⁴ ἐγώ (I) σε (You) ἐδόξασα (glorified) ἐπὶ (on) τῆς (the) γῆς (earth), τὸ (the) ἔργον (work) τελειώσας (having completed) ὃ (that) δέδωκάς (You have given) μοι (Me) ἵνα (that) ποιήσω (I should do).

³⁷ λέγω (I say) γὰρ (for) ὑμῖν (to you) ὅτι (that) τοῦτο (this) τὸ (which) γεγραμμένον (has been written), δεῖ (it behooves) τελεσθῆναι (to be accomplished) ἐν (in) ἐμοί (Me): ‘Τό (-) Καὶ (And) μετὰ (with) ἀνόμων (the lawless) ἐλογίσθη (He was reckoned).’ καὶ (And) γὰρ (for) τὸ (the things) περὶ (concerning) ἐμοῦ (Me) τέλος (an end) ἔχει (have).”

³⁴ Λέγει (Says) αὐτοῖς (to them) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), “Ἐμὸν (My) βρῶμά (food) ἐστιν (is) ἵνα (that) ποιήσω* (I should do) τὸ (the) θέλημα (will) τοῦ (of the One) πέμψαντός (having sent) με (Me), καὶ (and) τελειώσω (should finish) αὐτοῦ (of Him) τὸ (the) ἔργον (work).

³⁶ ἐγὼ (I) δὲ (however) ἔχω (have) τὴν (the) μαρτυρίαν (testimony) μείζω (greater than) τοῦ (that) Ἰωάννου (of John). τὰ (-) γὰρ (For) ἔργα (the works) ἃ (that) δέδωκέν (has given) μοι (Me) ὁ (the) Πατὴρ (Father) ἵνα (that) τελειώσω (I should complete) αὐτά (them), αὐτὰ (same) τὰ (the) ἔργα (works) ἃ (which) ποιῶ (I do), μαρτυρεῖ (bear witness) περὶ (concerning) ἐμοῦ (Me) ὅτι (that) ὁ (the) Πατήρ (Father) με (Me) ἀπέσταλκεν (has sent).

³ Ἀπεκρίθη (Answered) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), “Οὔτε (Neither) οὗτος (this man) ἥμαρτεν (sinned), οὔτε (nor) οἱ (the) γονεῖς (parents) αὐτοῦ (of him); ἀλλ’ (but) ἵνα (it was that) φανερωθῇ (should be displayed) τὰ (the) ἔργα (works) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) ἐν (in) αὐτῷ (him).

²⁸ Πάτερ (Father), δόξασόν (glorify) σου (of You) τὸ (the) ὄνομα (name).” Ἦλθεν (Came) οὖν (therefore) φωνὴ (a voice) ἐκ (from) τοῦ (-) οὐρανοῦ (heaven): “Καὶ (Both) ἐδόξασα (I have glorified it), καὶ (and) πάλιν (again) δοξάσω (I will glorify it).”

³¹ Ὅτε (When) οὖν (therefore) ἐξῆλθεν (he had gone out), λέγει (says) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), “Νῦν (Now) ἐδοξάσθη (has been glorified) ὁ (the) Υἱὸς (Son) τοῦ (-) ἀνθρώπου (of Man), καὶ (and) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God) ἐδοξάσθη (has been glorified) ἐν (in) αὐτῷ (Him). ³² εἰ (If) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God) ἐδοξάσθη (is glorified) ἐν (in) αὐτῷ (Him), καὶ (also) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God) δοξάσει (will glorify) αὐτὸν (Him) ἐν (in) αὑτῷ (Himself), καὶ (and) εὐθὺς (immediately) δοξάσει (will glorify) αὐτόν (Him).

¹³ καὶ (And) ὅ¦τι (whatever) ἂν (-) αἰτήσητε (you might ask) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) ὀνόματί (name) μου (of Me), τοῦτο (this) ποιήσω (will I do), ἵνα (so that) δοξασθῇ (may be glorified) ὁ (the) Πατὴρ (Father) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) Υἱῷ (Son).

³¹ ἀλλ’ (but) ἵνα (that) γνῷ (may know) ὁ (the) κόσμος (world) ὅτι (that) ἀγαπῶ (I love) τὸν (the) Πατέρα (Father), καὶ (and) καθὼς (as) ἐνετείλατο (has commanded) μοι (Me) ὁ (the) Πατὴρ (Father), οὕτως (thus) ποιῶ (I do). Ἐγείρεσθε (Rise up), ἄγωμεν (let us go) ἐντεῦθεν (from here).

¹⁰ ἐὰν (If) τὰς (the) ἐντολάς (commandments) μου (of Me) τηρήσητε (you keep), μενεῖτε (you will abide) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) ἀγάπῃ (love) μου (of Me), καθὼς (as) ἐγὼ (I), «τοῦ (the) Πατρός (Father) μου» (of Me) «τὰς (the) ἐντολὰς» (commandments) τετήρηκα (have kept), καὶ (and) μένω (I abide) αὐτοῦ (of Him) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) ἀγάπῃ (love).

³⁰ ὅτε (When) οὖν (therefore) ἔλαβεν (took) τὸ (the) ὄξος (sour wine) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), εἶπεν (He said), “Τετέλεσται (It has been finished).” καὶ (And) κλίνας (having bowed) τὴν (the) κεφαλὴν (head), παρέδωκεν (He yielded up) τὸ (the) πνεῦμα (spirit).

²⁴ ἀλλ’ (But) οὐδενὸς (not any) λόγου (account) ποιοῦμαι (I make) τὴν (my) ψυχὴν (life) τιμίαν (dear) ἐμαυτῷ (to myself), ὡς (so as) τελειῶσαι* (to finish) τὸν (the) δρόμον (course) μου (of me), καὶ (and) τὴν (the) διακονίαν (ministry) ἣν (that) ἔλαβον (I received) παρὰ (from) τοῦ (the) Κυρίου (Lord) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus), διαμαρτύρασθαι (to testify fully) τὸ (the) εὐαγγέλιον (gospel) τῆς (of the) χάριτος (grace) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God).

⁷ τὸν (The) καλὸν (good) ἀγῶνα (fight) ἠγώνισμαι (I have fought), τὸν (the) δρόμον (race) τετέλεκα (I have finished), τὴν (the) πίστιν (faith) τετήρηκα (I have kept).
