⁴⁰ And he earnestly testified many other words and was exhorting them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.”

⁷ But having seen many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, “Brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? ⁸ Therefore produce fruit worthy of repentance. ⁹ And do not presume to say within yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as father.’ For I say to you that out of these stones God is able to raise up children unto Abraham. ¹⁰ Already now the ax is applied to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree not producing good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

³⁴ Offspring of vipers, how are you able to speak good things, being evil? For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.

⁴ An evil and adulterous generation seeks a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah.” And having left them, He went away.

¹⁷ And Jesus answering said, “O unbelieving and perverted generation, how long will I be with you? How long will I bear with you? Bring him here to Me.”

³³ Serpents! Offspring of vipers! How shall you escape from the sentence of Gehenna?

³⁸ For whoever may be ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man also will be ashamed of him when He shall come in the glory of His Father, with the holy angels.”

³⁶ Watch also at every season, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are about to come to pass and to stand before the Son of Man.”

²⁵ Now there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if every one should be written, I suppose not even the world itself to have space for the books to be written.

⁴² And He instructed us to proclaim to the people and to testify fully that He is the One having been appointed by God as judge of the living and the dead.

²³ Then having appointed him a day, many came to him to the lodging, to whom he expounded from morning to evening, fully testifying to the kingdom of God and persuading them concerning Jesus from both the Law of Moses and the Prophets.

²⁰ Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God is beseeching through us. We implore on behalf of Christ: Be reconciled to God.

³ Now again I testify to every man receiving circumcision that he is a debtor to keep the whole Law.

¹⁷ This therefore I say and testify in the Lord: You are no longer to walk as also the Gentiles are walking, in the futility of their mind,

¹⁵ so that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God unblemished in the midst of a crooked and perverted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,

¹¹ just as you know how each one of you, as a father his own children,

¹⁶ Give heed to yourself and to the teaching. Continue in them; for doing this, you will save both yourself and those hearing you.

¹² Take heed, brothers, lest ever there will be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, into falling away from the living God. ¹³ But encourage one another every day, while it is called today, so that not one of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.

⁸ Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and have purified hearts, you double-minded. ⁹ Be grieved and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning, and the joy to gloom. ¹⁰ Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you.

¹² Through Silvanus, the faithful brother as I regard him, I have written to you through few words, exhorting and testifying this to be the true grace of God, in which you stand.

¹⁷ For you say, ‘I am rich, and I have grown rich, and I have need of nothing.’ And you do not realize that you are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked. ¹⁸ I counsel you to buy from Me gold having been refined by fire so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may be clothed and the shame your of nakedness might not be made manifest, and eye-salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see. ¹⁹ As many as I might love, I rebuke and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent.

⁴ And I heard another voice from heaven, saying: “Come out of her, my people, so that you may not have fellowship in her sins, and so that you may not receive of her plagues. ⁵ For her sins have been heaped as high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.
