⁷ ὅταν (When) δὲ (then) ἀκούσητε (you shall hear of) πολέμους (wars) καὶ (and) ἀκοὰς (rumors) πολέμων (of wars), μὴ (not) θροεῖσθε (be disturbed); δεῖ (it must) γενέσθαι (come to pass), ἀλλ’ (but) οὔπω (not yet is) τὸ (the) τέλος (end).

⁷ Οὐαὶ (Woe) τῷ (to the) κόσμῳ (world) ἀπὸ (because of) τῶν (the) σκανδάλων (causes of sin). ἀνάγκη (Necessary are) γὰρ (for) ἐλθεῖν (to come) τὰ (the) σκάνδαλα (stumbling blocks), πλὴν (but) οὐαὶ (woe) τῷ (to the) ἀνθρώπῳ (man) δι’ (by) οὗ (whom) τὸ (the) σκάνδαλον (offense) ἔρχεται (comes)!

⁶ μελλήσετε (You will begin) δὲ (then) ἀκούειν (to hear of) πολέμους (wars) καὶ (and) ἀκοὰς (rumors) πολέμων (of wars). ὁρᾶτε (Behold), μὴ (not) θροεῖσθε (be alarmed); δεῖ (it is necessary) γὰρ (for) γενέσθαι (to take place), ἀλλ’ (but) οὔπω (not yet) ἐστὶν (is) τὸ (the) τέλος (end). ⁷ ἐγερθήσεται (Will rise up) γὰρ (for) ἔθνος (nation) ἐπὶ (against) ἔθνος (nation), καὶ (and) βασιλεία (kingdom) ἐπὶ (against) βασιλείαν (kingdom); καὶ (and) ἔσονται (there will be) λιμοὶ (famines) καὶ (and) σεισμοὶ (earthquakes) κατὰ (in) τόπους (various places).

⁹ ὅταν (When) δὲ (then) ἀκούσητε (you should hear of) πολέμους (wars) καὶ (and) ἀκαταστασίας (commotions), μὴ (not) πτοηθῆτε (be terrified); δεῖ (it behooves) γὰρ (for) ταῦτα (these things) γενέσθαι (to take place) πρῶτον (first), ἀλλ’ (but) οὐκ (not) εὐθέως (immediately is) τὸ (the) τέλος (end).” ¹⁰ Τότε (Then) ἔλεγεν (He was saying) αὐτοῖς (to them), “Ἐγερθήσεται (Will rise up) ἔθνος (nation) ἐπ’ (against) ἔθνος (nation), καὶ (and) βασιλεία (kingdom) ἐπὶ (against) βασιλείαν (kingdom). ¹¹ σεισμοί (Earthquakes) τε (both) μεγάλοι (great), καὶ (and) κατὰ (in different) τόπους (places) λιμοὶ* (famines) καὶ (and) λοιμοὶ* (pestilences) ἔσονται (there will be); φόβητρά (fearful sights) τε (also) καὶ (and) «ἀπ’ (from) οὐρανοῦ» (heaven) σημεῖα (signs) μεγάλα (great) ἔσται (will there be).

¹ Μὴ (Not) ταρασσέσθω (let be troubled) ὑμῶν (of you) ἡ (the) καρδία (heart). πιστεύετε (You believe) εἰς (in) τὸν (-) Θεόν (God), καὶ (also) εἰς (in) ἐμὲ (Me) πιστεύετε (believe).

²⁷ Εἰρήνην (Peace) ἀφίημι (I leave) ὑμῖν (with you); εἰρήνην (peace) τὴν (-) ἐμὴν (My) δίδωμι (I give) ὑμῖν (to you); οὐ (not) καθὼς (as) ὁ (the) κόσμος (world) δίδωσιν (gives), ἐγὼ (I) δίδωμι (give) ὑμῖν (to you). μὴ (Not) ταρασσέσθω (let be troubled) ὑμῶν (of you) ἡ (the) καρδία (heart), μηδὲ (nor) δειλιάτω (let it fear).

³ διανοίγων (opening) καὶ (and) παρατιθέμενος (setting forth) ὅτι (that) τὸν (the) Χριστὸν (Christ) ἔδει (it behooved) παθεῖν (to have suffered), καὶ (and) ἀναστῆναι (to have risen) ἐκ (out from) νεκρῶν (the dead), καὶ (and) ὅτι (that) “Οὗτός (this) ἐστιν (is) ὁ (the) Χριστός (Christ) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), ὃν (whom) ἐγὼ (I) καταγγέλλω (preach) ὑμῖν (to you).”
