¹² But having seen it, Peter answered to the people: “Men of Israel, why do you wonder at this? Or why do you look intently on us as if by our own power or godliness we have made him to walk?

²⁷ John answered and said, “A man is able to receive not one thing if it is not given to him from heaven. ²⁸ You yourselves bear witness to me that I said, ‘I am not the Christ, but I am sent before Him.’

¹⁸ The one speaking from himself seeks the own glory, but the One seeking the glory of the One having sent Him, He is true, and no unrighteousness is in Him.

²² Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man having been set forth by God to you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by Him in your the midst, as you yourselves know,

⁴ who are Israelites, whose is the divine adoption as sons, and the glory, and the covenants, and the lawgiving, and the service, and the promises;

¹ I ask, then did God reject His people? Never may it be! For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.

⁵ Not that we are sufficient from ourselves to reckon anything as of ourselves, but our sufficiency is of God,
