²⁹ Ἢ (Or) πῶς (how) δύναταί (is able) τις (anyone) εἰσελθεῖν (to enter) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) οἰκίαν (house) τοῦ (of the) ἰσχυροῦ (strong man) καὶ (and) τὰ (the) σκεύη (goods) αὐτοῦ (of him) ἁρπάσαι (to plunder), ἐὰν (if) μὴ (not) πρῶτον (first) δήσῃ (he bind) τὸν (the) ἰσχυρόν (strong man)? καὶ (And) τότε (then) τὴν (the) οἰκίαν (house) αὐτοῦ (of him) διαρπάσει (he will plunder).

²⁷ ἀλλ’ (But) οὐ (not) δύναται (is able) οὐδεὶς (no one), εἰς (into) τὴν (the) οἰκίαν (house) τοῦ (of the) ἰσχυροῦ (strong man) εἰσελθὼν (having entered), τὰ (the) σκεύη (goods) αὐτοῦ (of him) διαρπάσαι (to plunder), ἐὰν (if) μὴ (not) πρῶτον (first) τὸν (the) ἰσχυρὸν (strong man) δήσῃ (he binds). καὶ (And) τότε (then) τὴν (the) οἰκίαν (house) αὐτοῦ (of him) διαρπάσει (he will plunder).

²¹ Ὅταν (When) ὁ (the) ἰσχυρὸς (strong man) καθωπλισμένος (being armed) φυλάσσῃ (might guard) τὴν (-) ἑαυτοῦ (his) αὐλήν (house), ἐν (in) εἰρήνῃ (peace) ἐστὶν (are) τὰ (the) ὑπάρχοντα (possessions) αὐτοῦ (of him); ²² ἐπὰν (when) δὲ (however) ἰσχυρότερος (one stronger) αὐτοῦ (than he), ἐπελθὼν (having come upon him), νικήσῃ (shall overcome) αὐτόν (him), τὴν (the) πανοπλίαν (complete armor) αὐτοῦ (of him) αἴρει (he takes away) ἐφ’ (in) ᾗ (which) ἐπεποίθει (he had trusted), καὶ (and) τὰ (the) σκῦλα (plunder) αὐτοῦ (of him) διαδίδωσιν (he divides).

⁸ ὁ (The one) ποιῶν (practicing) τὴν (-) ἁμαρτίαν (sin), ἐκ (of) τοῦ (the) διαβόλου (devil) ἐστίν (is), ὅτι (because) ἀπ’ (from) ἀρχῆς (the beginning) ὁ (the) διάβολος (devil) ἁμαρτάνει (has been sinning). εἰς (For) τοῦτο (this reason) ἐφανερώθη (was revealed) ὁ (the) Υἱὸς (Son) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God), ἵνα (so that) λύσῃ (He might destroy) τὰ (the) ἔργα (works) τοῦ (of the) διαβόλου (devil).

⁴ Ὑμεῖς (You) ἐκ (from) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (God) ἐστε (are), τεκνία (little children), καὶ (and) νενικήκατε (have overcome) αὐτούς (them), ὅτι (because) μείζων (greater) ἐστὶν (is) ὁ (the One) ἐν (in) ὑμῖν (you) ἢ (than) ὁ (the one) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) κόσμῳ (world).

⁷ Καὶ (And) ἐγένετο (there was) πόλεμος (war) ἐν (in) τῷ (-) οὐρανῷ (heaven): ὁ (-) Μιχαὴλ (Michael) καὶ (and) οἱ (the) ἄγγελοι (angels) αὐτοῦ (of him) τοῦ (-) πολεμῆσαι (warred) μετὰ (against) τοῦ (the) δράκοντος (dragon), καὶ (and) ὁ (the) δράκων (dragon) ἐπολέμησεν (warred back), καὶ (and) οἱ (the) ἄγγελοι (angels) αὐτοῦ (of him). ⁸ καὶ (And) οὐκ (not) ἴσχυσεν* (had he strength), οὐδὲ (nor) τόπος (a place) εὑρέθη (was found) αὐτῶν (for them) ἔτι (any longer) ἐν (in) τῷ (-) οὐρανῷ (heaven). ⁹ καὶ (And) ἐβλήθη (was thrown out) ὁ (the) δράκων (dragon) ὁ (-) μέγας (great), ὁ (the) ὄφις (serpent) ὁ (-) ἀρχαῖος (ancient), ὁ (who) καλούμενος (is called) Διάβολος (the devil) καὶ (and) Ὁ (-) Σατανᾶς (Satan), ὁ (-) πλανῶν (deceiving) τὴν (the) οἰκουμένην (inhabited world) ὅλην (whole). ἐβλήθη (He was thrown down) εἰς (to) τὴν (the) γῆν (earth), καὶ (and) οἱ (the) ἄγγελοι (angels) αὐτοῦ (of him) μετ’ (with) αὐτοῦ (him) ἐβλήθησαν (were thrown down). ¹⁰ Καὶ (And) ἤκουσα (I heard) φωνὴν (a voice) μεγάλην (great) ἐν (in) τῷ (-) οὐρανῷ (heaven), λέγουσαν (saying): “Ἄρτι (Now) ἐγένετο (have come) ἡ (the) σωτηρία (salvation), καὶ (and) ἡ (the) δύναμις (power), καὶ (and) ἡ (the) βασιλεία (kingdom) τοῦ (of the) Θεοῦ (God) ἡμῶν (of us), καὶ (and) ἡ (the) ἐξουσία (authority) τοῦ (the) Χριστοῦ (Christ) αὐτοῦ (of Him), ὅτι (because) ἐβλήθη (has been thrown down) ὁ (the) κατήγωρ (accuser) τῶν (of the) ἀδελφῶν (brothers) ἡμῶν (of us), ὁ (the one) κατηγορῶν (accusing) αὐτοὺς (them) ἐνώπιον (before) τοῦ (the) Θεοῦ (God) ἡμῶν (of us) ἡμέρας (day) καὶ (and) νυκτός (night).

¹ Καὶ (And) εἶδον (I saw) ἄγγελον (an angel) καταβαίνοντα (descending) ἐκ (out of) τοῦ (-) οὐρανοῦ (heaven), ἔχοντα (holding) τὴν (the) κλεῖν (key) τῆς (of the) ἀβύσσου (Abyss), καὶ (and) ἅλυσιν (a chain) μεγάλην (great) ἐπὶ (in) τὴν (the) χεῖρα (hand) αὐτοῦ (of him). ² καὶ (And) ἐκράτησεν (he seized) τὸν (the) δράκοντα (dragon), ὁ (the) ὄφις (serpent) ὁ (-) ἀρχαῖος (ancient), ὅς (who) ἐστιν (is) Διάβολος (the devil) καὶ (and) Ὁ (-) Σατανᾶς (Satan), καὶ (and) ἔδησεν (bound) αὐτὸν (him) χίλια (for a thousand) ἔτη (years). ³ καὶ (And) ἔβαλεν (he cast) αὐτὸν (him) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) ἄβυσσον (Abyss), καὶ (and) ἔκλεισεν (shut) καὶ (and) ἐσφράγισεν (sealed it) ἐπάνω (over) αὐτοῦ (him), ἵνα (so that) μὴ (not) πλανήσῃ (he should deceive) ἔτι (any longer) τὰ (the) ἔθνη (nations), ἄχρι (until) τελεσθῇ (were completed) τὰ (the) χίλια (thousand) ἔτη (years). μετὰ (After these) ταῦτα (things), δεῖ (it is necessary for) λυθῆναι (to be released) αὐτὸν (him) μικρὸν (for a little) χρόνον (time).

⁷ Καὶ (And) ὅταν (when) τελεσθῇ (shall have been completed) τὰ (the) χίλια (thousand) ἔτη (years), λυθήσεται (will be released) ὁ (-) Σατανᾶς (Satan) ἐκ (out of) τῆς (the) φυλακῆς (prison) αὐτοῦ (of him), ⁸ καὶ (and) ἐξελεύσεται (will go out) πλανῆσαι (to deceive) τὰ (the) ἔθνη (nations) τὰ (-) ἐν (in) ταῖς (the) τέσσαρσιν (four) γωνίαις (corners) τῆς (of the) γῆς (earth), τὸν (-) Γὼγ (Gog) καὶ (and) Μαγώγ (Magog), συναγαγεῖν (to gather together) αὐτοὺς (them) εἰς (unto) τὸν (the) πόλεμον (war), ὧν (of whom) ὁ (the) ἀριθμὸς (number is) αὐτῶν (of them) ὡς (like) ἡ (the) ἄμμος (sand) τῆς (of the) θαλάσσης (sea). ⁹ Καὶ (And) ἀνέβησαν (they marched up) ἐπὶ (over) τὸ (the) πλάτος (breadth) τῆς (of the) γῆς (earth) καὶ (and) ἐκύκλευσαν (encircled) τὴν (the) παρεμβολὴν (camp) τῶν (of the) ἁγίων (saints) καὶ (and) τὴν (the) πόλιν (city) τὴν (-) ἠγαπημένην (having been beloved). καὶ (But) κατέβη (came down) πῦρ (fire) ἐκ (out of) τοῦ (-) οὐρανοῦ (heaven) καὶ (and) κατέφαγεν (devoured) αὐτούς (them).
