John 15 Cross References - BLB

1 I am the true vine and My Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch not bearing fruit in Me, He takes it away; and every one bearing fruit, He prunes it that it may bear more fruit. 3 Already you are clean by reason of the word that I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch is not able to bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither you, unless you abide in Me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. The one abiding in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit. For apart from Me you are able to do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown out like the branch and is dried up, and they gather them and cast them into the fire, and it is burned. 7 If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, you shall ask whatever you wish, and to you it will come to pass. 8 In this My Father is glorified, that you should bear much fruit, and you shall be My disciples. 9 As the Father has loved Me, I also have loved you. Abide in My Love. 10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. 11 These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may be in you and your joy may be full. 12 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, that one should lay down his life for his friends. 14 You are My friends, if you do what I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing. But I have called you friends, because all things that I heard from My Father, I have made known to you. 16 You did not chose Me, but I chose you and appointed you, that you should go and you should bear fruit, and your fruit should remain, so that whatever you might ask the Father in My name, He may give you. 17 These things I command you, that you love one another. 18 If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world but I chose you out of the world, on account of this, the world hates you. 20 Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they kept My word, they will keep yours also. 21 But they will do all these things against you on account of My name, because they have not known the One having sent Me. 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have had sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 The one hating Me hates My Father also. 24 If I had not done among them the works that no other has done, they would not have had sin; but now they have both seen and hated both Me and My Father. 25 But this is that the word having been written in their Law may be fulfilled: ‘They hated Me without cause.’ 26 When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes forth from the Father, He will bear witness concerning Me. 27 And you also bear witness, because you are with Me from the beginning.

For practicing these things, never at any time shall you stumble. 11 For in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be richly supplied to you. 12 Therefore I will be ready always to remind you concerning these things, though knowing them and having been strengthened in the truth being present in you. 13 Now I esteem it right, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance, 14 knowing that the putting off of my tabernacle is impending, as also our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me. 15 And I will be diligent also for you to have at every time after my departure these things, to make a lasting remembrance. 16 For we have not made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ having followed out cleverly devised fables, but having been eyewitnesses of His majesty. 17 For having received honor and glory from God the Father, a voice such as follows was brought to Him by the Majestic Glory: “This is My Son, My beloved, in whom I have found delight.” 18 And we heard this voice having been brought from heaven, being with Him in the holy mountain.

5 Therefore coming into the world, He says: “Sacrifice and offering You have not desired, but a body You have prepared me. 6 In burnt offerings and offerings for sin You have not delighted. 7 Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come— in the scroll of the book it is written of Me— to do Your will, O God.’” 8 Saying above, “Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offerings for sin, You have not desired, nor have You delighted in” (which are offered according to the Law), 9 then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will.” He takes away the first that He might establish the second. 10 By that will, we are having been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

2 Peter 2:21

21 For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to have turned from the holy commandment having been delivered to them.

1 John 2:1-2

1 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you might not sin. And if anyone should sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous One. 2 And He is the propitiation for our sins, and not only for ours, but also for those of the whole world.

1 John 2:5

5 But whoever may keep His word, truly in him the love of God has been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him:

1 John 3:21-24

21 Beloved, if our heart should not condemn us, we have confidence toward God, 22 and whatever we might ask, we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and we do the things pleasing before Him. 23 And this is His commandment, that we should believe in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, and we should love one another, just as He gave the commandment to us. 24 And the one keeping His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us: by the Spirit whom He has given to us.

1 Peter 4:8

8 above all things, having fervent love among yourselves, because love covers over a multitude of sins,

1 John 2:7-10

7 Beloved, I am not writing a new commandment to you, but an old commandment, which you have had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word that you have heard. 8 Again, I am writing a new commandment to you, which is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light already shines. 9 The one claiming to be in the light and hating his brother is in the darkness even until now. 10 The one loving his brother abides in the light, and in him there is no cause for stumbling.

1 John 3:11-18

11 For this is the message that you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another, 12 not as Cain, who was of the evil one and slew his brother. And why did he slay him? Because his works were evil, but those of his brother, righteous. 13 And do not be surprised, brothers, if the world hates you. 14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. The one not loving abides in death. 15 Everyone hating his brother is a murderer; and you know that any murderer does not have eternal life abiding in him. 16 By this we have known love, because He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. 17 Now whoever might have the world’s goods, and might see his brother having need, and might close up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? 18 Little children, we should love not in word, nor in tongue, but in action and in truth.

1 John 3:23

23 And this is His commandment, that we should believe in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, and we should love one another, just as He gave the commandment to us.

15 As the Father knows Me, I also know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.

Romans 5:6-8

6 Yet indeed Christ, of us still being without strength, according to the right time, died for the ungodly. 7 For rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though on behalf of the good man perhaps someone would even dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates His love to us, that of us being still sinners, Christ died for us.

1 John 4:7-11

7 Beloved, we should love one another, because love is from God; and everyone loving has been born from God and knows God. 8 The one not loving has not known God, because God is love. 9 In this the love of God has been revealed among us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, so that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son as a propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

6 I revealed Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, and to Me You gave them, and they have kept Your word. 7 Now they have known that all things You have given Me are of You. 8 For the words that You have given Me I have given them, and they received them, and knew truly that I came forth from You; and they believed that You sent Me.

Romans 16:25-26

25 Now to Him being able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery having been kept secret in times of the ages, 26 but now having been made manifest also through the prophetic Scriptures, according to the commandment of the Eternal God, having been made known to all the Gentiles unto the obedience of faith—

1 Corinthians 2:9-12

9 But as it has been written: “What no eye has seen, and no ear has heard, and has not entered into heart of man, what God has prepared for those loving Him.” 10 For God has revealed it to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God. 11 For who among men knows the things of the man, except the spirit of the man within him? So also, no one knows the things of God, except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit from God, that we may know the things having been granted to us by God,

John 15:19

19 If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world but I chose you out of the world, on account of this, the world hates you.

Is there injustice with God? Never may it be! 15 For He says to Moses: “I will show mercy to whom I may show mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I may have compassion.” 16 So then, it is not of the willing, nor of the running, but of God showing mercy.

1 Corinthians 9:16-18

But woe be to me if I should not preach the gospel. 17 For if I do this willingly, I have a reward; but if unwillingly, I am entrusted with a stewardship. 18 What then is my reward? 3 For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, being deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. 4 But when the kindness and the love of mankind of God our Savior appeared, 5 He saved us, not by works in righteousness that we did, but according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that, having been justified by that grace, we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

1 Peter 2:9-12

9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of the One having called you out of darkness into His marvelous light, 10 who once were not a people, but now are the people of God; those not having received mercy, but now having received mercy. 11 Beloved, I exhort you as aliens and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly desires, which war against the soul, 12 keeping your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that wherein which they speak against you as evildoers, through having witnessed the good deeds, they may glorify God in the day of visitation.

1 Peter 4:3

3 For the time past is sufficient to have carried out the desire of the Gentiles, having walked in sensuality, lusts, drunkenness, orgies, carousing, and abominable idolatries.

But fire came down out of heaven and devoured them.

27 For in truth, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, were gathered together in this city against Your holy servant Jesus whom You anointed, 28 to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose had determined beforehand to happen. 29 And now, Lord, look upon their threats, and grant to Your servants to speak Your word with all boldness, 30 in that You stretch out Your hand for healing and signs and wonders to take place through the name of Your holy servant Jesus.”

And the witnesses laid aside their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul. 59 And as they were stoning Stephen, he was calling out and saying, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” 60 And having fallen on his knees, he cried in a loud voice, “Lord, do not place this sin to them.” And having said this, he fell asleep.

18 The one believing in Him is not judged, but the one not believing already has been judged, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the judgement, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light; for their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the Light and does not come to the Light, so that his works may not be exposed; 21 but the one practicing the truth comes to the Light, that his works may be manifest as having been done in God.”
