³⁴ They answered and said to him, “You were born entirely in sins, and do you teach us?” And they cast him out.

¹⁷ And if he fails to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he fails to listen to even to the church, let him be to you as the pagan and the tax collector. ¹⁸ Truly I say to you, whatever you shall bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you shall loose on the earth shall have been loosed in heaven.

²² Blessed are you when men shall hate you, and when they shall exclude you, and shall insult you, and shall cast out your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man.

⁴⁵ And one of the lawyers answering, says to Him, “Teacher, saying these things You insult us also.”

¹¹ For everyone exalting himself will be humbled, and the one humbling himself will be exalted.”

¹⁰ “Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a tax collector. ¹¹ The Pharisee having stood, was praying toward himself thus: ‘God, I thank You that I am not like the rest of the men—swindlers, unrighteous, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. ¹² I fast twice in the week; I tithe all things, as many as I gain.’ ¹³ But the tax collector, standing afar off, was not even willing to lift up the eyes to heaven, but was striking his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, the sinner!’ ¹⁴ I say to you, this one went down to his house justified, rather than that. For everyone exalting himself will be humbled; but the one humbling himself will be exalted.”

¹⁷ Truly I say to you, whoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a child, shall not at all enter into it.”

³⁷ All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one coming to Me, I shall not cast out.

⁴⁸ Has any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on Him? ⁴⁹ But this crowd, not knowing the Law, are accursed.”

⁴¹ You are doing the works of your father.” Therefore they said to Him, “We have not been born of sexual immorality. We have one Father, God.”

² And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he should be born blind?”

²² His parents said these things because they were afraid of the Jews. For the Jews already had agreed together that if anyone should confess Him Christ, he would be expelled from the synagogue.

³⁵ Jesus heard that they had cast him out, and having found him, He said, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?”

⁴⁰ Some of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these things, and they said to Him, “Are we also blind?”

⁴ in the name of our Lord Jesus, of you having been gathered together and of me in spirit, with the power of the Lord Jesus, ⁵ to deliver such a one to Satan for destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord.

¹³ But God will judge those outside. “Expel the evil out from among yourselves.”

¹⁵ We Jews by birth and not ‘sinners’ of the Gentiles,

³ among whom we all also once lived in the desires of our flesh, doing the things willed of the flesh and of its thoughts; and we were by nature children of wrath even as the rest.

⁵ Likewise, younger ones, be subject to your elders. And all, gird on humility one to another, because, “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”

⁹ I have written something to the church; but Diotrephes, the one loving to be first among them, does not welcome us.

¹⁷ and that no one should be able to buy or to sell, if not the one having the mark—the name of the beast, or the number of its name.
