⁴ καὶ (And) ἐξαλείψει (He will wipe away) πᾶν (every) δάκρυον (tear) ἐκ (from) τῶν (the) ὀφθαλμῶν (eyes) αὐτῶν (of them), καὶ (and) ὁ (-) θάνατος (death) οὐκ (not) ἔσται (will be) ἔτι (any longer) οὔτε (nor) πένθος (mourning) οὔτε (nor) κραυγὴ (crying) οὔτε (nor) πόνος (pain); οὐκ (not) ἔσται (they will be) ἔτι (any longer), ὅτι (because) τὰ (the) πρῶτα (former things) ἀπῆλθαν (have passed away).”

³⁵ ὁ (The) οὐρανὸς (heaven) καὶ (and) ἡ (the) γῆ (earth) παρελεύσεται (will pass away), οἱ (-) δὲ (but) λόγοι (the words) μου (of Me) οὐ (no) μὴ (not) παρέλθωσιν (shall pass away).

³¹ καὶ (and) οἱ (those) χρώμενοι (using) τὸν (the) κόσμον (world), ὡς (as) μὴ (not) καταχρώμενοι (using it as their own). παράγει (Is passing away) γὰρ (for) τὸ (the) σχῆμα (present form) τοῦ (of the) κόσμου (world) τούτου (this).

²⁶ ἔσχατος (The last) ἐχθρὸς (enemy) καταργεῖται (to be abolished is) ὁ (-) θάνατος (death).

⁵⁴ Ὅταν (When) δὲ (now) τὸ (the) φθαρτὸν (perishable) τοῦτο (this) ἐνδύσηται (shall have put on) (τὴν) (the) ἀφθαρσίαν (imperishable), καὶ (and) τὸ (the) θνητὸν (mortal) τοῦτο (this) ἐνδύσηται (shall have put on) ἀθανασίαν (immortality), τότε (then) γενήσεται (will come to pass) ὁ (the) λόγος (word) ὁ (-) γεγραμμένος (having been written): “Κατεπόθη (Has been swallowed up) ὁ (-) θάνατος (death) εἰς (in) νῖκος (victory).” ⁵⁵ “Ποῦ (Where) σου (of you), θάνατε (O death), τὸ (the) νῖκος (victory)? ποῦ (Where) σου (of you), θάνατε (O death), τὸ (the) κέντρον (sting)?” ⁵⁶ Τὸ (-) δὲ (And) κέντρον (the sting) τοῦ (-) θανάτου (of death is) ἡ (-) ἁμαρτία (sin); ἡ (-) δὲ (and) δύναμις (the power) τῆς (-) ἁμαρτίας (of sin), ὁ (the) νόμος (law); ⁵⁷ τῷ (to) δὲ (however) Θεῷ (God) χάρις (be thanks), τῷ (the One) διδόντι (giving) ἡμῖν (us) τὸ (the) νῖκος (victory) διὰ (through) τοῦ (the) Κυρίου (Lord) ἡμῶν (of us) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus) Χριστοῦ (Christ). ⁵⁸ Ὥστε (Therefore), ἀδελφοί (brothers) μου (of me) ἀγαπητοί (beloved), ἑδραῖοι (steadfast) γίνεσθε (be), ἀμετακίνητοι (immovable), περισσεύοντες (abounding) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) ἔργῳ (work) τοῦ (of the) Κυρίου (Lord) πάντοτε (always), εἰδότες (knowing) ὅτι (that) ὁ (the) κόπος (toil) ὑμῶν (of you) οὐκ (not) ἔστιν (is) κενὸς (in vain) ἐν (in) Κυρίῳ (the Lord).

¹⁷ “Διὸ (Therefore) ἐξέλθατε (come out) ἐκ (from) μέσου (the midst) αὐτῶν (of them) καὶ (and) ἀφορίσθητε (be separate), λέγει (says) Κύριος (the Lord), καὶ (and) ἀκαθάρτου (unclean) μὴ (nothing) ἅπτεσθε (touch), κἀγὼ (and I) εἰσδέξομαι (will receive) ὑμᾶς (you).”

¹⁴ Ἐπεὶ (Since) οὖν (therefore) τὰ (the) παιδία (children) κεκοινώνηκεν (have partaken) αἵματος (of blood) καὶ (and) σαρκός (of flesh) καὶ (also), αὐτὸς (He) παραπλησίως (likewise) μετέσχεν (took part in) τῶν (the) αὐτῶν (same things), ἵνα (so that) διὰ (through) τοῦ (His) θανάτου (death), καταργήσῃ (He might destroy) τὸν (the one) τὸ (the) κράτος (power) ἔχοντα (holding) τοῦ (-) θανάτου (of death), τοῦτ’ (that) ἔστιν (is), τὸν (the) διάβολον (devil), ¹⁵ καὶ (and) ἀπαλλάξῃ (might set free) τούτους (those) ὅσοι (who) φόβῳ (fear) θανάτου (of death) διὰ (through) παντὸς (all) τοῦ (their time) ζῆν (to live), ἔνοχοι (subject) ἦσαν (were) δουλείας (to slavery).

¹⁰ Ἥξει (Will come) δὲ (however) ἡμέρα (the day) Κυρίου (of the Lord) ὡς (like) κλέπτης (a thief), ἐν (in) ᾗ (which) οἱ (the) οὐρανοὶ (heavens) ῥοιζηδὸν (with a roar) παρελεύσονται (will pass away), στοιχεῖα (elements) δὲ (then) καυσούμενα (burning with heat) λυθήσεται (will be dissolved), καὶ (and) γῆ (the earth) καὶ (and) τὰ (the) ἐν (in) αὐτῇ (it) ἔργα (works) [οὐχ] (not) εὑρεθήσεται (will be found).

¹⁷ καὶ (And) ὁ (the) κόσμος (world) παράγεται (is passing away), καὶ (and) ἡ (the) ἐπιθυμία (desire) αὐτοῦ (of it); ὁ (the one) δὲ (however) ποιῶν (doing) τὸ (the) θέλημα (will) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) μένει (abides) εἰς (to) τὸν (the) αἰῶνα (age).

¹⁷ ὅτι (because) τὸ (the) Ἀρνίον (Lamb) τὸ (-) ἀνὰ (in the) μέσον (center) τοῦ (of the) θρόνου (throne) ποιμανεῖ (will shepherd) αὐτούς (them), καὶ (and) ὁδηγήσει (He will lead) αὐτοὺς (them) ἐπὶ (to) ζωῆς (living) πηγὰς (fountains) ὑδάτων (of waters), καὶ (and) ἐξαλείψει (will wipe away) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God) πᾶν (every) δάκρυον (tear) ἐκ (from) τῶν (the) ὀφθαλμῶν (eyes) αὐτῶν (of them).’”

¹⁴ Καὶ (And) ὁ (-) θάνατος (Death) καὶ (and) ὁ (-) ᾅδης (Hades) ἐβλήθησαν (were cast) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) λίμνην (lake) τοῦ (-) πυρός (of fire). οὗτος (This) ὁ (the) θάνατος (death) ὁ (-) δεύτερός (second) ἐστιν (is) ἡ (the) λίμνη (lake) τοῦ (of) πυρός (fire).

¹ Καὶ (And) εἶδον (I saw) οὐρανὸν (a heaven) καινὸν (new), καὶ (and) γῆν (an earth) καινήν (new), ὁ (-) γὰρ (for) πρῶτος (the first) οὐρανὸς (heaven) καὶ (and) ἡ (the) πρώτη (first) γῆ (earth) ἀπῆλθαν (had passed away), καὶ (and) ἡ (the) θάλασσα (sea) οὐκ (not) ἔστιν (is) ἔτι (any longer).

³ Καὶ (And) πᾶν (any) κατάθεμα (curse) οὐκ (not) ἔσται (there will be) ἔτι (any longer). καὶ (And) ὁ (the) θρόνος (throne) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) καὶ (and) τοῦ (of the) Ἀρνίου (Lamb) ἐν (in) αὐτῇ (it) ἔσται (will be), καὶ (and) οἱ (the) δοῦλοι (servants) αὐτοῦ (of Him) λατρεύσουσιν (will serve) αὐτῷ (Him).
