³⁷ ἔτι (Yet) γὰρ (for), “Μικρὸν (A little) ὅσον (very) ὅσον (while), ὁ (the One) ἐρχόμενος (coming) ἥξει (will come), καὶ (and) οὐ (not) χρονίσει (will delay).

³ εἶπεν (said) αὐτῷ (to Him), “Σὺ (You) εἶ (are) ὁ (the) ἐρχόμενος (coming One), ἢ (or) ἕτερον (another) προσδοκῶμεν (are we to look for)?”

⁸ λέγω (I say) ὑμῖν (to you) ὅτι (that) ποιήσει (He will execute) τὴν (the) ἐκδίκησιν (avenging) αὐτῶν (of them) ἐν (in) τάχει (quickness). πλὴν (Nevertheless), ὁ (the) Υἱὸς (Son) τοῦ (-) ἀνθρώπου (of Man) ἐλθὼν (having come), ἆρα (indeed) εὑρήσει (will He find) τὴν (-) πίστιν (faith) ἐπὶ (on) τῆς (the) γῆς (earth)?”

⁷ Μακροθυμήσατε (Be patient) οὖν (therefore), ἀδελφοί (brothers), ἕως (until) τῆς (the) παρουσίας (coming) τοῦ (of the) Κυρίου (Lord). ἰδοὺ (Behold), ὁ (the) γεωργὸς (farmer) ἐκδέχεται (awaits) τὸν (the) τίμιον (precious) καρπὸν (fruit) τῆς (of the) γῆς (earth), μακροθυμῶν (being patient) ἐπ’ (for) αὐτῷ (it) ἕως (until) λάβῃ (it receives) πρόϊμον (the early) καὶ (and) ὄψιμον (latter rains). ⁸ μακροθυμήσατε (Be patient) καὶ (also) ὑμεῖς (you); στηρίξατε (strengthen) τὰς (the) καρδίας (hearts) ὑμῶν (of you), ὅτι (because) ἡ (the) παρουσία (coming) τοῦ (of the) Κυρίου (Lord) ἤγγικεν (has drawn near). ⁹ μὴ (Not) στενάζετε (grumble) ἀδελφοί (brothers) κατ’ (against) ἀλλήλων (one another), ἵνα (so that) μὴ (not) κριθῆτε (you may be condemned). ἰδοὺ (Behold), ὁ (the) κριτὴς (Judge) πρὸ (before) τῶν (the) θυρῶν (doors) ἕστηκεν (is standing).

⁸ Ἓν (This one) δὲ (however) τοῦτο (thing) μὴ (not) λανθανέτω (let be hidden from) ὑμᾶς (you), ἀγαπητοί (beloved), ὅτι (that) μία (one) ἡμέρα (day) παρὰ (with the) Κυρίῳ (Lord is) ὡς (like) χίλια (a thousand) ἔτη (years), καὶ (and) χίλια (a thousand) ἔτη (years) ὡς (like) ἡμέρα (day) μία (one).

²⁰ Λέγει (Says) ὁ (the One) μαρτυρῶν (testifying) ταῦτα (these things), “Ναί (Yes), ἔρχομαι (I am coming) ταχύ (quickly).” Ἀμήν (Amen). ἔρχου (Come), Κύριε (Lord) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus)!
