⁴⁹ Οὕτως (Thus) ἔσται (will it be) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) συντελείᾳ (consummation) τοῦ (of the) αἰῶνος (age); ἐξελεύσονται (will go out) οἱ (the) ἄγγελοι (angels), καὶ (and) ἀφοριοῦσιν (will separate) τοὺς (the) πονηροὺς (evil) ἐκ (from) μέσου (the midst) τῶν (of the) δικαίων (righteous),

³ Καθημένου (As was sitting) δὲ (now) αὐτοῦ (He) ἐπὶ (upon) τοῦ (the) ὄρους (Mount) τῶν (-) Ἐλαιῶν (of Olives), προσῆλθον (came to) αὐτῷ (Him) οἱ (the) μαθηταὶ (disciples) κατ’ (in) ἰδίαν (private), λέγοντες (saying), “Εἰπὲ (Tell) ἡμῖν (us), πότε (when) ταῦτα (these things) ἔσται (will be)? καὶ (And) τί (what is) τὸ (the) σημεῖον (sign) τῆς (-) σῆς (of Your) παρουσίας (coming) καὶ (and) συντελείας (of the consummation) τοῦ (of the) αἰῶνος (age)?”

³¹ Ὅταν (When) δὲ (then) ἔλθῃ (comes) ὁ (the) υἱὸς (Son) τοῦ (-) ἀνθρώπου (of Man) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) δόξῃ (glory) αὐτοῦ (of Him), καὶ (and) πάντες (all) οἱ (the) ἄγγελοι (angels) μετ’ (with) αὐτοῦ (Him), τότε (then) καθίσει (He will sit) ἐπὶ (upon the) θρόνου (throne) δόξης (of glory) αὐτοῦ (of Him).

²⁰ διδάσκοντες (teaching) αὐτοὺς (them) τηρεῖν (to observe) πάντα (all things), ὅσα (whatever) ἐνετειλάμην (I commanded) ὑμῖν (you). καὶ (And) ἰδοὺ (behold), ἐγὼ (I) μεθ’ (with) ὑμῶν (you) εἰμι (am) πάσας (all) τὰς (the) ἡμέρας (days), ἕως (until) τῆς (the) συντελείας (completion) τοῦ (of the) αἰῶνος (age).”

¹⁷ Οὐ (Not) γάρ (for) ἐσμεν (we are), ὡς (like) οἱ (the) πολλοὶ (many), καπηλεύοντες (peddling) τὸν (the) λόγον (word) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God); ἀλλ’ (but) ὡς (as) ἐξ (of) εἰλικρινείας (sincerity), ἀλλ’ (but) ὡς (as) ἐκ (of) Θεοῦ (God), κατέναντι (before) Θεοῦ (God) ἐν (in) Χριστῷ (Christ) λαλοῦμεν (we speak).

³ Φοβοῦμαι (I am afraid) δὲ (however), μή (lest) πως (by any means) ὡς (as) ὁ (the) ὄφις (serpent) ἐξηπάτησεν (deceived) Εὕαν (Eve) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) πανουργίᾳ (craftiness) αὐτοῦ (of him), φθαρῇ (might be corrupted) τὰ (the) νοήματα (minds) ὑμῶν (of you) ἀπὸ (from) τῆς (the) ἁπλότητος (simplicity) καὶ (and) τῆς (the) ἁγνότητος (purity) τῆς (-) εἰς (in) ‹τὸν› (-) Χριστόν (Christ).

¹³ οἱ (-) γὰρ (For) τοιοῦτοι (such are) ψευδαπόστολοι (false apostles), ἐργάται (workers) δόλιοι (deceitful), μετασχηματιζόμενοι (disguising themselves) εἰς (as) ἀποστόλους (apostles) Χριστοῦ (of Christ). ¹⁴ καὶ (And) οὐ (no) θαῦμα (wonder); αὐτὸς (himself) γὰρ (for) ὁ (-) Σατανᾶς (Satan) μετασχηματίζεται (masquerades) εἰς (as) ἄγγελον (an angel) φωτός (of light). ¹⁵ οὐ (It is not) μέγα (surprising) οὖν (therefore), εἰ (if) καὶ (also) οἱ (the) διάκονοι (servants) αὐτοῦ (of him) μετασχηματίζονται (masquerade) ὡς (as) διάκονοι (servants) δικαιοσύνης (of righteousness), ὧν (whose) τὸ (-) τέλος (end) ἔσται (will be) κατὰ (according to) τὰ (the) ἔργα (deeds) αὐτῶν (of them).

²⁶ Ἐπεὶ (Otherwise) ἔδει (it was necessary for) αὐτὸν (Him) πολλάκις (repeatedly) παθεῖν (to have suffered) ἀπὸ (from) καταβολῆς (the foundation) κόσμου (of the world). νυνὶ (Now) δὲ (however) ἅπαξ (once) ἐπὶ (in) συντελείᾳ (the consummation) τῶν (of the) αἰώνων (ages), εἰς (for) ἀθέτησιν (the putting away) τῆς (of) ἁμαρτίας (sin), διὰ (by) τῆς (the) θυσίας (sacrifice) αὐτοῦ (of Himself) πεφανέρωται (He has been revealed).

⁸ Νήψατε (Be sober-minded); γρηγορήσατε (watch). ὁ (The) ἀντίδικος (adversary) ὑμῶν (of You), διάβολος (the devil), ὡς (as) λέων (a lion) ὠρυόμενος (roaring) περιπατεῖ (prowls about), ζητῶν (seeking) τινα (whom) καταπιεῖν (to devour),

¹⁴ Προεφήτευσεν* (Prophesied) δὲ (then) καὶ (also) τούτοις (as to these) ἕβδομος (the seventh) ἀπὸ (from) Ἀδὰμ (Adam), Ἑνὼχ (Enoch), λέγων (saying): “Ἰδοὺ (Behold), ἦλθεν (has come) Κύριος (the Lord) ἐν (amidst) ἁγίαις (holy ones) μυριάσιν (myriads) αὐτοῦ (of His),

⁹ καὶ (And) ἐβλήθη (was thrown out) ὁ (the) δράκων (dragon) ὁ (-) μέγας (great), ὁ (the) ὄφις (serpent) ὁ (-) ἀρχαῖος (ancient), ὁ (who) καλούμενος (is called) Διάβολος (the devil) καὶ (and) Ὁ (-) Σατανᾶς (Satan), ὁ (-) πλανῶν (deceiving) τὴν (the) οἰκουμένην (inhabited world) ὅλην (whole). ἐβλήθη (He was thrown down) εἰς (to) τὴν (the) γῆν (earth), καὶ (and) οἱ (the) ἄγγελοι (angels) αὐτοῦ (of him) μετ’ (with) αὐτοῦ (him) ἐβλήθησαν (were thrown down).

¹⁴ καὶ (And) πλανᾷ (it deceives) τοὺς (those) κατοικοῦντας (dwelling) ἐπὶ (on) τῆς (the) γῆς (earth), διὰ (by reason of) τὰ (the) σημεῖα (signs) ἃ (that) ἐδόθη (were given) αὐτῷ (to it) ποιῆσαι (to perform) ἐνώπιον (before) τοῦ (the) θηρίου (beast), λέγων (telling) τοῖς (those) κατοικοῦσιν (dwelling) ἐπὶ (on) τῆς (the) γῆς (earth) ποιῆσαι (to make) εἰκόνα (an image) τῷ (to the) θηρίῳ (beast) ὃς (that) ἔχει (has) τὴν (the) πληγὴν (wound) τῆς (of the) μαχαίρης (sword) καὶ (and) ἔζησεν (has lived).

¹⁵ Καὶ (And) ἄλλος (another) ἄγγελος (angel) ἐξῆλθεν (came out) ἐκ (of) τοῦ (the) ναοῦ (temple), κράζων (crying) ἐν (in) φωνῇ (a voice) μεγάλῃ (loud) τῷ (to the One) καθημένῳ (sitting) ἐπὶ (on) τῆς (the) νεφέλης (cloud), “Πέμψον (Put forth) τὸ (the) δρέπανόν (sickle) σου (of You) καὶ (and) θέρισον (reap), ὅτι (because) ἦλθεν (has come) ἡ (the) ὥρα (hour) θερίσαι (to reap), ὅτι (because) ἐξηράνθη (has ripened) ὁ (the) θερισμὸς (harvest) τῆς (of the) γῆς (earth).” ¹⁶ καὶ (And) ἔβαλεν (swung) ὁ (the One) καθήμενος (sitting) ἐπὶ (upon) τῆς (the) νεφέλης (cloud) τὸ (the) δρέπανον (sickle) αὐτοῦ (of Him) ἐπὶ (upon) τὴν (the) γῆν (earth), καὶ (and) ἐθερίσθη (was harvested) ἡ (the) γῆ (earth). ¹⁷ Καὶ (And) ἄλλος (another) ἄγγελος (angel) ἐξῆλθεν (came) ἐκ (out of) τοῦ (the) ναοῦ (temple) τοῦ (-) ἐν (in) τῷ (-) οὐρανῷ (heaven), ἔχων (having) καὶ (also) αὐτὸς (he) δρέπανον (a sickle) ὀξύ (sharp). ¹⁸ Καὶ (And) ἄλλος (another) ἄγγελος (angel) ἐξῆλθεν (came) ἐκ (out of) τοῦ (the) θυσιαστηρίου (altar), ὁ (-) ἔχων (having) ἐξουσίαν (authority) ἐπὶ (over) τοῦ (the) πυρός (fire), καὶ (and) ἐφώνησεν (he called) φωνῇ (in a voice) μεγάλῃ (loud) τῷ (to the one) ἔχοντι (having) τὸ (the) δρέπανον (sickle) τὸ (-) ὀξὺ (sharp), λέγων (saying), “Πέμψον (Put forth) σου (your) τὸ (-) δρέπανον (sickle) τὸ (-) ὀξὺ (sharp), καὶ (and) τρύγησον (gather) τοὺς (the) βότρυας (clusters) τῆς (from the) ἀμπέλου (vine) τῆς (of the) γῆς (earth), ὅτι (because) ἤκμασαν (have fully ripened) αἱ (the) σταφυλαὶ (grapes) αὐτῆς (of it).” ¹⁹ Καὶ (And) ἔβαλεν (put forth) ὁ (the) ἄγγελος (angel) τὸ (the) δρέπανον (sickle) αὐτοῦ (of him) εἰς (to) τὴν (the) γῆν (earth), καὶ (and) ἐτρύγησεν (gathered) τὴν (the) ἄμπελον (vine) τῆς (of the) γῆς (earth), καὶ (and) ἔβαλεν (cast them) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) ληνὸν (winepress) τοῦ (of the) θυμοῦ (wrath) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) τὸν (-) μέγαν (great).
