²² Συστρεφομένων (Were abiding) δὲ (now) αὐτῶν (they) ἐν (in) τῇ (-) Γαλιλαίᾳ (Galilee), εἶπεν (said) αὐτοῖς (to them) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), “Μέλλει (Is about) ὁ (the) Υἱὸς (Son) τοῦ (-) ἀνθρώπου (of Man) παραδίδοσθαι (to be betrayed) εἰς (into) χεῖρας (the hands) ἀνθρώπων (of men), ²³ καὶ (and) ἀποκτενοῦσιν (they will kill) αὐτόν (Him), καὶ (and) τῇ (on the) τρίτῃ (third) ἡμέρᾳ (day) ἐγερθήσεται (He will be raised up).” καὶ (And) ἐλυπήθησαν (they were grieved) σφόδρα (deeply).

² “Οἴδατε (You know) ὅτι (that) μετὰ (after) δύο (two) ἡμέρας (days) τὸ (the) πάσχα (Passover) γίνεται (takes place), καὶ (and) ὁ (the) Υἱὸς (Son) τοῦ (-) ἀνθρώπου (of Man) παραδίδοται (is delivered) εἰς (over) τὸ (-) σταυρωθῆναι (to be crucified).”

⁶⁶ τί (What) ὑμῖν (you) δοκεῖ (do think)?” Οἱ (-) δὲ (And) ἀποκριθέντες (answering) εἶπαν (they said), “Ἔνοχος (Deserving) θανάτου (of death) ἐστίν (He is).”

¹ Πρωΐας (Morning) δὲ (then) γενομένης (having arrived), συμβούλιον (counsel) ἔλαβον (took) πάντες (all) οἱ (the) ἀρχιερεῖς (chief priests) καὶ (and) οἱ (the) πρεσβύτεροι (elders) τοῦ (of the) λαοῦ (people) κατὰ (against) τοῦ (-) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus), ὥστε (so that) θανατῶσαι (they might put to death) αὐτόν (him).

⁶⁴ ἠκούσατε (You heard) τῆς (the) βλασφημίας (blasphemy). τί (What) ὑμῖν (to you) φαίνεται (does it appear)?” Οἱ (-) δὲ (And) πάντες (all) κατέκριναν (condemned) αὐτὸν (Him) ἔνοχον (deserving) εἶναι (to be) θανάτου (of death). ⁶⁵ Καὶ (And) ἤρξαντό (began) τινες (some) ἐμπτύειν (to spit upon) αὐτῷ (Him), καὶ (and) περικαλύπτειν (to cover up) αὐτοῦ (of Him) τὸ (the) πρόσωπον (face), καὶ (and) κολαφίζειν (to strike) αὐτὸν (Him), καὶ (and) λέγειν (to say) αὐτῷ (to Him), “Προφήτευσον (Prophesy)!” καὶ (And) οἱ (the) ὑπηρέται (officers) ῥαπίσμασιν (with the palms) αὐτὸν (Him) ἔλαβον (received).

⁷¹ Οἱ (-) δὲ (And) εἶπαν (they said), “Τί (What) ἔτι (any more) ἔχομεν (have we) μαρτυρίας (of witness) χρείαν (need)? αὐτοὶ (We ourselves) γὰρ (for) ἠκούσαμεν (have heard it) ἀπὸ (from) τοῦ (the) στόματος (mouth) αὐτοῦ (of Him).”

²³ τοῦτον (Him) τῇ (by the) ὡρισμένῃ (determinate) βουλῇ (plan) καὶ (and) προγνώσει (foreknowledge) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God), ἔκδοτον (delivered up) διὰ (by) χειρὸς (hands) ἀνόμων (lawless), προσπήξαντες (having crucified), ἀνείλατε (You put to death),
