³ λογίζῃ (Suppose you) δὲ (now) τοῦτο (this), ὦ (O) ἄνθρωπε (man), ὁ (the one) κρίνων (judging) τοὺς (those) τὰ (-) τοιαῦτα (such things) πράσσοντας (practicing), καὶ (and) ποιῶν (doing) αὐτά (them yourself), ὅτι (that) σὺ (you) ἐκφεύξῃ (will escape) τὸ (the) κρίμα (judgment) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God)?

³³ ὄφεις (Serpents)! γεννήματα (Offspring) ἐχιδνῶν (of vipers)! πῶς (How) φύγητε (shall you escape) ἀπὸ (from) τῆς (the) κρίσεως (sentence) τῆς (-) γεέννης (of hell)?

⁵³ ἢ (Or) δοκεῖς (think you) ὅτι (that) οὐ (not) δύναμαι (I am able) παρακαλέσαι (to call upon) τὸν (the) Πατέρα (Father) μου (of Me), καὶ (and) παραστήσει (He will furnish) μοι (to Me) ἄρτι (presently) πλείω (more than) δώδεκα (twelve) λεγιῶνας (legions) ἀγγέλων (of angels)?

¹⁴ Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) εἶπεν (He said) αὐτῷ (to him), “Ἄνθρωπε (Man), τίς (who) με (Me) κατέστησεν (appointed) κριτὴν (a judge) ἢ (or) μεριστὴν (partitioner) ἐφ’ (over) ὑμᾶς (you)?”

⁵⁸ Καὶ (And) μετὰ (after) βραχὺ (a little), ἕτερος (another) ἰδὼν (having seen) αὐτὸν (him), ἔφη (was saying), “Καὶ (Also) σὺ (you) ἐξ (of) αὐτῶν (them) εἶ (are).” Ὁ (-) δὲ (But) Πέτρος (Peter) ἔφη (was saying), “Ἄνθρωπε (Man), οὐκ (not) εἰμί (I am).”

⁶⁰ Εἶπεν (Said) δὲ (however) ὁ (-) Πέτρος (Peter), “Ἄνθρωπε (Man), οὐκ (not) οἶδα (I know) ὃ (what) λέγεις (you say).” καὶ (And) παραχρῆμα (immediately) ἔτι (while) λαλοῦντος (he was speaking) αὐτοῦ (of him), ἐφώνησεν (crowed) ἀλέκτωρ (the rooster).

³² οἵτινες (who) τὸ (the) δικαίωμα (righteous decree) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) ἐπιγνόντες (having known), ὅτι (that) οἱ (those) τὰ (such) τοιαῦτα (things) πράσσοντες (doing), ἄξιοι (worthy) θανάτου (of death) εἰσίν (are), οὐ (not) μόνον (only) αὐτὰ (them) ποιοῦσιν (are practicing), ἀλλὰ (but) καὶ (also) συνευδοκοῦσιν (are approving of) τοῖς (those) πράσσουσιν (practicing them).

³ ὅταν (For when) λέγωσιν (they might say), “Εἰρήνη (Peace) καὶ (and) ἀσφάλεια (security),” τότε (then) αἰφνίδιος (suddenly) αὐτοῖς (upon them) ἐφίσταται* (comes) ὄλεθρος (destruction), ὥσπερ (as) ἡ (the) ὠδὶν (labor pains) τῇ (to her) ἐν (in) γαστρὶ (womb) ἐχούσῃ (having); καὶ (and) οὐ (no) μὴ (not) ἐκφύγωσιν (shall they escape).

³ πῶς (how) ἡμεῖς (we) ἐκφευξόμεθα (will escape) τηλικαύτης (such a great) ἀμελήσαντες (having neglected) σωτηρίας (a salvation), ἥτις (which) ἀρχὴν (a commencement) λαβοῦσα (having received), λαλεῖσθαι (declared) διὰ (by) τοῦ (the) Κυρίου (Lord), ὑπὸ (by) τῶν (those) ἀκουσάντων (having heard), εἰς (to) ἡμᾶς (us) ἐβεβαιώθη (it was confirmed),

²⁵ Βλέπετε (Take heed) μὴ (lest) παραιτήσησθε (you refuse) τὸν (the One) λαλοῦντα (speaking). εἰ (If) γὰρ (for) ἐκεῖνοι (they) οὐκ (not) ἐξέφυγον (escaped), ἐπὶ (on) γῆς (earth) παραιτησάμενοι (having refused) τὸν (the One) χρηματίζοντα (divinely instructing them), πολὺ (much) μᾶλλον (less) ἡμεῖς (we) οἱ (-) τὸν (the One) ἀπ’ (from) οὐρανῶν (the heavens) ἀποστρεφόμενοι (turning away from),
