¹⁹ Καὶ (And) ἐζήτησαν (sought) οἱ (the) γραμματεῖς (scribes) καὶ (and) οἱ (the) ἀρχιερεῖς (chief priests) ἐπιβαλεῖν (to lay) ἐπ’ (on) αὐτὸν (Him) τὰς (-) χεῖρας (hands) ἐν (in) αὐτῇ (that) τῇ (-) ὥρᾳ (hour); καὶ (and) ἐφοβήθησαν (they feared) τὸν (the) λαόν (people); ἔγνωσαν (they perceived) γὰρ (for) ὅτι (that) πρὸς (against) αὐτοὺς (them) εἶπεν (He was speaking) τὴν (the) παραβολὴν (parable) ταύτην (this).

⁴⁵ Καὶ (And) ἀκούσαντες (having heard) οἱ (the) ἀρχιερεῖς (chief priests) καὶ (and) οἱ (the) Φαρισαῖοι (Pharisees) τὰς (the) παραβολὰς (parables) αὐτοῦ (of Him), ἔγνωσαν (they knew) ὅτι (that) περὶ (about) αὐτῶν (them) λέγει (He speaks). ⁴⁶ καὶ (And) ζητοῦντες (seeking) αὐτὸν (Him) κρατῆσαι (to lay hold of), ἐφοβήθησαν (they feared) τοὺς (the) ὄχλους (crowds), ἐπεὶ (because) εἰς (as) προφήτην (a prophet) αὐτὸν (Him) εἶχον (they were holding).

³ Τότε (Then) συνήχθησαν (were gathered together) οἱ (the) ἀρχιερεῖς (chief priests) καὶ (and) οἱ (the) πρεσβύτεροι (elders) τοῦ (of the) λαοῦ (people) εἰς (in) τὴν (the) αὐλὴν (courtyard) τοῦ (of the) ἀρχιερέως (high priest), τοῦ (who) λεγομένου (is called) Καϊάφα (Caiaphas), ⁴ καὶ (and) συνεβουλεύσαντο (they plotted together), ἵνα (in order that) τὸν (-) Ἰησοῦν (Jesus) δόλῳ (by guile) κρατήσωσιν (they might seize) καὶ (and) ἀποκτείνωσιν (kill).

¹² Καὶ (And) ἐζήτουν (they were seeking) αὐτὸν (Him) κρατῆσαι (to lay hold of), καὶ (and) ἐφοβήθησαν (they feared) τὸν (the) ὄχλον (crowd); ἔγνωσαν (they knew) γὰρ (for) ὅτι (that) πρὸς (against) αὐτοὺς (them) τὴν (the) παραβολὴν (parable) εἶπεν (He had spoken). καὶ (And) ἀφέντες (having left) αὐτὸν (Him), ἀπῆλθον (they went away).

⁴⁷ Καὶ (And) ἦν (He was) διδάσκων (teaching) τὸ (-) καθ’ (every) ἡμέραν (day) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) ἱερῷ (temple); οἱ (the) δὲ (however) ἀρχιερεῖς (chief priests) καὶ (and) οἱ (the) γραμματεῖς (scribes) ἐζήτουν (were seeking) αὐτὸν (Him) ἀπολέσαι (to destroy), καὶ (and) οἱ (the) πρῶτοι (foremost) τοῦ (of the) λαοῦ (people). ⁴⁸ καὶ (And) οὐχ (not) εὕρισκον (they found) τὸ (-) τί (what) ποιήσωσιν (they might do); ὁ (the) λαὸς (people) γὰρ (for) ἅπας (all) ἐξεκρέματο* (were hanging on) αὐτοῦ (His words), ἀκούων (listening).

¹⁴ Ἰδόντες (Having seen) δὲ (now) αὐτὸν (him), οἱ (the) γεωργοὶ (farmers) διελογίζοντο (began reasoning) πρὸς (among) ἀλλήλους (themselves), λέγοντες (saying), ‘Οὗτός (This) ἐστιν (is) ὁ (the) κληρονόμος (heir); ἀποκτείνωμεν (let us kill) αὐτόν (him), ἵνα (so that) ἡμῶν (ours) γένηται (might become) ἡ (the) κληρονομία (inheritance).’
