Ephesians 2 Cross References - BLB

1 And you, being dead in your trespasses and sins— 2 in which once you walked according to the age of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, the spirit now working in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom we all also once lived in the desires of our flesh, doing the things willed of the flesh and of its thoughts; and we were by nature children of wrath even as the rest. 4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 made us alive with Christ even we being dead in trespasses—by grace you are saved— 6 and He raised us up together and seated us together in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you are saved through faith, and this not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, having been created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. 11 Therefore remember that formerly you—the Gentiles in the flesh, the ones being called the uncircumcision by that being called the circumcision, made by hands in the flesh— 12 that at that time you were separate from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of the promise, not having hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you, the ones once being far off, have become near by the blood of Christ. 14 For He Himself is our peace, having made both one and having broken down the barrier of the partition of hostility, 15 having annulled in His flesh the law of commandments in ordinances, so that He might create in Himself the two into one new man, making peace, 16 and He might reconcile both to God in one body through the cross, by it having slain the hostility. 17 And having come, He proclaimed the gospel: peace to you, the ones far off, and peace to those near. 18 For through Him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit. 19 So then, you are no longer strangers and aliens, but are fellow citizens of the saints and of the household of God, 20 having been built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the cornerstone, 21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is increasing into a holy temple in the Lord, 22 in whom you also are being built together for a habitation of God in the Spirit.

Is he able to enter into the womb of his mother a second time, and to be born?” 5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless anyone be born of water and of the Spirit, he is not able to enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That having been born of the flesh is flesh, and that having been born of the Spirit is spirit.

Romans 1:24

24 Therefore God gave them up in the desires of their hearts to impurity to dishonor their bodies between themselves,

Romans 3:9-19

9 What then? Are we better? Not at all. For we have already charged both Jews and Greeks all to be under sin. 10 As it has been written: “There is none righteous, not even one; 11 there is none understanding; there is none seeking after God. 12 All have turned away; together they have become worthless; there is none who is practicing good, there is not so much as one. 13 Their throat is a grave having been opened; they keep practicing deceit with their tongues; the venom of vipers is under their lips, 14 of whom the mouth is full of cursing and of bitterness; 15 their feet are swift to shed blood; 16 ruin and misery are in their paths; 17 and the way of peace they have not known. 18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.” 19 Now we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those under the Law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may be under judgment to God.

Romans 3:22-23

22 And the righteousness of God is through faith from Jesus Christ toward all those believing. For there is no distinction, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Romans 5:12-19

12 Because of this, just as sin entered into the world through one man, and death through sin, so also death passed to all men, because all sinned. 13 For until the Law, sin was in the world; but sin is not imputed, there being no law. 14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those not having sinned in the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of the coming One. 15 But so also the gift is not like the trespass. For if by the trespass of the one, the many died, how much more did the grace of God and the gift in grace, which is of the one man Jesus Christ, abound to the many! 16 And the gift is not as through one having sinned. For truly the judgment from one was unto condemnation; but the gift is out of many trespasses unto justification. 17 For if, by the trespass of the one, death reigned through the one, how much more will those receiving the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one, Jesus Christ! 18 So then, just as through one trespass, it is unto condemnation to all men, so also through one act of righteousness it is unto justification of life to all men. 19 For as indeed through the disobedience of the one man, the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the One, the many will be made righteous.

12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, in order to obey its desires.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11

9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous ones will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor coveters, not drunkards, nor verbal abusers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And some of you were such. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Galatians 2:15-16

15 We Jews by birth and not ‘sinners’ of the Gentiles, 16 nevertheless knowing that a man is not justified by works of law, except through faith from Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith from Christ, and not by works of the Law, because by works of the Law not any flesh will be justified.

Galatians 3:22

22 But the Scripture imprisoned all things under sin, so that by faith from Jesus Christ, the promise might be given to those believing.

Galatians 5:16-24

16 Now I say, walk by the Spirit, and you should not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh. For these are opposed to one another in order that you should not do those things you might wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, contentions, dissensions, factions, 21 envyings, drunkennesses, carousing, and things like these, as to which I forewarn you, even as I warned before, that those doing such things will not inherit God’s kingdom. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Now those of Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Ephesians 2:2

2 in which once you walked according to the age of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, the spirit now working in the sons of disobedience,

Ephesians 4:17-19

17 This therefore I say and testify in the Lord: You are no longer to walk as also the Gentiles are walking, in the futility of their mind, 18 being darkened in the understanding, being alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance being in them on account of the hardness of their heart, 19 who, having cast off all feeling, have given themselves up to sensuality for the working of all impurity, with greediness for more.

You kill and covet and are not able to obtain. You fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not ask. 3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, that you may spend it in your pleasures.

1 Peter 2:10-11

10 who once were not a people, but now are the people of God; those not having received mercy, but now having received mercy. 11 Beloved, I exhort you as aliens and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly desires, which war against the soul,

1 Peter 4:2-3

2 so as to live the remaining time in the flesh no longer to men’s desires, but to the will of God. 3 For the time past is sufficient to have carried out the desire of the Gentiles, having walked in sensuality, lusts, drunkenness, orgies, carousing, and abominable idolatries.

1 John 4:10-19

10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son as a propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has seen God at any time; if we should love one another, God abides in us, and His love is having been perfected in us. 13 By this we know that we abide in Him and He in us: because He has given to us from out of His Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world. 15 Whoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. 16 And we have come to know and have come to believe the love that God has as to us. God is love, and the one abiding in love abides in God, and God abides in him. 17 In this, love has been perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment that, just as He is, also are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment; and the one fearing has not been perfected in love. 19 We love because He first loved us.

1 Corinthians 10:19-20

19 Then what do I mean? That what is sacrificed to an idol is anything, or that an idol is anything? 20 Rather, that what the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God. And I do not want you to be fellow partakers with demons.

Galatians 3:16-17

16 Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. It does not say “and to seeds” as of many but “and to your seed” as of One, who is Christ. 17 Now I say this: The Law, having come four hundred and thirty years afterward, does not annul the covenant having been confirmed beforehand by God, so as to nullify the promise.

23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation through faith in His blood, for a showing forth of His righteousness, because of the forbearance of the sins having taken place beforehand, 26 in the forbearance of God, for the showing forth of His righteousness in the present time, for Him to be just, and justifying the one of the faith of Jesus. 27 Where then is boasting? It has been excluded. Through what principle? That of works? No, but through the principle of faith. 28 Therefore we reckon a man to be justified by faith apart from works of the Law. 29 Or is He the God of Jews only, not also of Gentiles? Yes, also of Gentiles, 30 since indeed God is the One who will justify the circumcision by faith and the uncircumcision through the same faith.

Romans 5:9-10

Ephesians 2:19-22

19 So then, you are no longer strangers and aliens, but are fellow citizens of the saints and of the household of God, 20 having been built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the cornerstone, 21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is increasing into a holy temple in the Lord, 22 in whom you also are being built together for a habitation of God in the Spirit.

Ephesians 3:5-8

5 which was not made known to the sons of men in other generations as now it has been revealed in the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets, 6 that the Gentiles are joint-heirs, and a joint-body, and joint-partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus, through the gospel, 7 of which I became servant according to the gift of God’s grace, having been given to me according to the working of His power. 8 To me, the very least of all saints, was given this grace: to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ

Colossians 2:10-14

10 And you are complete in Him, who is the head of all rule and authority, 11 in whom also you were circumcised with the circumcision made without hands in the removal of the body of the flesh, in the circumcision of Christ, 12 having been buried with Him in baptism, in which also you were raised with Him through the faith of the working of God, the One having raised Him out from the dead. 13 And you being dead in the trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, 14 having blotted out the handwriting in the decrees against us, which was adverse to us. 9 which is a symbol for the present time, in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered, not being able to make perfect in regard to conscience of the one worshiping, 10 consisting only in foods and drinks and various washings—ordinances of the flesh being imposed until the time of reformation.

Hebrews 9:23

23 Therefore it was necessary indeed for the representations of the things in the heavens to be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

Hebrews 10:1-10

1 For the Law, having a shadow of the good things coming, not the form of the things themselves, never is able each year, with the same sacrifices which they offer continually, to perfect those drawing near. 2 Otherwise, would they not have ceased being offered, because of those serving having been cleansed once, no longer having conscience of sins? 3 But in these, there is a reminder of sins every year. 4 For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and of goats to take away sins. 5 Therefore coming into the world, He says: “Sacrifice and offering You have not desired, but a body You have prepared me. 6 In burnt offerings and offerings for sin You have not delighted. 7 Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come— in the scroll of the book it is written of Me— to do Your will, O God.’” 8 Saying above, “Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offerings for sin, You have not desired, nor have You delighted in” (which are offered according to the Law), 9 then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will.” He takes away the first that He might establish the second. 10 By that will, we are having been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Hebrews 10:19-22

19 Therefore, brothers, having confidence for entering the holy places by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way, which He dedicated for us through the veil that is His flesh, 21 and having a great priest over the house of God, 22 we should draw near with a sincere heart, in full assurance of faith, our hearts having been sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our body having been washed with pure water.

Galatians 2:20

20 I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. And that which I now live in the flesh, I live through faith from the Son of God, the One having loved me and having given up Himself for me.

1 Peter 4:1-2

Luke 15:5-6

5 And having found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6 And having come to the house, he calls together the friends and the neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep, the one having been lost!’

26 Now likewise also, the Spirit joins to help us in weakness; for we do not know the things which we should pray for as it behooves, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession with inexpressible groanings. 27 And the One searching hearts knows what is the mindset of the Spirit, because He intercedes for the saints according to God.

Galatians 3:26-28

26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male and female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Galatians 4:26-31

26 But the Jerusalem above is free, who is our mother. 27 For it has been written: “Rejoice O barren woman, the one not bearing; break forth and call aloud, the one not travailing; because many more are the children of the desolate woman than of her having the husband.” 28 Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise. 29 But just as at that time the one having been born according to flesh was persecuting the one born according to Spirit, so also it is now. 30 But what does the Scripture say? “Cast out the slave woman and her son, for the son of the slave woman will never inherit along with the son of the free.” 31 So then, brothers, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free.

Revelation 21:12-26

12 having a great and high wall, having twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names having been inscribed which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel. 13 On the east were three gates, and on the north three gates, and on the south three gates, and on the west three gates. 14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. 15 And the one speaking with me had a golden measuring reed, so that he could measure the city, and its gates, and its wall. 16 And the city lies foursquare, and its length the same as also the width. And he measured the city with the reed at twelve thousand stadia. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal. 17 And he measured its wall, one hundred forty-four cubits, the measure of man, that is of the angel. 18 And the structure of its wall was jasper, and the city pure gold, like clear glass, 19 the foundations of the wall of the city having been adorned with every precious stone: the first foundation jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, 20 the fifth sardonyx, the sixth sardius, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst. 21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each one of the gates respectively was of one pearl, and the street of the city pure gold, transparent as glass. 22 And I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty is its temple, and the Lamb. 23 And the city has no need of the sun, nor of the moon, that they should shine in it; for the glory of God enlightened it, and its lamp is the Lamb. 24 And the nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory into it. 25 And its gates shall not be shut by day, for there will be no night there. 26 And they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it.

Luke 20:17-18

17 But having looked at them, He said, “What then is this that has been written: ‘The stone which those building rejected, this has become into the head of the corner’? 18 Everyone falling on that stone will be broken, but on whomever it might fall, it will grind him into powder.”

Acts 4:11-12

1 Corinthians 3:9-11

9 For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building. 10 According to the grace of God having been given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, but another is building upon it. But let each one take heed how he builds upon it. 11 For no one is able to lay another foundation, besides the one being already laid, which is Jesus Christ.

7 Therefore the preciousness is to you believing. 1 Corinthians 3:16-17

13 until we all may attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a complete man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 14 so that no longer we might be infants, being tossed by waves and being carried about by every wind of teaching in the cunning, in the craftiness of men with a view to the scheming of deceit. 15 But speaking the truth in love, we should grow up in all things into Him who is the head, Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, being joined together and being held together by every ligament of its supply, according to the working in the measure of each individual part, the increase of the body makes for itself, to the building up of itself in love.

Hebrews 3:3-4

3 For He has been counted worthy of greater glory than Moses, by so much as the one having built it has greater honor than the house itself. 4 For every house is built by someone, but the One having built everything is God.

17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world is not able to receive, because it does not see Him nor know. But you know Him, for He abides with you and He will be in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I am coming to you. 19 Yet a little while, and the world sees Me no more, but you see Me. Because I live, you also will live. 20 In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. 21 The one having My commandments and keeping them, he is the one loving Me. Now the one loving Me will be loved by My Father. And I will love him, and will show Myself to him.” 22 Judas (not Iscariot) says to Him, “Lord, then what has occurred, that You are about to manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?” 23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word, and My Father will love him, and we will come to him and will make a home with him.

Romans 8:9-11

9 Now you are not in flesh but in Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you; but if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not of Him. 10 But if Christ is in you, the body is indeed dead on account of sin, but the Spirit is life on account of righteousness. 11 And if the Spirit of the One having raised up Jesus out from the dead dwells in you, the One having raised up Christ Jesus out from the dead also will give life to your mortal bodies, on account of His Spirit dwelling in you.
