³³ ἐκ (Out of) δὲ (now) τοῦ (the) ὄχλου (crowd) συνεβίβασαν (to explain himself) Ἀλέξανδρον (Alexander), προβαλόντων (having thrust forward) αὐτὸν (him) τῶν (the) Ἰουδαίων (Jews). ὁ (-) δὲ (And) Ἀλέξανδρος (Alexander), κατασείσας (having motioned with) τὴν (the) χεῖρα (hand), ἤθελεν (was wanting) ἀπολογεῖσθαι (to make a defense) τῷ (to the) δήμῳ (people). ³⁴ ἐπιγνόντες (Having recognized) δὲ (however) ὅτι (that) Ἰουδαῖός (a Jew) ἐστιν (he is), φωνὴ (a cry) ἐγένετο (there was) μία (one) ἐκ (from) πάντων (all), ὡς (about) ἐπὶ (ongoing) ὥρας (hours) δύο (two) κραζόντων* (crying out), “Μεγάλη (Great is) ἡ (-) Ἄρτεμις (Artemis) Ἐφεσίων (of the Ephesians).”

¹⁹ μὴ (never) ἑαυτοὺς (yourselves) ἐκδικοῦντες (avenging), ἀγαπητοί (beloved); ἀλλὰ (instead) δότε (give) τόπον (place) τῇ (-) ὀργῇ (to wrath); γέγραπται (it has been written) γάρ (for): “Ἐμοὶ (Mine is) ἐκδίκησις (vengeance), ἐγὼ (I) ἀνταποδώσω (will repay), λέγει (says the) Κύριος (Lord).”

⁶ εἴπερ (For indeed) δίκαιον (righteous it is) παρὰ (with) Θεῷ (God) ἀνταποδοῦναι (to repay) τοῖς (those) θλίβουσιν (oppressing) ὑμᾶς (you) θλῖψιν (with affliction),

²⁰ ὧν (among whom) ἐστιν (are) Ὑμέναιος (Hymenaeus) καὶ (and) Ἀλέξανδρος (Alexander), οὓς (whom) παρέδωκα (I have handed over) τῷ (-) Σατανᾷ (to Satan) ἵνα (that) παιδευθῶσιν (they may be disciplined) μὴ (not) βλασφημεῖν (to blaspheme).

¹⁶ Ἐάν (If) τις (anyone) ἴδῃ (should see) τὸν (the) ἀδελφὸν (brother) αὐτοῦ (of him) ἁμαρτάνοντα (sinning) ἁμαρτίαν (a sin) μὴ (not) πρὸς (unto) θάνατον (death), αἰτήσει (he shall ask), καὶ (and) δώσει (He will give) αὐτῷ (him) ζωήν (life), τοῖς (to those) ἁμαρτάνουσιν (sinning) μὴ (not) πρὸς (unto) θάνατον (death). ἔστιν (There is) ἁμαρτία (a sin) πρὸς (unto) θάνατον (death); οὐ (not) περὶ (concerning) ἐκείνης (that) λέγω (do I say) ἵνα (that) ἐρωτήσῃ (he should implore).

¹⁰ καὶ (And) ἔκραξαν (they were crying) φωνῇ (in a voice) μεγάλῃ (loud), λέγοντες (saying), “Ἕως (Until) πότε (when), ὁ (O) Δεσπότης (Lord), ὁ (-) ἅγιος (holy) καὶ (and) ἀληθινός (true), οὐ (not) κρίνεις (do You judge), καὶ (and) ἐκδικεῖς (avenge) τὸ (the) αἷμα (blood) ἡμῶν (of us) ἐκ (from) τῶν (those) κατοικούντων (dwelling) ἐπὶ (upon) τῆς (the) γῆς (earth)?”

⁶ ἀπόδοτε (Give back) αὐτῇ (to her) ὡς (as) καὶ (also) αὐτὴ (she) ἀπέδωκεν (has rendered); καὶ (and) διπλώσατε (pay back double) τὰ (to her), διπλᾶ (twofold) κατὰ (according to) τὰ (the) ἔργα (works) αὐτῆς (of her). ἐν (In) τῷ (the) ποτηρίῳ (cup) ᾧ (which) ἐκέρασεν (she has mixed), κεράσατε (mix) αὐτῇ (to her) διπλοῦν (double).

²⁰ “Εὐφραίνου (Rejoice) ἐπ’ (over) αὐτῇ (her), οὐρανέ (O heaven), καὶ (and) οἱ (-) ἅγιοι (you saints), καὶ (and) οἱ (-) ἀπόστολοι (apostles), καὶ (and) οἱ (-) προφῆται (prophets), ὅτι (because) ἔκρινεν (did judge) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God) τὸ (the) κρίμα (judgment) ὑμῶν (for you) ἐξ (against) αὐτῆς (her).”
