¹ Now also He was saying to the disciples, “There was a certain rich man who had a manager, and was accused unto him as he is wasting his possessions. ² And having called him, he said to him, ‘What is this I hear concerning you? Give the account of your stewardship, for you are not able to manage any longer.’ ³ And the manager said within himself, ‘What shall I do, for my master is taking away the management from me? I am not able to dig; I am ashamed to beg. ⁴ I know what I will do, so that when I shall have been removed from the management, they might receive me into their homes.’ ⁵ And having summoned each one of his master’s debtors, he was saying to the first, ‘How much do you owe to my master?’ ⁶ And he said, ‘A hundred baths of oil.’ And he said to him, ‘Take your bill, and having sat down quickly, write fifty.’ ⁷ Then he said to another, ‘And how much do you owe?’ And he said, ‘A hundred cors of wheat.’ He says to him, ‘Take your bill and write eighty.’ ⁸ And the master praised the unrighteous manager because he had acted shrewdly. For the sons of this age are more shrewd than the sons of the light in their own generation. ⁹ And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by the mammon of unrighteousness, that when it fails, they might receive you into the eternal dwellings. ¹⁰ The one faithful in very little is also faithful in much, and the one unrighteous in very little is also unrighteous in much. ¹¹ If therefore you have not been faithful in unrighteous mammon, who will entrust to you the true? ¹² And unless you have been faithful in that which is of another, who will give to you that which is yours? ¹³ No servant is able to serve two masters. For either he will hate the one and he will love the other, or he will be devoted to one and he will despise the other. You are not able to serve God and mammon.” ¹⁴ Now the Pharisees, being lovers of money, were listening to all these things, and they were ridiculing Him. ¹⁵ And He said to them, “You are those justifying themselves before men, but God knows your hearts; for that which is exalted among men is an abomination before God. ¹⁶ The Law and the prophets were until John. From that time the kingdom of God is proclaimed, and everyone forces his way into it. ¹⁷ But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than one stroke of a letter of the Law to fail. ¹⁸ Everyone putting away his wife and marrying another commits adultery. And the one marrying her put away from a husband commits adultery. ¹⁹ And there was a certain rich man, and he was clothed in purple and fine linen, making good cheer in splendor every day. ²⁰ And a certain poor man named Lazarus, being full of sores, was laid at his gate ²¹ and desiring to be fed from that falling from the table of the rich man; but even the dogs, coming, were licking his sores. ²² And it came to pass that the poor man died, and he was carried away by the angels into the bosom of Abraham. And the rich man also died and was buried. ²³ And in Hades, having lifted up his eyes, being in torment, he sees Abraham from afar, and Lazarus in his bosom. ²⁴ And having cried out, he said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus, that he might dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am suffering in this flame.’ ²⁵ And Abraham said, ‘Child, remember that you did fully receive your good things in your lifetime, and Lazarus likewise the evil things. But now he is comforted here, and you are suffering. ²⁶ And besides all these things, a great chasm has been fixed between us and you, so that those desiring to pass from here to you are not able, nor can they pass from there to us.’ ²⁷ And he said, ‘Then I implore you, father, that you would send him to my father’s house— ²⁸ for I have five brothers—so that he might warn them, that they also might not come to this place of torment.’ ²⁹ But Abraham says, ‘They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.’ ³⁰ And he said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if one from the dead should go to them, they will repent.’ ³¹ But he said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, not even will they be persuaded if one should rise out from the dead.’”

²³ Because of this, the kingdom of the heavens has become like to a man, a king, who desired to settle accounts with his servants. ²⁴ And he having begun to settle, one was brought to him, a debtor of ten thousand talents.

¹⁴ For it is like a man going on a journey who called his own servants and delivered his possessing to them. ¹⁵ And indeed to one he gave five talents; and to one, two; and to one, one; to each according to his own ability. And he left the region immediately. ¹⁶ The one having received the five talents, having gone, traded with them, and made five more. ¹⁷ Likewise, the one with the two gained two more. ¹⁸ But the one having received the one talent, having gone away, dug in the ground and hid his master’s money. ¹⁹ And after much time, the master of those servants comes and takes account with them. ²⁰ And the one having received the five talents, having come, brought to him five other talents, saying, ‘Master, you did deliver to me five talents. Behold, I have gained five talents more.’ ²¹ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You were faithful over a few things; I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your master!’ ²² And the one with the two talents, also having come said, ‘Master, you did deliver to me two talents. Behold, I have gained two talents more.’ ²³ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You were faithful over a few things; I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your master!’ ²⁴ And the one having received the one talent, having come, also said, ‘Master, I knew you, that you are a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering from where you did not scatter. ²⁵ And having been afraid, having gone away, I hid your talent in the ground. Behold, you have what is yours.’ ²⁶ And his master answering, said to him, ‘Wicked and lazy servant! You knew that I reap where I did not sow and gather from where I did not scatter. ²⁷ Therefore it behooved you to put my money to the bankers, and having come, I would have received my own with interest. ²⁸ Therefore take the talent from him, and give it to the one having the ten talents. ²⁹ For to everyone having will be given, and he will have in abundance. But the one not having, even that which he has will be taken away from him. ³⁰ And cast out the worthless servant, into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

³ and Joanna wife of Chuza, a steward of Herod, and Susanna, and many others, who were ministering to them out of their own means.

⁴² And the Lord said, “Who then is the faithful, wise manager, whom the master will set over the care of his servants, to give them the measure of food in season?

¹³ And not many days later, the younger son having gathered together all, went away into a distant country, and there he wasted his estate, living prodigally.

³⁰ But when this son of yours came, the one having devoured your living with prostitutes, you have killed the fattened calf for him!’

¹⁹ And there was a certain rich man, and he was clothed in purple and fine linen, making good cheer in splendor every day.

²⁰ And another came, saying, ‘Lord, behold your mina, which I kept lying away in a handkerchief.

¹ So let a man regard us as servants of Christ and stewards of God’s mysteries. ² In this case, moreover, it is required in the stewards, that one shall be found faithful.

⁷ For it behooves the overseer to be blameless, as God’s steward; not self-willed, not quick tempered, not given to wine, not a striker, not greedy of base gain,

³ You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, that you may spend it in your pleasures.

¹⁰ as each has received a gift, to them serving each other as good stewards of the manifold grace of God:

³⁶ And I say to you that every careless word that they will speak, men will give an account of it in day of judgment.

²⁰ And God said to him, ‘Fool! This night, your soul is required of you; and what you did prepare—to whom will it be?’

²¹ For I was afraid of you, because you are a harsh man. You take up what you did not lay down, and you reap what you did not sow.’ ²² He says to him, ‘Out of your mouth I will judge you, evil servant. You knew that I am a harsh man, taking up what I did not lay down and reaping what I did not sow? ²³ Why then did you not give my money to the bank, and I having come, might have collected it with interest?’ ²⁴ And to those standing by he said, ‘Take from him the mina, and give it to the one having the ten minas.’ ²⁵ And they said to him, ‘Master, he has ten minas!’ ²⁶ ‘I say to you that to everyone having will be given, but from the one not having, even that which he has will be taken away.

¹² So then, each of us will give account concerning himself to God.

¹¹ For it was shown to me concerning you, my brothers, by those of Chloe, that there are quarrels among you.

² In this case, moreover, it is required in the stewards, that one shall be found faithful.

⁵ Therefore do not judge anything before the time, until the Lord shall have come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the motives of the hearts; and then the praise will come to each from God.

¹⁰ For we must all be revealed before the judgment seat of Christ, that each may receive back the things done through the body according to what he did, whether good or evil.

¹⁴ Do not be negligent of the gift in you, which was given to you through prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the elderhood.

²⁴ The sins of some men are manifest, going before them to judgment; but of some also they appear later.

⁵ who will give account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.

¹² And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the one of life. And the dead were judged out of the things having been written in the books, according to their deeds.

⁴⁶ And they come to Jericho. And as He was going out from Jericho—and His disciples, and a large crowd—a blind beggar, Bartimaeus, son of Timaeus, was sitting beside the road.

¹⁷ And he was reasoning within himself, saying, ‘What shall I do, for I have nowhere I will store up my fruits?’

²⁰ And a certain poor man named Lazarus, being full of sores, was laid at his gate

²² And it came to pass that the poor man died, and he was carried away by the angels into the bosom of Abraham. And the rich man also died and was buried.

⁴ And for a time he would not, but afterward he said within himself, ‘Even if I do not fear God, nor respect man,

⁸ Therefore the neighbors and those having seen him before, that he was a beggar, were saying, “Is this not he who was sitting and begging?”

² And a certain man was being carried, being lame from his mother’s womb, whom they placed every day at the temple gate called Beautiful to ask for alms from those going into the temple,

⁶ But rise up and enter into the city, and it will be told you that which it behooves you to do.”

¹¹ For we hear some among you are walking idly, not working at all, but being busybodies.

¹⁵ This is not the wisdom coming down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.

²⁴ And he having begun to settle, one was brought to him, a debtor of ten thousand talents.

⁴¹ “There were two debtors to a certain creditor. The one owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. ⁴² They having nothing to pay, he forgave both. Therefore which of them will love him more?”

⁹ And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by the mammon of unrighteousness, that when it fails, they might receive you into the eternal dwellings.

¹² And unless you have been faithful in that which is of another, who will give to you that which is yours?

¹⁰ not pilfering, but showing all good fidelity, so that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things.

⁹ And He began to speak to the people this parable: “A certain man planted a vineyard, and rented it to farmers, and went abroad a long time.

¹² And he proceeded to send a third; and having wounded him also, they cast him out.

²⁶ And he having said, “From the strangers,” Jesus said to him, “Then the sons are free.

⁴ I know what I will do, so that when I shall have been removed from the management, they might receive me into their homes.’

¹⁰ The one faithful in very little is also faithful in much, and the one unrighteous in very little is also unrighteous in much.

⁶ And the Lord said, “Hear what the unrighteous judge says.

³⁴ And Jesus said to them, “The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage.

³⁶ While you have the light, believe in the light, so that you may become sons of light.” Jesus spoke these things, and having gone away, He was hidden from them.

¹⁸ Let no one deceive himself: If anyone among you thinks himself to be wise in this age, let him become foolish, so that he may become wise.

⁸ For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light—

¹⁹ whose end is destruction, whose God is the belly and glory is in their shame, those minding earthly things.

⁵ For you are all sons of light and sons of day; we are not of night nor of darkness.

⁹ But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of the One having called you out of darkness into His marvelous light,

¹⁰ Through this, the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: anyone not practicing righteousness is not of God, and also the one not loving his brother.

¹⁹ Do not store up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.

²⁴ No one is able to serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and he will love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and he will despise the other. You are not able to serve God and mammon.

²¹ Jesus was saying to him, “If you desire to be perfect, go, sell what you are possessing, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in the heavens; and come, follow Me.”

³⁵ For I hungered, and you gave Me to eat; I thirsted, and you gave Me to drink; I was a stranger, and you took Me in; ³⁶ naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’ ³⁷ Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungering, and fed You? Or thirsting, and gave You to drink? ³⁸ And when did we see You a stranger, and took You in? Or naked, and clothed You? ³⁹ And when did we see You ailing or in prison, and came to You?’ ⁴⁰ And the King answering, will say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did it to Me.’

⁴¹ But give as alms the things being within, and behold, all things are clean to you.

³³ Sell your possessions and give alms; make to yourselves purses not growing old, an unfailing treasure in the heavens, where thief does not draw near, nor does moth destroy.

¹⁴ and you will be blessed, because they have nothing to repay you. For it will be recompensed to you in the resurrection of the righteous.”

¹¹ If therefore you have not been faithful in unrighteous mammon, who will entrust to you the true?

¹³ No servant is able to serve two masters. For either he will hate the one and he will love the other, or he will be devoted to one and he will despise the other. You are not able to serve God and mammon.”

⁴ And having looked intently on him, and having become afraid, he said, “What is it, Lord?” And he said to him, “Your prayers and your alms have ascended as a memorial before God.

³¹ and said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard and your alms have been remembered before God.

¹⁷ For the momentary lightness of our affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory, far surpassing to excessiveness.

¹² For the ministry of this service is not only completely filling up the needs of the saints, but is also overflowing through many thanksgivings to God, ¹³ through the proof of this service, glorifying God at your submission of confession to the gospel of Christ, and the generosity of the participation toward them and toward all. ¹⁴ And their supplication is for you, longing for you on account of the surpassing grace of God upon you. ¹⁵ Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!

⁹ But those desiring to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and many foolish and harmful desires, which plunge men into ruin and destruction. ¹⁰ For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils, which some, stretching after, have been seduced away from the faith and have pierced themselves with many sorrows.

¹⁷ Instruct the rich in the present age not to be high-minded, nor to have hope in the uncertainty of riches, but on God, the One richly providing us all things for enjoyment; ¹⁸ to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous in distributing, ready to share, ¹⁹ treasuring up for themselves a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is indeed life.

¹⁶ May the Lord grant mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, because he refreshed me often, and he was not ashamed of my chain. ¹⁷ But having arrived in Rome, he earnestly sought me out and found me. ¹⁸ May the Lord grant unto him to find mercy from the Lord in that day! And you know very well how much he served in Ephesus.

²¹ keep yourselves in the love of God, awaiting the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

²¹ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You were faithful over a few things; I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your master!’

⁶ But he said this, not because he was caring for the poor, but because he was a thief; and having the money bag, he used to pilfer that being put into it.

² And supper taking place, the devil already having put into the heart of Judas son of Simon Iscariot that he should betray Him,

²⁷ And after the morsel, then Satan entered into him. Therefore Jesus says to him, “What you do, do quickly.”

² being faithful to the One having appointed Him, as Moses also in all His house.

²² And having heard, Jesus said to him, “To you, yet one thing is lacking: Sell all, as much as you have, and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in the heavens; and come, follow Me.”

⁸ To me, the very least of all saints, was given this grace: to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ

⁵ Listen, my beloved brothers: Has not God chosen the poor in this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom that He promised to those loving Him?

¹⁸ I counsel you to buy from Me gold having been refined by fire so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may be clothed and the shame your of nakedness might not be made manifest, and eye-salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see.

⁴² but one thing is necessary, only one; for Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”

¹³ And having called ten of his servants, he gave to them ten minas and said to them, ‘Do business until that I come back.’ ¹⁴ But his citizens hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We are not willing for this man to reign over us.’ ¹⁵ And it came to pass, on his returning, having received the kingdom, that he directed these servants to whom he had given the money to be called to him, in order that he might know what each had gained by trading. ¹⁶ And the first came up, saying, ‘Lord, your mina has produced ten more minas.’ ¹⁷ And He said to him, ‘Well done, good servant! Because you were faithful in very little, you are to be having authority over ten cities.’ ¹⁸ And the second came, saying, ‘Lord, your mina has made five minas.’ ¹⁹ And he said to this one also, ‘And you are to be over five cities.’ ²⁰ And another came, saying, ‘Lord, behold your mina, which I kept lying away in a handkerchief.

³ For you have died, and your life has been hidden with Christ in God. ⁴ When Christ your life may be revealed, then you also will appear with Him in glory.

⁴ to an inheritance imperishable and undefiled and unfading, being reserved in the heavens for you, ⁵ who are being guarded by the power of God through faith, for the salvation ready to be revealed in the last time,

¹⁰ Then Jesus says to him, “Get you away, Satan! For it has been written: ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him alone shall you serve.’”

⁵⁰ And Jesus said to him, “Do not forbid it; for whoever is not against us is for us.”

²³ The one not being with Me is against Me; and the one not gathering with Me scatters.

²⁶ “If anyone comes to Me, and does not hate his father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters and yes, even his life, he is not able to be My disciple.

¹⁶ Do you not know that to whom you yield yourselves as slaves for obedience, you are slaves to him whom you obey, whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness? ¹⁷ But thanks be to God that you who were slaves of sin have now become obedient from the heart to the pattern of teaching to which you were committed. ¹⁸ And having been set free from sin, you have become slaves to righteousness. ¹⁹ I speak in human terms on account of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you yielded your members in bondage to impurity and to lawlessness unto lawlessness, so now yield your members in bondage to righteousness unto sanctification. ²⁰ For when you were slaves of sin, you were free from righteousness. ²¹ What fruit, therefore, did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. ²² But now, having been set free from sin, and having become slaves to God, you have your fruit unto sanctification, and the end is eternal life.

⁵ For those being according to flesh mind the things of the flesh; but those according to Spirit, the things of the Spirit. ⁶ For the mind of the flesh is death; but the mind of the Spirit, life and peace, ⁷ because the mind of the flesh is hostility toward God; for it is not subject to the Law of God, for not even can it be. ⁸ And those being in the flesh are not able to please God.

⁴ Adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility with God? Therefore whoever has chosen to be a friend of the world is appointed an enemy of God.

¹⁵ Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone should love the world, the love of the Father is not in him, ¹⁶ because all that is in the world, the desire of the flesh and the desire of the eyes and the vaunting of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.

¹³ But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of the heavens before men. For you neither enter, nor even do you allow those who are entering to go in.

⁵³ And they were laughing at Him, knowing that she was dead.

¹⁵ And He said to them, “Beware, and keep yourselves from all covetousness; for not to anyone is his life in the abundance of that which he possesses.”

⁴⁷ who devour the houses of widows, and pray at great length as a pretext. These will receive more abundant condemnation.”

³⁵ And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also were deriding Him, saying, “He saved others; let Him save Himself, if this is the Christ of God, the Chosen One.”

² For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boasters, proud, verbally abusive, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,

³⁶ And others received the trial of mockings and of scourgings, and in addition, of chains and imprisonment.

² looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who in view of the joy lying before Him endured the cross, having despised its shame, and sat down at right hand of the throne of God. ³ For consider fully the One having endured such great hostility from sinners against Himself, so that you shall not grow weary, fainting in your souls.

² Therefore when you perform acts of charity, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may have glory from men. Truly I say to you, they have their recompense.

⁵ And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets so that they might be seen by men. Truly I say to you, they have their recompense.

¹⁶ And whenever you fast, do not be downcast in countenance like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces so that they might appear to men as fasting. Truly I say to you, they have their recompense.

⁵ And they do all their deeds in order to be seen by men. For they broaden their phylacteries and enlarge their tassels,

²⁵ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside they are full of greed and intemperance. ²⁶ Blind Pharisee! First cleanse the inside of the cup and of the dish, that their outside might become clean also. ²⁷ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like tombs having been whitewashed, which indeed outwardly appear beautiful, but inside they are full of bones of the dead, and of all impurity.

²⁹ But desiring to justify himself, he said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”

³⁹ And the Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees, you cleanse the outside of the cup and of the dish, but your inside is full of plundering and wickedness.

¹¹ The Pharisee having stood, was praying toward himself thus: ‘God, I thank You that I am not like the rest of the men—swindlers, unrighteous, adulterers—or even like this tax collector.

²¹ And he said, “All these have I kept from my youth.”

²⁰ And having watched Him, they sent spies, feigning themselves to be righteous, that they might catch Him in His word, in order to deliver Him to the rule and to the authority of the governor.

²⁵ and because He had no need that anyone should testify concerning man, for He Himself knew what was in man.

¹⁷ He says to him the third time, “Simon son of John, do you dearly love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you dearly love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I dearly love You.” Jesus says to him, “Feed My sheep.

¹⁸ (Then indeed this man acquired a field out of the reward of unrighteousness, and having fallen headlong, he burst open in the middle and all his intestines gushed out.

⁸ And the heart-knowing God bore witness to them, having given them the Holy Spirit, as also to us.

²⁰ Therefore by works of the Law, not any flesh will be justified before Him; for through the Law is knowledge of sin.

²¹ Was not Abraham our father justified by works, having offered his son Isaac upon the altar? ²² You see that his faith was working with his works, and by his works, his faith was perfected. ²³ And the Scripture was fulfilled, saying, “And Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness,” and he was called a friend of God. ²⁴ You see that a man is justified by works, and not by faith alone. ²⁵ And likewise was not Rahab the prostitute also justified by works, having received the messengers and having sent them forth by another way?

⁴ but the hidden man of the heart, in the imperishable of the gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth before God.

⁵ Likewise, younger ones, be subject to your elders. And all, gird on humility one to another, because, “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”

²³ And I will kill her children with death, and all the churches will know that I am the One searching affections and hearts; and I will give to each of you according to your works.

² and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of the heavens has drawn near.”

¹⁷ From that time Jesus began to proclaim and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of the heavens has drawn near!”

²³ And He was going throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people.

⁷ And going on, proclaim, saying, ‘The kingdom of the heavens has drawn near!’

⁹ But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and one more excellent than a prophet. ¹⁰ For this is he about whom it has been written: ‘Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, who will prepare Your way before You.’ ¹¹ Truly I say to you, among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist. Yet the least in the kingdom of the heavens is greater than he! ¹² And from the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of the heavens is taken by violence and the violent seize it. ¹³ For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. ¹⁴ And if you are willing to receive it, he is Elijah, the one being about to come.

³² For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed him; and you having seen, did not even repent afterward to believe him.

¹⁴ And after the delivering up of John, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God

⁴⁵ But having gone out, he began to proclaim much and to spread abroad the matter, so that He was no longer able to enter openly into the city, but He was out in solitary places. And they were coming to Him from every quarter.

²⁶ But what have you gone out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and one more excellent than a prophet. ²⁷ This is he concerning whom it has been written: ‘Behold, I send My messenger before your face, who will prepare Your way before You.’ ²⁸ I say to you, no one among those born of women is greater than John; yet the least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.” ²⁹ And all the people having heard, even the tax collectors, declared God righteous, having been baptized with the baptism of John.

² and He sent them to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.

⁹ And heal the sick in it, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has drawn near to you.’

¹¹ ‘Even the dust from your city having clung to our feet, we wipe off against you; yet know this, that the kingdom of God has drawn near.’

²⁹ But Abraham says, ‘They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.’

³¹ But he said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, not even will they be persuaded if one should rise out from the dead.’”

⁴⁵ Philip Finds Nathanael and says to him, “We have found Him whom Moses wrote of in the Law, also the prophets, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”

⁴⁸ If we shall let Him alone like this, all will believe in Him, and the Romans will come and will take away both our place and nation.”

¹⁹ Therefore the Pharisees said among themselves, “You see that you gain nothing. Behold, the world has gone after Him.”

¹⁸ But what God foretold by the mouth of all the prophets, that His Christ should suffer, He has thus fulfilled.

²⁴ And also all the prophets from Samuel, and those subsequently, as many as have spoken, also have proclaimed these days. ²⁵ You are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant that God made with your fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘And in your seed all the families of the earth will be blessed.’

¹⁸ For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth shall pass away, not even one iota, nor one stroke of a letter, shall pass away from the law, until everything should happen.

³³ The heaven and the earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.

³¹ Do we, then, nullify the Law through faith? Never may it be! Instead, we uphold Law.

²⁵ but the word of the Lord abides to the age.” And this is the word having been proclaimed to you.

¹⁰ But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar, and elements will be dissolved, burning with heat, and the earth and the works in it will not be found.

¹¹ And I saw a great white throne and the One sitting on it, from whose face the earth and heaven fled, and no place was found for them.

¹ And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea is no more.

⁴ And He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more nor mourning nor crying nor pain; they will be no more, because the former things have passed away.”

³¹ It was also said, ‘Whoever shall divorce his wife, let him give her a letter of divorce.’ ³² But I say to you that everyone divorcing his wife, except on account of sexual immorality, causes her to commit adultery. And whoever shall marry her who has been divorced commits adultery.

⁹ And I say to you that whoever shall divorce his wife except for sexual immorality, and shall marry another, commits adultery.”

¹¹ And He says to them, “Whoever shall divorce his wife, and shall marry another, commits adultery against her. ¹² And if a woman, having divorced her husband, should marry another, she commits adultery.”

⁴ The wife does not have authority over the own body, but the husband; and likewise also, the husband does not have authority over the own body, but the wife.

¹⁰ Now to those having married I give this charge (not I, but the Lord): A wife is not to be separated from a husband. ¹¹ But if indeed she is separated, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to the husband; and a husband is not to send away a wife. ¹² Now to the rest I say (I, not the Lord): If any brother has an unbelieving wife and she consents to dwell with him, let him not divorce her.

¹⁷ And they put on Him purple, and having twisted together a crown of thorns, they placed it on Him,

²⁰ And when they had mocked Him, they took off Him the purple and put on Him His own garments. And they are leading Him out, that they might crucify Him.

¹⁶ And He spoke a parable to them, saying, “The ground of a certain rich man brought forth abundantly. ¹⁷ And he was reasoning within himself, saying, ‘What shall I do, for I have nowhere I will store up my fruits?’ ¹⁸ And he said, ‘I will do this: I will tear down my barns, and will build greater ones, and will store up there all my grain and goods. ¹⁹ And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many good things laid up for many years; take your rest; eat, drink, be merry.”’ ²⁰ And God said to him, ‘Fool! This night, your soul is required of you; and what you did prepare—to whom will it be?’ ²¹ So is the one treasuring up for himself, and not being rich toward God.”

¹ Now also He was saying to the disciples, “There was a certain rich man who had a manager, and was accused unto him as he is wasting his possessions.

²⁴ And having seen him, Jesus became sorrowful, saying, “How difficultly those having riches shall enter into the kingdom of God. ²⁵ For it is easier for a camel to go through an eye of a needle, than a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.”

¹ Come now, you rich, weep, wailing over the miseries that are coming upon you. ² Your riches have rotted, and your garments have become moth-eaten. ³ Your gold and silver have corroded, and their rust will be for a testimony against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have treasured up in the last days. ⁴ Behold, the wage of the workmen having harvested your fields, having been kept back by you, cries out, and the cries of those having harvested have entered into the ears of the Lord of Hosts. ⁵ You lived in luxury and lived in self-indulgence upon the earth. You have fattened your hearts in the day of slaughter.

⁴ And the woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stone and pearls, holding a golden cup in her hand, being full of abominations and the impurity of her sexual immorality.

⁷ So much as she has glorified herself and lived in luxury, give to her as much torment and misery, because in her heart she says, ‘I sit as a queen, and I am never a widow, and never shall I see mourning.’

¹⁶ saying: “Woe, woe, the great city, having been clothed with fine linen and purple and scarlet, and having been adorned with gold and precious stone and pearl!

²¹ and desiring to be fed from that falling from the table of the rich man; but even the dogs, coming, were licking his sores.

³⁵ And it came to pass in His drawing near to Jericho, a certain blind man was sitting beside the road, begging. ³⁶ And having heard a crowd passing along, he was asking what this might be. ³⁷ And they told him, “Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.” ³⁸ And he called out saying, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” ³⁹ And those going before were rebuking him, that he should be silent. But he kept crying out much more, “Son of David, have mercy on me.” ⁴⁰ And Jesus, having stopped, commanded him to be brought to Him. And of him having drawn near, He asked him, ⁴¹ “What do you desire I shall do to you?” And he said, “Lord, that I might receive sight.” ⁴² And Jesus said to him, “Receive sight! Your faith has healed you.” ⁴³ And immediately he received sight and began following Him, glorifying God. And all the people having seen it gave praise to God.

¹ Now a certain man was ailing, Lazarus of Bethany, of the village of Mary and her sister Martha.

⁹ But let the brother of low degree boast in his exaltation,

²⁷ And she said, “Yes Lord, but even the dogs eat the crumbs falling from their masters’ table.”

²⁸ But she answered and says to Him, “Yes, Lord, even the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs.”

¹² Now when they were filled, He says to His disciples, “Gather together the fragments having been over and above, so that not anything may be lost.”

¹¹ As far as the present hour, we both hunger and thirst, and are poorly clad, and are buffeted, and wander homeless,

²⁷ in labor and toil, often in watchings; in hunger and thirst, often in fastings; in cold and nakedness.

¹¹ And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and will recline with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of the heavens.

³⁸ and the field is the world; and the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom; and the weeds are the sons of the evil one; ³⁹ and the enemy having sown them is the devil; and the harvest is the consummation of the age; and the harvesters are angels. ⁴⁰ Therefore, as the weeds are gathered and consumed in fire, so will it be in the consummation of the age. ⁴¹ The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all the stumbling blocks and those practicing lawlessness, ⁴² and they will cast them into the furnace of fire, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. ⁴³ Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. The one having ears, let him hear!

¹⁰ See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I say to you that their angels in the heavens continually behold the face of my Father, who is in the heavens.

³¹ And He will send His angels with a great trumpet call, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from the ends of the heavens to the ends thereof.

³⁶ For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and to lose his soul?

²³ There was reclining one of His disciples whom Jesus loved in the bosom of Jesus.

²⁰ Having turned, Peter sees the disciple whom Jesus loved following, the one who also had reclined on His bosom at the supper and said, “Lord, who is it who is betraying You?”

¹⁴ Are they not all ministering spirits, being sent forth for service for the sake of those being about to inherit salvation?

¹⁴ Therefore, since the children have partaken of blood and of flesh, He also likewise took part in the same things, so that through His death He might destroy the one holding the power of death, that is, the devil,

¹¹ For the sun has risen with its burning heat and withered the grass, and its flower has fallen, and the beauty of its appearance has perished. Thus also the rich man will fade away in the midst of his pursuits.

²⁴ Who Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that, having been dead to sins, we might live to righteousness. “By whose scourge marks you have been healed.”

¹³ And I heard a voice out of heaven, saying “Write, ‘Blessed are the dead dying in the Lord from now on.’” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “so that they will rest from their labors; for their works follow with them.”

²² But I say to you that everyone being angry with his brother will be liable to the judgment, and whoever shall say to his brother ‘Raca,’ will be liable to the Sanhedrin. But whoever shall say, ‘Fool!’ will be liable to the Gehenna of fire.

²⁹ And if your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and cast it from you. For it is better for you that one of your members should perish and not that your whole body should be cast into Gehenna.

¹¹ And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and will recline with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of the heavens. ¹² But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into the outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of the teeth.”

²⁹ And behold, they cried out saying, “What to us and to you Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?”

²³ And you, Capernaum, will not be exalted to heaven, but will be brought down to Hades! For if the miracles having taken place in you had taken place in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

⁹ And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and cast it from you; it is better for you to enter into life one-eyed, than having two eyes to be cast into the Gehenna of fire.

³³ Serpents! Offspring of vipers! How shall you escape from the sentence of Gehenna?

²⁸ And having seen Jesus, having cried out, he fell down before Him and said in a loud voice, “What to me and to You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore of You that You might not torment me!”

²⁸ There will be weeping and gnashing of the teeth when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you are being cast out. ²⁹ And they will come from east and west, and from north and south, and will recline in the kingdom of God.

²⁸ for I have five brothers—so that he might warn them, that they also might not come to this place of torment.’

⁵⁵ “Where O death, is your victory? Where O death is your sting?”

⁴ For if God did not spare the angels having sinned, but having cast them down to Tartarus, in chains of gloomy darkness, delivered them, being kept for judgment;

¹⁰ he also will drink of the wine of the anger of God, having been mixed undiluted in the cup of His wrath; and he will be tormented in fire and brimstone before the holy angels and before the Lamb. ¹¹ And the smoke of their torment goes up to ages of ages; and those worshiping the beast and its image have no rest day and night, and if anyone receives the mark of its name.”

¹⁰ And the devil, the one deceiving them, was cast into the lake of fire and of sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet also are; and they will be tormented day and night to the ages of the ages.

¹³ And the sea gave up the dead who were in it; and death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them; and each of them were judged according to their works. ¹⁴ And death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.

⁹ And do not presume to say within yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as father.’ For I say to you that out of these stones God is able to raise up children unto Abraham.

⁴¹ Then also He will say to those on the left, ‘Depart from Me, those being cursed, into the eternal fire, having been prepared for the devil and his angels.

⁴³ And if your hand should cause you to stumble, cut it off; it is better for you to enter into life crippled, than having two hands to go away into Gehenna, into the unquenchable fire. ^{44 45} And if your foot should cause you to stumble, cut it off; it is better for you to enter into life lame, than having the two feet, to be cast into Gehenna. ^{46 47} And if your eye should cause you to stumble, cast it out; it is better for you to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes, to be cast into Gehenna, ⁴⁸ where ‘their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.’ ⁴⁹ For everyone will be salted with fire.

⁸ Therefore produce fruits worthy of repentance. And do not begin to say in yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.

³⁰ And he said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if one from the dead should go to them, they will repent.’

¹⁰ Jesus answered and said to her, “If you had known the gift of God and who it is saying to you, ‘Give Me to drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given to you living water.”

¹⁴ but whoever may drink of the water that I will give him will never thirst, to the age. Instead, the water that I will give to him will become in him a spring of water, welling up into eternal life.”

³⁷ Now in the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.

³³ They answered unto Him, “We are Abraham’s seed, and to no one ever have we been under bondage. How do You say, ‘You will become free’?” ³⁴ Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you that everyone practicing the sin is a slave of the sin. ³⁵ Now the slave does not abide in the house to the age; the son abides to the age. ³⁶ So if the Son shall set you free, you will be free indeed. ³⁷ I know that you are Abraham’s seed; but you seek to kill Me because My word receives no place in you. ³⁸ I speak that which I have seen with the Father; therefore you also do what you have heard from your father.” ³⁹ They answered and said to Him, “Abraham is our father.” Jesus says to them, “If you were children of Abraham, you would do the works of Abraham.

⁵³ Are You greater than our father Abraham, who died? And the prophets died! Whom do You make yourself?” ⁵⁴ Jesus answered, “If I glorify Myself, My glory is nothing; it is My Father glorifying Me, of whom you say, ‘He is our God.’ ⁵⁵ And you have not known Him, but I know Him. And if I say that I do not know Him, I will be a liar like you. But I know Him, and I keep His word. ⁵⁶ Abraham your father rejoiced in that he should see My day—and he saw it and rejoiced.”

¹² and the father of circumcision to those not only of circumcision, but also to those walking in the steps of the faith of our father Abraham during uncircumcision.

⁷ Nor because they are seed of Abraham are all children. Rather, “In Isaac your offspring will be named.” ⁸ That is, the children of the flesh, these are not children of God; but the children of the promise are regarded as offspring.

⁸ in a fire of flame, inflicting vengeance on those not knowing God and on those not obeying the gospel of our Lord Jesus,

¹³ For judgment without mercy will be to the one not having shown mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

⁶ The tongue also is a fire, the world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, defiling all the body, and setting on fire the course of nature, and itself being set on fire by Gehenna.

¹⁶ they will not hunger any more, neither will they thirst anymore, nor shall the sun at all fall upon them, nor any scorching heat; ¹⁷ because the Lamb in the center of the throne will shepherd them, and He will lead them to fountains living of waters, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’”

²⁰ And the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet, the one having done the signs before him, by which he deceived those having received the mark of the beast and those worshiping its image. The two were cast living into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.

¹⁵ And if anyone was not found having been written in the book of life, he was cast into the lake of fire.

¹ And he showed me a river of water of life, clear as crystal, flowing out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

⁴⁵ And if your foot should cause you to stumble, cut it off; it is better for you to enter into life lame, than having the two feet, to be cast into Gehenna.

²⁴ But woe to you who are rich, for you are receiving your comfort.

²³ And in Hades, having lifted up his eyes, being in torment, he sees Abraham from afar, and Lazarus in his bosom.

³³ I have spoken these things to you so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation. But take courage; I have overcome the world.”

²² strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith and that “through many tribulations it behooves us to enter into the kingdom of God.”

⁷ because the mind of the flesh is hostility toward God; for it is not subject to the Law of God, for not even can it be.

³ that no one be moved in these tribulations. For you yourselves know that we are destined for this.

²⁵ having chosen to suffer affliction with the people of God, rather than to have the fleeting enjoyment of sin,

¹⁵ Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone should love the world, the love of the Father is not in him,

¹⁴ And I said to him, “My lord, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

⁴⁶ And these will go away into eternal punishment; but the righteous into eternal life.”

⁵⁹ I say to you, you shall never come out from there until you shall have paid even the last lepton.”

³⁶ The one believing in the Son has eternal life, but the one not obeying the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

⁴ so as for us ourselves to boast in you in the churches of God about your endurance and faith in all your persecutions, and in the tribulations that you are bearing. ⁵ This is a plain token of the righteous judgment of God, for you to be accounted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which also you suffer. ⁶ For indeed it is righteous with God to repay those oppressing you with affliction, ⁷ and to you being oppressed, repose with us at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven, with His mighty angels, ⁸ in a fire of flame, inflicting vengeance on those not knowing God and on those not obeying the gospel of our Lord Jesus, ⁹ who will suffer the penalty of eternal destruction away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, ¹⁰ when in that day He shall come to be glorified in His saints, and to be marveled at among all those having believed because our testimony to you was believed, ¹¹ For the sun has risen with its burning heat and withered the grass, and its flower has fallen, and the beauty of its appearance has perished. Thus also the rich man will fade away in the midst of his pursuits. ¹² Blessed is the man who endures trial, because, having been approved, he will receive the crown of life that He has promised to those loving Him.

Behold, the farmer awaits the precious fruit of the earth, being patient for it until it receives the early and latter rains.

¹¹ The one being unrighteous, let him be unrighteous still; and he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; and he who is righteous, let him practice righteousness still; and he who is holy, let him be holy still.”

⁴⁰ And he earnestly testified many other words and was exhorting them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.”

²³ except that the Holy Spirit fully testifies to me in every city, saying that chains and tribulations await me.

⁶ not to go beyond and to overreach his brother in the matter, because the Lord is avenging concerning all these things, just as also we told you before and thoroughly warned.

¹⁷ And the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to Him, and having unrolled the scroll, He found the place where it was written:

¹⁶ The Law and the prophets were until John. From that time the kingdom of God is proclaimed, and everyone forces his way into it.

²⁷ And having begun from Moses and from all the Prophets, He interpreted to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.

³⁹ You diligently search the Scriptures because you think to have eternal life in them, and these are they bearing witness concerning Me; ⁴⁰ and you are not willing to come to Me, that you may have life. ⁴¹ I do not take glory from men, ⁴² but I have known you, that you do not have the love of God in yourselves. ⁴³ I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another should come in the own name, you will receive him. ⁴⁴ How are you able to believe, receiving glory from one another, and you do not seek the glory that is from the only God? ⁴⁵ Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father. There is one accusing you: Moses, in whom you have hoped. ⁴⁶ For if you were believing Moses, you would have believed Me; for he wrote concerning Me. ⁴⁷ And unless you believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”

²¹ For Moses has ones proclaiming him in every city from generations of old, being read in the synagogues on every Sabbath.”

¹¹ Now these, who were more noble than those in Thessalonica, received the word with all readiness, on every day examining the Scriptures, whether these things were so. ¹² Therefore many of them indeed believed, and not a few of the prominent Grecian women and men.

¹⁵ and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings, being able to make you wise unto salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. ¹⁶ Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for instruction, for conviction, for correction, and for training in righteousness, ¹⁷ so that the man of God may be complete, having been fully equipped toward every good work.

¹⁹ And we have the more certain prophetic word, to which you do well taking heed, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until this day shall have dawned and the morning star shall have arisen in your hearts, ²⁰ knowing this first, that any prophecy of Scripture is not of its own interpretation. ²¹ For no prophecy at any time was brought by the will of man, but men spoke from God, being carried by the Holy Spirit.

³ No, I say to you; but unless you repent, you will all perish likewise.

⁵ No, I say to you; but unless you repent, you will all perish likewise.”

²⁴ And having cried out, he said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus, that he might dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am suffering in this flame.’

⁹ And the men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God, the One having authority over these plagues; and they did not repent to give Him glory. ¹⁰ And the fifth poured out his bowl upon the throne of the beast, and its kingdom became darkened, and they were gnawing their tongues for the distress, ¹¹ and they blasphemed the God of heaven on account of their distresses, and on account of their sores; and they did not repent of their deeds.

⁴³ And having said these things, He cried out in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!” ⁴⁴ The one having been dead came forth, the feet and hands being bound with linen strips, and his face bound about with a soudarion. Jesus says to them, “Unbind him and allow him to go.” ⁴⁵ Therefore many of the Jews having come to Mary, and having seen what He did, believed in Him. ⁴⁶ But some of them went to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done. ⁴⁷ Therefore the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered a council and were saying, “What are we to do? For this man does many signs. ⁴⁸ If we shall let Him alone like this, all will believe in Him, and the Romans will come and will take away both our place and nation.” ⁴⁹ But a certain one of them, Caiaphas, being high priest the same year, said to them, “You know nothing at all, ⁵⁰ nor do you consider that it is profitable for you that one man should die for the people, and the whole nation should not perish.” ⁵¹ Now he did not say this from himself, but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus was about to die for the nation, ⁵² and not for the nation only, but also that children of God, those having been scattered, He might gather together into one. ⁵³ So from that day, they took counsel together that they might kill Him.

¹⁰ But the chief priests took counsel, that they might kill Lazarus also, ¹¹ because on account of him many of the Jews were going away and were believing in Jesus.

⁸ And having entered into the synagogue, he was speaking boldly for three months, reasoning and persuading them concerning the kingdom of God.

²⁸ Then Agrippa said to Paul, “Within so little time do you persuade me to become a Christian?”

²³ Then having appointed him a day, many came to him to the lodging, to whom he expounded from morning to evening, fully testifying to the kingdom of God and persuading them concerning Jesus from both the Law of Moses and the Prophets.

³ But if indeed our gospel is concealed, it is concealed to those who are perishing,

¹¹ Therefore knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade men. And we have been made manifest to God, and I hope to have been made manifest in your consciences also.
