²⁷ Now My soul has been troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? But on account of this I came to this hour.

²⁵ At that time, Jesus answering said, “I fully consent to You, Father, Lord of the heaven and the earth, that You did hide these things from the wise and learned, and did reveal them to little children.

³⁸ Then He says to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death. Remain here and watch with Me.” ³⁹ And having gone forward a little, He fell upon His face, praying, and saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me. Nevertheless not as I will, but as You.”

⁴² Again for a second time having gone away, He prayed, saying, “My Father, if this is not possible to pass unless I drink it, Your will be done.”

⁵³ Or do you think that I am not able to call upon My Father, and He will furnish to Me presently more than twelve legions of angels? ⁵⁴ How then should the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must be so?”

³³ And He takes Peter and James and John with Him; and He began to be greatly awe-struck and deeply distressed. ³⁴ And He says to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death; remain here and watch.” ³⁵ And having gone forward a little, He fell upon the ground, and was praying that if it is possible, the hour might pass from Him. ³⁶ And He was saying, “Abba, Father, all things are possible to You; take away this cup from Me; but not what I will, but what You will.”

⁴⁹ I came to cast fire upon the earth, and how I wish it were kindled already! ⁵⁰ But I have a baptism with which to be baptized, and how I am distressed until it should be accomplished!

⁴⁴ And having been in agony, He was praying more earnestly. And His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down upon the ground.

⁵³ Every day of Me being with you in the temple, you did not stretch out the hands against Me; but this is your hour, and the power of the darkness.”

³³ Therefore Jesus, when He saw her weeping and the Jews having come with her weeping, was deeply moved in spirit and Himself troubled. ³⁴ And He said, “Where have you laid him?” They say to Him, “Lord, come and see.” ³⁵ Jesus wept.

⁴¹ So they took away the stone. Now Jesus lifted His eyes upwards and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.

²³ And Jesus answered them, saying, “The hour has come that Son of Man should be glorified.

²¹ Having said these things, Jesus was troubled in spirit, and He testified and said, “Truly, truly, I say to you that one of you will betray Me.”

³⁷ Therefore Pilate said to Him, “Then You are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, that I may bear witness to the truth. Everyone being of the truth hears My voice.”

¹⁵ Trustworthy is the saying, and worthy of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost.

¹⁴ Therefore, since the children have partaken of blood and of flesh, He also likewise took part in the same things, so that through His death He might destroy the one holding the power of death, that is, the devil,

⁷ He in the days of His flesh, having offered up both prayers and supplications with loud crying and tears to the One being able to save Him from death, and having been heard because of reverent submission,

⁵ Therefore coming into the world, He says: “Sacrifice and offering You have not desired, but a body You have prepared me. ⁶ In burnt offerings and offerings for sin You have not delighted. ⁷ Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come— in the scroll of the book it is written of Me— to do Your will, O God.’” ⁸ Saying above, “Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offerings for sin, You have not desired, nor have You delighted in” (which are offered according to the Law), ⁹ then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will.” He takes away the first that He might establish the second.
