⁷ And remain in the same house, eating and drinking the things supplied by them; for the workman is worthy of his wages. Do not move from house to house.

¹⁰ nor provision-bag for the way, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor a staff; for the workman is worthy of his provisions. ¹¹ And into whatever city or village you enter, inquire who is worthy in it. Remain there until you go forth.

¹⁰ And He would say to them, “Wherever you enter into a house, remain there until you go out from there.

⁴ And into whatever house you might enter, remain there, and go forth from there.

¹⁵ And when she was baptized, and her house, she begged, saying, “If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, having entered into my house, abide.” And she persuaded us.

³⁴ And having brought them into the house, he laid a table for them and rejoiced with all his household, having believed in God.

⁴⁰ And having gone forth out of the prison, they came to Lydia, and having seen them, they exhorted the brothers and departed.

⁴ Have we no authority to eat and to drink? ⁵ Have we no authority to take about a believer as a wife, as also the other apostles, and the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas? ⁶ Or only I and Barnabas, have we no authority not to work? ⁷ Who at any time serves as a soldier at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat the fruit of it? Or who shepherds a flock and does not drink from the milk of the flock? ⁸ Do I speak these things according to man? Or does the Law not also say these things? ⁹ For in the Law of Moses it has been written: “You shall not muzzle an ox treading out grain.” Is there care for the oxen with God? ¹⁰ Or is He speaking because of us entirely? For it was written for us, because in hope the one plowing ought to plow, and the one threshing, in hope to partake. ¹¹ If we have sown spiritual things among you, is it a great thing if we will reap material things from you? ¹² If others partake of the authority over you, should we not more? But we did not use this right. Instead, we bear all things, so that we should not place any hindrance to the gospel of Christ. ¹³ Do you not know that those working in the temple eat the things of the temple; those attending at the altar partake in the altar? ¹⁴ So also, the Lord has prescribed to those proclaiming the gospel to live from the gospel. ¹⁵ But I have not used any of these. And neither have I written these things that it should be thus with me; for it would be better to me to die, rather than that anyone will make void my boasting.

⁶ Now let the one being taught in the word share in all good things with the one teaching.

¹⁷ Not that I seek after the gift, but I seek after the fruit abounding to your account. ¹⁸ But I have all things, and abound. I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things from you, an odor of a sweet smell, an acceptable sacrifice, well-pleasing to God.

¹³ And at the same time also, going about house to house, they learn to be idle; and not only idle, but also gossips and busybodies, speaking things not being proper.

¹⁷ Let the elders ruling well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those laboring in the word and the teaching. ¹⁸ For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle an ox treading out grain,” and, “The workman is worthy of his wages.”

⁶ It is necessary for the hardworking farmer first to partake of the fruits.

⁵ Beloved, you are doing faithfully whatever you might have done toward the brothers, and they are strangers, ⁶ who testified of your love before the church, whom you will do well having set forward worthily of God. ⁷ For they went forth on behalf of the name, accepting nothing from the Gentiles. ⁸ Therefore we ought to receive such men, so that we may be fellow workers in the truth.
