¹ If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become a sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. ² And if I should have prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I should have all faith so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. ³ And if I may give away all my possessions, and I may deliver up my body that I may boast, but have not love, I am profited nothing. ⁴ Love is patient, love is kind, love is not envious, it is not boastful, it is not puffed up. ⁵ It does not act unbecomingly, it does not seek the things of its own, it is not easily provoked, it keeps no account of wrongs. ⁶ It does not delight at unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth. ⁷ It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. ⁸ Love never fails; but if there are prophesies, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will be ceased; if there is knowledge it will pass away. ⁹ For we know in part and we prophesy in part; ¹⁰ but when the perfect should come, the partial will be done away. ¹¹ When I was a child, I was speaking like a child, I was thinking like a child, I was reasoning like a child; when I became a man, I did away with the things of the child. ¹² For presently we see through a glass in obscurity; but then, face to face. Presently, I know in part; but then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known. ¹³ But now these three things abide: faith, hope, love; but the greatest of these is love.

⁴⁵ Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, neither did you to Me.’

¹⁵ For if on account of food your brother is grieved, no longer are you walking according to love. Do not destroy with food that one of you for whom Christ died.

¹ Now concerning the things sacrificed to idols, we know indeed we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.

⁸ For truly, to one is given a word of wisdom by the Spirit, and to another a word of knowledge according to the same Spirit,

¹⁶ And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body,” not on account of this is it not of the body.

²⁹ Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? ³⁰ Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret?

² And if I should have prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I should have all faith so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. ³ And if I may give away all my possessions, and I may deliver up my body that I may boast, but have not love, I am profited nothing.

⁸ Love never fails; but if there are prophesies, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will be ceased; if there is knowledge it will pass away.

⁶ But now brothers, if I should come to you speaking in tongues, what will I profit you, unless I should speak to you either in revelation, or in knowledge, or in prophecy, or in teaching? ⁷ Even lifeless things giving a sound, whether the flute or harp, unless they give distinction to the sounds, how will it be known what is being piped or being harped? ⁸ And indeed if the trumpet gives an indistinct sound, who will prepare himself for battle?

⁴ that he was caught up into Paradise, and he heard inexpressible words, not being permitted to man to speak.

⁶ For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any power, but only faith working through love.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

⁵ Now the goal of our instruction is love out of a pure heart, and a good conscience, and a sincere faith,

⁸ above all things, having fervent love among yourselves, because love covers over a multitude of sins,

¹⁸ For speaking arrogant words of vanity, they entice to sensuality with the passions of the flesh those barely escaping from those living in error,

²² Many will say to Me in that the day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ ²³ And then I will declare unto them, ‘I never knew you; depart you from Me, those working lawlessness.’

¹¹ And answering He said to them, “Because it has been granted to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of the heavens, but to them it has not been granted.

²⁰ And He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly I say to you, if you have faith as of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. And nothing will be impossible for you.”

¹⁹ And having seen one fig tree along the road, He came to it and found nothing on it except only leaves. And He says to it, “Never let there be any more fruit from you, to the age.” And the fig tree withered immediately.

²¹ And Jesus answering said to them, “Truly I say to you, if you have faith and not do doubt, you will do not only this of the fig tree, but even if you should say to this mountain, ‘Be you taken away and be you cast into the sea,’ it will come to pass.

²² And Jesus answering, says to them, “Have faith from God. ²³ Truly I say to you that whoever shall say to this mountain, ‘Be you taken away and be you cast into the sea,’ and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that what he says takes place, it will be done for him.

⁵ And the apostles said to the Lord, “Add to us faith!” ⁶ And the Lord said, “If you have faith like a grain of mustard, you would have said to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and be planted in the sea,’ and it would have obeyed you.

²⁵ For I do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, of this mystery, so that you may not be wise in yourselves: A hardening in part has happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles may come in.

²⁵ Now to Him being able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery having been kept secret in times of the ages,

¹ So let a man regard us as servants of Christ and stewards of God’s mysteries.

¹⁹ Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing, but keeping the commandments of God.

⁴ Therefore concerning the eating of the things sacrificed to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world and that there is no God except one.

⁸ For truly, to one is given a word of wisdom by the Spirit, and to another a word of knowledge according to the same Spirit, ⁹ and to a different one faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, ¹⁰ and to another working of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another distinguishing of spirits, and to a different one various kinds of tongues, and to another interpretation of tongues.

²⁸ And some indeed God has appointed in the church, first apostles, secondly prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, various kinds of tongues.

¹ Earnestly pursue love, and earnestly desire spiritual gifts, and especially that you might prophesy. ² For the one speaking in a tongue speaks not to men, but to God. For no one hears, but in the Spirit he utters mysteries.

⁶ But now brothers, if I should come to you speaking in tongues, what will I profit you, unless I should speak to you either in revelation, or in knowledge, or in prophecy, or in teaching? ⁷ Even lifeless things giving a sound, whether the flute or harp, unless they give distinction to the sounds, how will it be known what is being piped or being harped? ⁸ And indeed if the trumpet gives an indistinct sound, who will prepare himself for battle? ⁹ So also you, unless you give intelligible speech with the tongue, how will it be known what is being spoken? For you will be speaking into the air.

³⁹ So, my brothers, earnestly desire to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak in tongues.

²² If anyone does not love the Lord, let him be accursed. Maranatha!

¹¹ I have become a fool; you compelled me. For I ought to have been commended by you, for in no way was I inferior to those “most eminent apostles,” even though I am nothing.

¹⁶ Now I say, walk by the Spirit, and you should not gratify the desires of the flesh.

³ For if anyone thinks himself to be something being nothing, he deceives himself.

⁴ which, by reading, you are able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ,

¹⁹ and also for me, that in the opening of my mouth, divine utterance may be given to me to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel,

²⁶ the mystery having been hidden from the ages and from the generations, but now having been manifested to His saints,

¹⁶ And confessedly, great is the mystery of godliness: Who was revealed in the flesh, was justified in the Spirit, was seen by angels, was proclaimed among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.

⁸ The one not loving has not known God, because God is love.

²⁰ If anyone should say, “I love God,” and should hate his brother, he is a liar. For the one not loving his brother, whom he has seen, is not able to love God, whom he has not seen. ²¹ And this commandment we have from Him, that the one loving God should love his brother also.

¹ And beware not to do your righteousness before men in order to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward in the presence of your Father in the heavens. ² Therefore when you perform acts of charity, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may have glory from men. Truly I say to you, they have their recompense. ³ But you, doing acts of charity, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, ⁴ so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father, the One seeing in secret, will reward you.

⁵ And they do all their deeds in order to be seen by men. For they broaden their phylacteries and enlarge their tassels,

²² And having heard, Jesus said to him, “To you, yet one thing is lacking: Sell all, as much as you have, and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in the heavens; and come, follow Me.”

²⁸ And Peter said, “Behold, we having left the own, followed You.”

⁸ And Zacchaeus having stood, said to the Lord, “Behold, half of my possessions, Lord, I give to the poor; and if I have defrauded anything of anyone, I restore it fourfold.”

³ And He said, “Truly I say to you that this poor widow has cast in more than all of them. ⁴ For these all cast in gifts out of that which was abounding to them; but she, out of her poverty, did cast in all the livelihood that she had.”

⁶³ It is the Spirit giving life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit and they are life.

⁴³ For they loved the glory of men more than the glory of God.

³⁷ Peter says to Him, “Lord, why am I not able to follow You presently? I will lay down my life for You.”

¹³ Greater love has no one than this, that one should lay down his life for his friends.

¹³ Then Paul answered, “What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I have readiness not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”

²⁶ We should not become boastful, provoking one another, envying one another.

¹⁵ For some, even from envy and strife, are proclaiming Christ, but some also from goodwill— ¹⁶ the ones indeed out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel; ¹⁷ but the others are proclaiming Christ out of selfish ambition, not purely, supposing to add tribulation to my chains. ¹⁸ What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretext or in truth, Christ is proclaimed. And in this I rejoice. Yes, and I will rejoice,

²⁰ according to my earnest expectation and hope that I will be ashamed in nothing, but in all boldness also now as always, Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death. ²¹ For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.

³ nothing according to self-interest or according to vain conceit, but in humility be esteeming one another surpassing themselves,

⁸ For bodily exercise is of a little profit, but godliness is profitable for everything, holding the promise of the present life and of the one coming.

⁹ Do not be carried away by various and strange teachings; for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, in which those being devoted were not profited.

¹⁴ What is the profit, my brothers, if anyone says to have faith, but has no works? Is the faith able to save him? ¹⁵ Now if a brother or a sister is without clothes and lacking of daily food, ¹⁶ and anyone out from you says to them, “Go in peace; be warmed and be filled,” but does not give to them the needful things for the body, what is the profit? ¹⁷ So also, faith by itself if it has not works, is dead.

¹⁸ For he knew that they had delivered Him up through envy.

³⁵ But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He is kind to the ungrateful and evil. ³⁶ Be you merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

⁹ And the patriarchs, having envied Joseph, sold him into Egypt. But God was with him

²⁹ being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, malice; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness; gossips,

¹³ We should walk properly, as in daytime; not in reveling and drinking, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in dissension and jealousy.

³ for you are still fleshly. For where jealousy and strife are among you, are you not fleshly, and are walking according to man?

⁶ Now I have applied these things, brothers, to myself and Apollos, on account of you, so that in us you may learn, “not beyond what has been written,” so that not one of you should be puffed up for one over the other.

¹⁸ Now some have become puffed up, as if I were not coming to you.

² And you are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, so that the one having done this deed might be taken out of your midst!

⁶ in purity, in knowledge, in patience, in kindness; in the Holy Spirit, in genuine love;

²⁰ For I fear lest perhaps having come, I may not find you such as I wish, and I might be found by you such as you do not wish; lest perhaps there may be quarreling, jealousy, anger, contentions, slander, gossip, conceit, disorder;

²¹ envyings, drunkennesses, carousing, and things like these, as to which I forewarn you, even as I warned before, that those doing such things will not inherit God’s kingdom. ²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

² with all humility and gentleness; with patience bearing with one another in love;

³² And be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, as also in Christ God forgave you.

¹⁵ For some, even from envy and strife, are proclaiming Christ, but some also from goodwill—

¹ Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affections and compassions, ² fulfill my joy so that you may be of the same mind, having the same love, united in soul, minding the same thing, ³ nothing according to self-interest or according to vain conceit, but in humility be esteeming one another surpassing themselves, ⁴ each considering not the things of themselves, but each also the things of others. ⁵ Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus:

¹¹ being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might, unto all endurance and patience with joy,

¹⁸ Let no one disqualify you, delighting in humility and the worship of the angels, detailing what he has seen, being puffed up vainly by his mind of the flesh,

¹² Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on hearts of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience,

¹⁴ And we exhort you, brothers, to admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient toward all.

⁴ he is puffed up, knowing nothing, but unhealthy about controversies and disputes about words, out of which come envy, strife, slander, evil suspicions,

²⁵ in gentleness disciplining those opposing, lest ever God may give them repentance unto a knowledge of the truth,

¹⁰ But you have closely followed my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, love, endurance,

² Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; convict, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and instruction.

³ For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, being deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.

¹⁴ But if you have bitter jealousy and self-interest in your heart, do not boast of it and lie against the truth. ¹⁵ This is not the wisdom coming down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. ¹⁶ For where jealousy and self-interest exist, there will be disorder and every evil thing. ¹⁷ But the wisdom from above is indeed first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and of good fruits, impartial, sincere.

⁵ Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit that He has made to dwell in us yearns with envy”?

¹ Therefore having put aside all malice, and all deceit, and hypocrisy, and envies, and all evil speakings,

⁸ Now the end: All be single-minded, sympathetic, loving as brothers, tender-hearted, humble,

⁷ and into godliness brotherly affection, and into brotherly affection love.

¹⁶ By this we have known love, because He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. ¹⁷ Now whoever might have the world’s goods, and might see his brother having need, and might close up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? ¹⁸ Little children, we should love not in word, nor in tongue, but in action and in truth.

¹¹ Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

²² But I say to you that everyone being angry with his brother will be liable to the judgment, and whoever shall say to his brother ‘Raca,’ will be liable to the Sanhedrin. But whoever shall say, ‘Fool!’ will be liable to the Gehenna of fire.

⁴ And Jesus, having known their thoughts, said, “Why do you think evil in your hearts?

⁵ And having looked around on them with anger, being grieved at the hardness of their heart, He says to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored.

³⁹ And the Pharisee, the one having invited Him, having seen, spoke within himself, saying, “If this were a prophet, He would have known who and what the woman is who touches Him; for she is a sinner.”

¹² So then, each of us will give account concerning himself to God. ¹³ No longer, therefore, should we judge one another; but rather determine this, not to put any stumbling block or snare before your brother. ¹⁴ I know and I am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean of itself, except to him reckoning anything to be unclean—to that one it is unclean. ¹⁵ For if on account of food your brother is grieved, no longer are you walking according to love. Do not destroy with food that one of you for whom Christ died.

¹ Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of the weak and not to please ourselves. ² Let each of us please the neighbor unto the good, for edification.

³⁶ But if anyone supposes to be behaving improperly to his virgin, if she is beyond youth, and it ought to be so, let him do what he wills; he does not sin; let them marry.

²⁴ Let no one seek the good of himself, but that of the other.

³³ as I also please all in all things, not seeking my own profit, but that of the many, that they may be saved.

¹³ Judge for yourselves: Is it becoming for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? ¹⁴ Does not even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him, ¹⁵ but if a woman has long hair, it is to her glory? For the long hair instead of a covering is given to her. ¹⁶ Now if anyone is inclined to be contentious, we have no such practice, nor do the churches of God.

¹⁸ For first indeed, of you coming together in an assembly, I hear there to be divisions among you, and in part I believe it.

²¹ For in eating, one takes first the own supper. And indeed this one is hungry, but that one is drunken. ²² What! Have you no houses in which to eat and to drink? Or do you despise the church of God and put to shame those having nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you in this? I do not praise you!

²⁵ that there should be no division in the body, but the members should have the same concern for one another.

³³ For He is not the God of disorder, but of peace. As in all the churches of the saints, ³⁴ let the women be silent in the churches. For it is not allowed to them to speak, but to be in submission, as the Law also says. ³⁵ But if they desire to learn anything, let them ask the own husbands at home; for it is shameful for a woman to speak in the church. ³⁶ Or has the word of God gone out from you? Or has it come to you only? ³⁷ If anyone considers himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him recognize that the things I write to you are the commands of the Lord. ³⁸ But if anyone is ignorant, let him be ignored. ³⁹ So, my brothers, earnestly desire to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak in tongues. ⁴⁰ But let all things be done properly and with order.

¹⁹ how that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not reckoning their trespasses to them, and having put into us the word of reconciliation.

¹³ For you brothers were called to freedom, but not the freedom for an opportunity to the flesh. Rather, serve one another through love.

¹ Brothers, even if a man should be caught in some trespass, you the spiritual ones restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself, lest you also be tempted. ² Bear one another’s burdens and thus you will fulfill the law of Christ.

²¹ For those all are seeking the things of themselves, not the things of Jesus Christ.

⁸ Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is venerable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if any excellence and if any praise—think on these things.

⁷ For you yourselves know how it behooves you to imitate us, because we were not idle among you,

¹⁰ Because of this, I endure all things for the sake of the elect, so that they also may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.

¹⁹ Know this, my beloved brothers. But let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow unto anger;

¹⁶ By this we have known love, because He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. ¹⁷ Now whoever might have the world’s goods, and might see his brother having need, and might close up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?

⁴¹ And as He drew near, having seen the city, He wept over it, ⁴² saying, “If you had known in this day, even you, the things for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes.

⁵ And they rejoiced and agreed to give him money.

³² who having known the righteous judgment of God, that those doing such things are worthy of death, not only are practicing them, but are also approving of those practicing them.

⁹ Let love be unfeigned: abhorring evil, cleaving to good,

⁹ Now I rejoice, not that you were grieved, but that you were grieved into repentance. For you were grieved according to God, so that you might suffer loss in nothing through us. ¹⁰ For grief according to God produces repentance to salvation without regret; but the world’s grief produces death. ¹¹ For behold, how much earnestness this very same thing—to have been grieved according to God—has produced in you: but reasoned defense, but indignation, but fear, but longing, but zeal, but vindication! In everything, you have proved yourselves to be innocent in this matter. ¹² So even if I wrote to you, it was not for the sake of the one having done wrong, nor for the sake of the one having suffered wrong, but rather for the sake of your earnestness for us being revealed to you before God. ¹³ On account of this, we have been comforted. And besides our comfort, we have rejoiced the more abundantly rather at the joy of Titus, because his spirit has been refreshed by all of you. ¹⁴ For if I have boasted anything to him about you, I was not put to shame; but as we have spoken all things to you in truth, so also our boasting to Titus became truth. ¹⁵ And his affections are more abundantly toward you, remembering the obedience of all of you, how you received him with fear and trembling. ¹⁶ I rejoice that in everything I am confident in you.

⁴ always making the supplication with joy in my every supplication for all of you,

¹⁸ What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretext or in truth, Christ is proclaimed. And in this I rejoice. Yes, and I will rejoice,

¹⁷ But even if I am being poured out as a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all. ¹⁸ And likewise you also be glad and rejoice with me.

¹⁸ For many are walking—of whom I have told you often and now I say even weeping—as enemies of the cross of Christ,

⁶ But presently, Timothy having come to us from you and having brought good news to us of your faith and love, and that always you have a good remembrance of us, longing to see us just as also we you, ⁷ because of this, brothers, we were encouraged as to you in all our distress and tribulation, through your faith. ⁸ For now we live, if you are standing firm in the Lord. ⁹ For what thanksgiving are we able to give to God concerning you in return for all the joy that we rejoice before our God because of you, ¹⁰ night and day imploring exceedingly for us to see your face and to supply the things lacking of you in faith?

¹² in order that all those not having believed the truth but having delighted in unrighteousness should be judged.

⁴ I rejoiced exceedingly that I have found some of your children walking in truth, just as we have received a commandment from the Father.

³ For I rejoiced exceedingly of the brothers coming and bearing witness of your truth, just as you are walking in truth. ⁴ I have no greater joy than these things, that I should hear of my children walking in the truth.

²² And you will be hated by all on account of My name; but the one having endured to the end, he will be saved.

³⁷ And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner. And she having known that He had reclined in the Pharisee’s house, having taken an alabaster flask of fragrant oil, ³⁸ and having stood behind Him at His feet weeping, she began to wet His feet with the tears, and she was wiping them with the hairs of her head, and was kissing His feet, and was anointing them with the fragrant oil. ³⁹ And the Pharisee, the one having invited Him, having seen, spoke within himself, saying, “If this were a prophet, He would have known who and what the woman is who touches Him; for she is a sinner.”

⁴⁴ And having turned to the woman, He was saying to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered into your house; you did not give water for My feet, but she wet My feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. ⁴⁵ You did not give to Me a kiss, but from which time I came in, she herself has not ceased kissing My feet. ⁴⁶ You did not anoint My head with oil, but she herself anointed My feet with fragrant oil.

⁴ And having run to the front, he went up into a sycamore-fig tree, so that he might see Him; for He was about to pass that way. ⁵ And as He came to the place, Jesus having looked up, said to him, “Zacchaeus, having hurried, come down, for it behooves Me to stay in your house today.” ⁶ And having hurried, he came down and received Him, rejoicing. ⁷ And having seen it, all were grumbling, saying, “He has entered to stay with a sinful man.” ⁸ And Zacchaeus having stood, said to the Lord, “Behold, half of my possessions, Lord, I give to the poor; and if I have defrauded anything of anyone, I restore it fourfold.” ⁹ And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham. ¹⁰ For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that having been lost.”

²⁴ For in this hope we were saved; but hope being seen is no hope; for does anyone hope for what he sees?

¹ Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of the weak and not to please ourselves.

¹² If others partake of the authority over you, should we not more? But we did not use this right. Instead, we bear all things, so that we should not place any hindrance to the gospel of Christ.

¹⁸ What then is my reward? That in preaching the gospel, I should offer the gospel free of charge, so as not to use up my right in the gospel. ¹⁹ For being free from all, I myself became servant to all, so that I might win the more. ²⁰ And to the Jews I became like a Jew, so that I might win the Jews. To those under the Law, as under the Law (myself not being under the Law) so that I might win those under the Law. ²¹ To those outside the Law, as outside the Law (not being outside the law of God, but under the law of Christ) so that I might win those outside the Law. ²² To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all these things to all, so that by all means I might save some.

⁴ Love is patient, love is kind, love is not envious, it is not boastful, it is not puffed up.

⁸ I robbed other churches, having received support for service toward you. ⁹ And being present with you and having been in need, I did not burden anyone; for the brothers having come from Macedonia completely filled up my need, and in everything I kept and will keep myself unburdensome to you. ¹⁰ The truth of Christ is in me, that this boasting of mine will not be sealed up in the regions of Achaia. ¹¹ Why? Because I do not love you? God knows I do! ¹² But what I do, I will continue doing, so that I might cut off the opportunity of those desiring an opportunity that they might be found as also we in what they are boasting.

² Bear one another’s burdens and thus you will fulfill the law of Christ.

⁴ so as for us ourselves to boast in you in the churches of God about your endurance and faith in all your persecutions, and in the tribulations that you are bearing.

³ Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. ⁴ No one serving as a soldier entangles himself in the affairs of this life, that he might please the one having enlisted him. ⁵ Now also, if anyone competes, he is not crowned unless he shall have competed lawfully. ⁶ It is necessary for the hardworking farmer first to partake of the fruits. ⁷ Consider the things I am saying, for the Lord will give you understanding in all things. ⁸ Remember Jesus Christ, having been raised out from the dead, of the seed of David, according to my gospel, ⁹ in which I suffer hardship even to chains as an evildoer. But the word of God is not bound! ¹⁰ Because of this, I endure all things for the sake of the elect, so that they also may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.

²⁴ And it behooves the bond-servant of the Lord not to quarrel, but to be gentle toward all, able to teach, forbearing,

¹¹ persecutions, sufferings such as happened to me in Antioch, in Iconium, in Lystra; what manner of persecutions I endured! And yet the Lord delivered me out of all.

⁵ But you, be sober in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fully carry out your ministry.

¹³ Therefore we should go forth to Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach.

¹² Blessed is the man who endures trial, because, having been approved, he will receive the crown of life that He has promised to those loving Him.

²⁴ Who Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that, having been dead to sins, we might live to righteousness. “By whose scourge marks you have been healed.”

³² But I begged for you, that your faith may not fail. And you, when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”

⁴ And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit was giving to them to utter forth.

⁶ And of Paul having laid the hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they were speaking in tongues and prophesying.

¹⁰ and to another working of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another distinguishing of spirits, and to a different one various kinds of tongues, and to another interpretation of tongues.

²⁸ And some indeed God has appointed in the church, first apostles, secondly prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, various kinds of tongues.

¹ If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become a sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. ² And if I should have prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I should have all faith so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

¹⁰ but when the perfect should come, the partial will be done away.

¹³ But now these three things abide: faith, hope, love; but the greatest of these is love.

¹³ In saying, “new,” He has made obsolete the first; and that which is growing old and aging is near vanishing.

²⁷ All things have been delivered to Me by My Father. And no one knows the Son, except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father, except the Son, and to whom the Son might choose to reveal Him.

³⁴ “For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been His counselor?”

⁹ But as it has been written: “What no eye has seen, and no ear has heard, and has not entered into heart of man, what God has prepared for those loving Him.”

² If anyone thinks to have known anything, not yet does he know as it is necessary to know.

¹² For presently we see through a glass in obscurity; but then, face to face. Presently, I know in part; but then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known.

⁸ To me, the very least of all saints, was given this grace: to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ

¹⁸ so that you may be fully able, with all the saints, to comprehend what is the breadth and length and height and depth, ¹⁹ and to know the love of Christ surpassing knowledge, so that you may be filled unto all the fullness of God.

² that their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and to all the riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, which is Christ, ³ in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and of knowledge.

¹⁰ Concerning this salvation, the prophets sought out and searched out diligently, having prophesied of the grace toward you, ¹¹ inquiring into what or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ in them was signifying, testifying beforehand of the sufferings of Christ and the glories after these, ¹² to whom it was revealed that they were serving not themselves, but you, in those things which now have been proclaimed to you by those having proclaimed the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit having been sent from heaven, into which angels desire to look.

² Beloved, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He is.

⁷ For we walk by faith, not by sight. ⁸ Now we are confident and are pleased rather to be absent out of the body, and to be at home with the Lord.

²² And I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty is its temple, and the Lamb. ²³ And the city has no need of the sun, nor of the moon, that they should shine in it; for the glory of God enlightened it, and its lamp is the Lamb.

⁴ And they will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads. ⁵ And there will be no night there, and they have no need of the light of a lamp and of the light of the sun, because the Lord God will enlighten upon them, and they will reign to the ages of the ages.

¹ And I, brothers, was not able to speak to you as to spiritual, but as fleshly—as to infants in Christ. ² I gave you milk to drink, not solid food, for not yet were you able. In fact, now you are still not able,

²⁰ Brothers, do not be children in the minds. Yet in the evil, be little children; but in the thinking, be full grown.

¹ Now I say, for as long a time as the heir is a child, he differs not from a slave, though being owner of everything.

⁸ Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

¹⁰ See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I say to you that their angels in the heavens continually behold the face of my Father, who is in the heavens.

¹⁵ As the Father knows Me, I also know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.

¹⁸ For I reckon that the sufferings of the present time are not comparable to the coming glory to be revealed to us.

³ But if anyone loves God, he is known by Him.

⁹ For we know in part and we prophesy in part; ¹⁰ but when the perfect should come, the partial will be done away.

¹⁸ And we all having been unveiled in face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image, from glory to glory, even as from the Lord, the Spirit.

⁷ For we walk by faith, not by sight.

¹² Not that already I have obtained it or already have been perfected, but I am pursuing, if also I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus.

²³ because if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, this one is like a man looking at his natural face in a mirror,

⁴ And they will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads.

²⁹ Jesus answered, “The foremost is, ‘Hear this O Israel: The Lord our God is One Lord, ³⁰ and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ ³¹ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is not another commandment greater than these.”

¹³ And those upon the rock are those who receive the word with joy when they hear; and these have no root, who believe for a time, and in time of testing fall away. ¹⁴ And that having fallen into the thorns, these are those having heard, and moving along are choked under the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and do not mature. ¹⁵ And that in the good soil, these are those who, having heard the word, keep it in a worthy and good heart and bring forth fruit by perseverance.

²⁷ And answering, he said, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind’ and ‘Your neighbor as yourself.’”

⁴ and perseverance, character; and character, hope. ⁵ And hope does not make us ashamed, because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, the One having been given to us.

²⁴ For in this hope we were saved; but hope being seen is no hope; for does anyone hope for what he sees? ²⁵ But if we hope for what we do not see, we await in patience.

¹³ Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, for you to abound in hope in the power of the Holy Spirit.

¹⁴ If the work of anyone that he built up will remain, he will receive a reward.

¹ If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become a sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. ² And if I should have prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I should have all faith so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. ³ And if I may give away all my possessions, and I may deliver up my body that I may boast, but have not love, I am profited nothing. ⁴ Love is patient, love is kind, love is not envious, it is not boastful, it is not puffed up. ⁵ It does not act unbecomingly, it does not seek the things of its own, it is not easily provoked, it keeps no account of wrongs. ⁶ It does not delight at unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth. ⁷ It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. ⁸ Love never fails; but if there are prophesies, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will be ceased; if there is knowledge it will pass away.

¹ Earnestly pursue love, and earnestly desire spiritual gifts, and especially that you might prophesy.

¹⁴ Let all things of you be done in love.

¹⁰ For we must all be revealed before the judgment seat of Christ, that each may receive back the things done through the body according to what he did, whether good or evil.

¹⁵ And He died for all that those living no longer should live to themselves, but to the One having died for them and having been raised again.

¹³ For you brothers were called to freedom, but not the freedom for an opportunity to the flesh. Rather, serve one another through love. ¹⁴ For the entire Law is fulfilled in in this one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” ¹⁵ But if you bite and devour one another, take heed, lest you might be consumed by one another. ¹⁶ Now I say, walk by the Spirit, and you should not gratify the desires of the flesh. ¹⁷ For the flesh desires against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh. For these are opposed to one another in order that you should not do those things you might wish. ¹⁸ But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law. ¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, ²⁰ idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, contentions, dissensions, factions,

⁹ And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment,

⁵ because of the hope being laid up for you in the heavens, which you heard of before in the word of truth, the gospel,

²⁷ to whom God has willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory,

¹⁴ And beyond all these, put on love, which is the bond of perfect unity.

⁸ But we being of the day should be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and the helmet, the hope of salvation,

⁷ For God has not given us a spirit of cowardice, but of power, and of love, and of self-control.

¹¹ And we desire each of you to show the same earnestness, toward the full assurance of the hope unto the end,

¹⁹ which we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and unshakable and entering into that within the veil,

³⁵ Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.

³⁹ But we are not of those drawing back to destruction, but of faith to the preserving of the soul.

²¹ who by Him believe in God, the one having raised Him up out from the dead and having given Him glory, so as for your faith and hope to be in God.

¹⁰ The one loving his brother abides in the light, and in him there is no cause for stumbling.

¹⁴ I have written to you, fathers, because you know Him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one.

²⁴ You, let what you have heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you have heard from the beginning should abide in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father.

³ And everyone having this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.

⁹ Anyone having been born of God does not practice sin, because His seed abides in him, and he is not able to continue sinning, because he has been born of God.

⁷ Beloved, we should love one another, because love is from God; and everyone loving has been born from God and knows God. ⁸ The one not loving has not known God, because God is love. ⁹ In this the love of God has been revealed among us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, so that we might live through Him. ¹⁰ In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son as a propitiation for our sins. ¹¹ Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. ¹² No one has seen God at any time; if we should love one another, God abides in us, and His love is having been perfected in us. ¹³ By this we know that we abide in Him and He in us: because He has given to us from out of His Spirit. ¹⁴ And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world. ¹⁵ Whoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. ¹⁶ And we have come to know and have come to believe the love that God has as to us. God is love, and the one abiding in love abides in God, and God abides in him. ¹⁷ In this, love has been perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment that, just as He is, also are we in this world. ¹⁸ There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment; and the one fearing has not been perfected in love.

¹ Everyone believing that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone loving the One having begotten Him also loves the one having been begotten from Him. ² By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. ³ For this is the love of God, that we should keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome. ⁴ For everyone having been born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory having overcome the world: our faith. ⁵ Now who is the one overcoming the world, except the one believing that Jesus is the Son of God?

⁴ I rejoiced exceedingly that I have found some of your children walking in truth, just as we have received a commandment from the Father. ⁵ And now I implore you, lady, not as though I am writing to you a new commandment, but that which we have had from the beginning, that we should love one another. ⁶ And this is love, that we should walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it.
