηδὲ (not even) συνεσθίειν (to eat).

²² Εἴ (If) τις (anyone) οὐ (not) φιλεῖ (loves) τὸν (the) Κύριον (Lord), ἤτω (let him be) ἀνάθεμα (accursed). Μαράνα* (Marana) θά* (tha)!

⁸ Ἀλλὰ (But) καὶ (even) ἐὰν (if) ἡμεῖς (we) ἢ (or) ἄγγελος (an angel) ἐξ (out of) οὐρανοῦ (heaven) εὐαγγελίζηται* (should preach a gospel) ὑμῖν (to you) παρ’ (contrary to) ὃ (what) εὐηγγελισάμεθα (we proclaimed) ὑμῖν (to you), ἀνάθεμα (accursed) ἔστω (let him be)! ⁹ ὡς (As) προειρήκαμεν (we have said before), καὶ (even) ἄρτι (now) πάλιν (again) λέγω (I say), εἴ (if) τις (anyone) ὑμᾶς (to you) εὐαγγελίζεται (is preaching a gospel) παρ’ (contrary to) ὃ (what) παρελάβετε (you received), ἀνάθεμα (accursed) ἔστω (let him be)!

⁶ Παραγγέλλομεν (We command) δὲ (now) ὑμῖν (you), ἀδελφοί (brothers), ἐν (in) ὀνόματι (the name) τοῦ (of the) Κυρίου (Lord) ‹ἡμῶν› (of us) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus) Χριστοῦ (Christ), στέλλεσθαι (are to withdraw) ὑμᾶς (you) ἀπὸ (from) παντὸς (every) ἀδελφοῦ (brother) ἀτάκτως (idly) περιπατοῦντος (walking) καὶ (and) μὴ (not) κατὰ (according to) τὴν (the) παράδοσιν (tradition) ἣν (that) παρελάβοσαν* (you received) παρ’ (from) ἡμῶν (us).

¹⁴ Εἰ (If) δέ (then) τις (anyone) οὐχ (not) ὑπακούει (obey) τῷ (this) λόγῳ (instruction) ἡμῶν (of us) διὰ (through) τῆς (the) ἐπιστολῆς (letter), τοῦτον (of this man) σημειοῦσθε (take note) μὴ (not) συναναμίγνυσθαι (to mix with) αὐτῷ (him), ἵνα (so that) ἐντραπῇ (he may be ashamed).

⁵ ἔχοντες (having) μόρφωσιν (a form) εὐσεβείας (of godliness) τὴν (-) δὲ (but) δύναμιν (the power) αὐτῆς (of it) ἠρνημένοι (denying). καὶ (And) τούτους (these) ἀποτρέπου (turn away from). ⁶ Ἐκ (Out of) τούτων (this sort) γάρ (for) εἰσιν (are) οἱ (those) ἐνδύνοντες (entering) εἰς (into) τὰς (-) οἰκίας (households) καὶ (and) αἰχμαλωτίζοντες (taking captive) γυναικάρια (weak women), σεσωρευμένα (burdened) ἁμαρτίαις (with sins), ἀγόμενα (being led away) ἐπιθυμίαις (by passions) ποικίλαις (various),

¹⁰ αἱρετικὸν (A factious) ἄνθρωπον (man), μετὰ (after) μίαν (one) καὶ (and) δευτέραν (a second) νουθεσίαν (admonition), παραιτοῦ (reject),

¹¹ ὁ (the one) λέγων (telling) γὰρ (for) αὐτῷ (him) χαίρειν (to rejoice) κοινωνεῖ (partakes) τοῖς (in the) ἔργοις (works) αὐτοῦ (of him) τοῖς (-) πονηροῖς (evil).
