⁴⁰ and you are not willing to come to Me, that you may have life.

³ And he sent his servants to call those having been invited to the wedding feast—and they were not willing to come.

³⁷ Jerusalem, Jerusalem, killing the prophets and stoning those having been sent to her! How often would I have gathered together your children, the way in which a hen gathers together her chicks under the wings, and you were not willing!

³⁷ Now in the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. ³⁸ The one believing in Me, as the Scripture has said: ‘Out of his belly will flow rivers of living water.’”

⁴⁵ Now because I speak the truth, you do not believe Me! ⁴⁶ Which of you convicts me concerning sin? If I speak the truth, why do you not believe Me?

²⁵ Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; the one believing in Me, even if he should die, he will live. ²⁶ And everyone living and believing in Me shall never die, to the age. Do you believe this?”

³⁷ Although so many of His signs had been done before them, they did not believe in Him, ³⁸ so that word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, that said: “Lord, who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?” ³⁹ Because of this, they were not able to believe, for again Isaiah said: ⁴⁰ “He has blinded their eyes, and has hardened their heart, that they should not see with the eyes, and understand with the heart, and turn, and I will heal them.” ⁴¹ Isaiah said these things because he saw His glory and spoke concerning Him.

²³ For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹¹ And this is the testimony: that God has given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. ¹² The one having the Son has life; the one not having the Son of God does not have life. ¹³ I have written these things to you, the ones believing in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.

¹⁷ And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And the one hearing, let him say, “Come!” And the one thirsting let him come; the one desiring, let him take freely the water of life.
