1 Peter 4 Cross References - BLB

1 Therefore Christ having suffered in the flesh, you also arm yourselves with the same mind, because the one having suffered in the flesh is done with sin, 2 so as to live the remaining time in the flesh no longer to men’s desires, but to the will of God. 3 For the time past is sufficient to have carried out the desire of the Gentiles, having walked in sensuality, lusts, drunkenness, orgies, carousing, and abominable idolatries. 4 With respect to this, they think it strange of you not running with them into the same overflow of debauchery, speaking evil of you, 5 who will give account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead. 6 For to this end the gospel was proclaimed even to the dead, so that they might be judged indeed according to men in the flesh, but they might live in the spirit according to God. 7 Now the end of all has drawn near. Therefore be clear-minded and be sober for the purpose of prayers, 8 above all things, having fervent love among yourselves, because love covers over a multitude of sins, 9 hospitable to one another without complaint, 10 as each has received a gift, to them serving each other as good stewards of the manifold grace of God: 11 if anyone speaks, as oracles of God; if anyone serves, as of strength which God supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory and the power to the ages of the ages. Amen. 12 Beloved, do not be surprised at the fire among you taking place for a trial to you, as if a strange thing were happening to you. 13 But as you have shared in the sufferings of Christ, rejoice, so that also in the revelation of His glory you may rejoice, exulting. 14 If you are insulted in the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. 15 For let not any of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evildoer, or as a troublesome meddler, 16 but if as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this name. 17 For it is the time for the judgment to have begun from the house of God; and if from us first, what will be the outcome of those disobeying the gospel of God? 18 And, “If the righteous one is saved with difficulty, where will appear the ungodly and sinner?” 19 Therefore also, those suffering according to the will of God, let them commit their souls to the faithful Creator in well-doing.

Romans 1:20-32

20 For from the creation of the world His invisible qualities, both His eternal power and divinity, are clearly seen, being understood by the things made, for them to be without excuse. 21 For having known God, they glorified Him not as God, or were thankful; but they became futile in their thinking and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and they changed the glory of the immortal God into a likeness of an image of mortal man and birds and quadrupeds and creeping things. 24 Therefore God gave them up in the desires of their hearts to impurity to dishonor their bodies between themselves, 25 who changed the truth of God into falsehood, and reverenced and served the created thing beyond the One having created it, who is blessed to the ages! Amen. 26 Because of this, God gave up them to passions of dishonor. For even their females changed the natural use into that contrary to nature. 27 And likewise also the males, having left the natural use of the female, were inflamed in their desire toward one another, males with males, working out shame and receiving in themselves the recompense which was fitting of their error. 28 And as they did not see fit to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a depraved mind, to do things not being proper; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, malice; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness; gossips, 30 slanderers, hateful to God, insolent, arrogant, boastful; inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents; 31 foolish, untrustworthy, heartless, unmerciful; 32 who having known the righteous judgment of God, that those doing such things are worthy of death, not only are practicing them, but are also approving of those practicing them.

I am not able to dig; I am ashamed to beg. 4 I know what I will do, so that when I shall have been removed from the management, they might receive me into their homes.’ 5 And having summoned each one of his master’s debtors, he was saying to the first, ‘How much do you owe to my master?’ 6 And he said, ‘A hundred baths of oil.’ And he said to him, ‘Take your bill, and having sat down quickly, write fifty.’ 7 Then he said to another, ‘And how much do you owe?’ And he said, ‘A hundred cors of wheat.’ He says to him, ‘Take your bill and write eighty.’ 8 And the master praised the unrighteous manager because he had acted shrewdly. Behold a small fire, how great a forest it kindles. 6 The tongue also is a fire, the world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, defiling all the body, and setting on fire the course of nature, and itself being set on fire by Gehenna.
