³⁸ But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins.

¹⁷ Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away; behold, the new has come into being.

⁴ even because of the false brothers brought in secretly, who came in by stealth to spy out our freedom which we have in Christ Jesus that they will enslave us,

¹² For before certain ones came from James, he had been eating with the Gentiles. But when they came, he was drawing back and was separating himself, being afraid of those of the circumcision. ¹³ And also the rest of the Jews acted hypocritically with him, so that, by their hypocrisy, even Barnabas was carried away. ¹⁴ But when I saw that they are not walking in line according to the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before all, “If you being a Jew live like a Gentile, and not like a Jew, why do you compel the Gentiles to Judaize?

⁹ But now, having known God, but rather having been known by God, how do you turn again to the weak and destitute principles, to which you desire to be enslaved again anew? ¹⁰ You observe days and months and seasons and years. ¹¹ I fear for you, lest perhaps I have toiled for you in vain.

¹ In freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, therefore and do not be entangled again in a yoke of slavery! ² Behold, I Paul say to you that if you shall become circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing. ³ Now again I testify to every man receiving circumcision that he is a debtor to keep the whole Law. ⁴ Whoever are being justified in the Law, you are severed from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. ⁵ For through the Spirit, by faith, we eagerly await the hope of righteousness. ⁶ For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any power, but only faith working through love.

¹³ For not even those being circumcised keep the Law themselves, but they desire you to be circumcised so that they may boast in your flesh. ¹⁴ But for me, may it be never to boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me and I to the world.

⁵ circumcision on the eighth day; of the nation of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin; a Hebrew of Hebrews; according to the Law, a Pharisee; ⁶ according to zeal, persecuting the church; according to righteousness in the Law, having become faultless. ⁷ But whatever things were gain to me, these I have esteemed loss because of Christ.

¹⁹ and not holding fast to the head, from whom the whole body, being supplied and being knit together by the joints and ligaments, increases with the increase of God. ²⁰ If you have died with Christ, away from the principles of the world, why as if living in the world do you submit to decrees: ²¹ “You should not handle! You should not taste! You should not touch!”?— ²² which are all unto decay with the use, according to the precepts and teachings of men, ²³ which having indeed an appearance of wisdom in self-imposed worship and humility and harsh treatment of the body, are not of any value against the indulgence of the flesh.

⁸ For bodily exercise is of a little profit, but godliness is profitable for everything, holding the promise of the present life and of the one coming.

⁸ For finding fault with them, He says: “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, and I will ratify a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, ⁹ not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers, in the day of My having taken hold of their hand, to lead them out of the land of Egypt, because they did not continue in My covenant, and I disregarded them, says the Lord. ¹⁰ For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord, putting My Laws into their mind, and I will inscribe them upon their hearts; and I will be to them God, and they will be to Me for a people. ¹¹ And they shall not teach, each his neighbor, and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ because all will know Me, from the least of them to the greatest, ¹² because I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I shall remember their sins no more. ¹³ In saying, “new,” He has made obsolete the first; and that which is growing old and aging is near vanishing.

⁹ Do not be carried away by various and strange teachings; for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, in which those being devoted were not profited. ¹⁰ We have an altar from which those serving in the tabernacle have no authority to eat.

⁵ And the One sitting on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He says, “Write this, because these words are faithful and true.”
