¹ And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these words, He withdrew from Galilee and came to the region of Judea, beyond the Jordan. ² And great crowds followed Him, and He healed them there. ³ And Pharisees came to Him, testing Him and saying, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for every cause?” ⁴ And answering He said, “Have you not read that the One having created from the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ ⁵ and said, ‘On account of this a man will leave the father and mother and be joined with his wife, and the two will become into one flesh’?— ⁶ so that they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God united together, let man not separate.” ⁷ They say to Him, “Why then did Moses command to give a roll of divorce and to send her away?” ⁸ He says to them, “In view of your hardness of heart, Moses allowed you to divorce your wives; but it was not this way from the beginning. ⁹ And I say to you that whoever shall divorce his wife except for sexual immorality, and shall marry another, commits adultery.” ¹⁰ His disciples say to Him, “If this is the case of the man with the wife, it is better not to marry.” ¹¹ And He said to them, “Not all receive this word, but only those to whom it has been given. ¹² For there are eunuchs who were born thus from their mother’s womb, and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of the heavens. The one being able to receive it, let him receive it.” ¹³ Then little children were brought to Him, that He might lay the hands on them, and might pray. But the disciples rebuked them. ¹⁴ But Jesus said, “Permit the little children, and do not forbid them to come to Me, for of such is the kingdom of the heavens.” ¹⁵ And having laid the hands upon them, He departed from there. ¹⁶ And behold, one having come to Him said, “Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I might have eternal life?” ¹⁷ And He said to him, “Why do you ask Me about what is good? Only One is good. But if you desire to enter into life, keep the commandments.” ¹⁸ He says to Him, “Which?” And Jesus said, “‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not bear false witness, ¹⁹ you shall honor the father and mother, and you shall love your neighbor as yourself.’” ²⁰ The young man says to him, “All these things I have kept. What do I still lack?” ²¹ Jesus was saying to him, “If you desire to be perfect, go, sell what you are possessing, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in the heavens; and come, follow Me.” ²² And having heard this statement, the young man went away grieving; for he was one having many possessions. ²³ And Jesus said His to disciples, “Truly I say to you that with difficulty a rich man will enter into the kingdom of the heavens. ²⁴ And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.” ²⁵ And the disciples having heard were exceedingly astonished, saying, “Who then is able to be saved?” ²⁶ And Jesus having looked on them, said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” ²⁷ Then Peter answering said to Him, “Behold, we left all things and followed You; what then will be to us?” ²⁸ And Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man shall sit down upon His throne of glory, you having followed Me, you also will sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. ²⁹ And everyone who has left houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for the sake of My name, will receive a hundredfold, and will inherit eternal life. ³⁰ But many who are first will be last, and the last first.

¹ And from there having risen up, He comes into the region of Judea, and beyond the Jordan. And again crowds come together to Him, and again, as He had been accustomed, He was teaching them. ² And the Pharisees, having approached, were demanding of Him if it is lawful for a husband to divorce a wife, testing Him. ³ And He answering said to them, “What did Moses command you?” ⁴ And they said, “Moses permitted to write a roll of divorce, and to send her away.” ⁵ But Jesus said to them, “He wrote this commandment for you because of your hardness of heart; ⁶ but from the beginning of creation, ‘He made them male and female.’ ⁷ ‘On account of this, a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, ⁸ and the two will be for one flesh.’ Therefore they are no longer two, but one flesh. ⁹ Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.” ¹⁰ And in the house again, the disciples were asking Him concerning this. ¹¹ And He says to them, “Whoever shall divorce his wife, and shall marry another, commits adultery against her. ¹² And if a woman, having divorced her husband, should marry another, she commits adultery.”

⁴⁰ And He departed again beyond the Jordan, to the place where John was baptizing at first. And He stayed there.

²³ And He was going throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people. ²⁴ And the news of Him went out into all Syria. And they brought to Him all the sick having various diseases and oppressing pains, and being possessed by demons, and having seizures, and paralytics—and He healed them. ²⁵ And there followed Him great crowds from Galilee, and the Decapolis, and Jerusalem, and Judea, and beyond the Jordan.

³⁵ And Jesus was going throughout all the cities and the villages, teaching in their synagogues, and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness. ³⁶ And having seen the crowds, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were wearied and cast away, as sheep not having a shepherd.

¹⁵ And Jesus having known, withdrew from there. And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all,

³⁵ And the men of that place having recognized Him, sent to all that surrounding region, and brought to Him all those being sick, ³⁶ and were begging Him that only they might touch the fringe of His garment, and as many as touched were cured.

³⁰ And great crowds came to Him, having with them the lame, crippled, blind, mute, and many others. And they placed them at His feet, and He healed them, ³¹ so that the crowd marveled, seeing the mute speaking, the crippled restored, and the lame walking, and the blind seeing. And they glorified the God of Israel.

⁵⁵ they ran through all that country, and they began to carry about on mats those being sick to wherever they were hearing that He is. ⁵⁶ And wherever He entered into villages or into cities or into fields, they were laying the ailing in the marketplaces and were begging Him that only they might touch the fringe of His clothing; and as many as touched Him were being healed.

³¹ It was also said, ‘Whoever shall divorce his wife, let him give her a letter of divorce.’ ³² But I say to you that everyone divorcing his wife, except on account of sexual immorality, causes her to commit adultery. And whoever shall marry her who has been divorced commits adultery.

¹ And the Pharisees and Sadducees having approached testing Him, asked Him to show them a sign out of heaven.

¹⁶ And they send their disciples to Him, with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that You are true, and You teach the way of God in the truth, and to You there is care about no one, for You do not look on the appearance of men. ¹⁷ Therefore tell us, what do You think? Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?” ¹⁸ But having known their malice, Jesus said, “Hypocrites, why do you test Me?

³⁵ And one of them, a lawyer, questioned Him, testing Him,

² And the Pharisees, having approached, were demanding of Him if it is lawful for a husband to divorce a wife, testing Him.

¹³ And they send some of the Pharisees and Herodians to Him, that they might catch Him in discourse.

¹⁵ And knowing their hypocrisy, He said to them, “Why do you test Me? Bring Me a denarius, that I might see it.”

⁵³ Of Him having gone forth from there, the scribes and the Pharisees began urgently to press upon Him and to make Him speak about many things, ⁵⁴ watching to catch Him in something out of his mouth.

⁶ Now they were saying this testing Him, so that they might have grounds to accuse Him. But Jesus, having stooped down, began writing with His finger on the ground.

⁹ where forty years your fathers tried Me by testing and saw My works.

³ And He said to them, “Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, and those with him—

⁶ And the disciples having gone and having done as Jesus commanded them,

⁴² Jesus says to them, “Did you never read in the Scriptures: ‘The stone that those building rejected, this has become the chief corner. This was from the Lord, and it is marvelous in our eyes’?

³¹ And concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read that which has been spoken to you by God, saying,

²⁵ And He said to them, “Did you never read what David did when he had need, and he and those with him hungered—

¹⁰ Have you not even read this Scripture: ‘The stone which those building rejected, this has become the chief corner;

²⁶ And concerning the dead, that they rise, have you not read in the book of Moses on the bush, how God spoke to him, saying, ‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’?

³ And Jesus answering, said to them, “Not even have you read this, that which David did when he himself was hungry, and those who were with him:

²⁶ And He said to him, “What has been written in the Law? How do you read it?”

⁵ But Jesus said to them, “He wrote this commandment for you because of your hardness of heart; ⁶ but from the beginning of creation, ‘He made them male and female.’ ⁷ ‘On account of this, a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, ⁸ and the two will be for one flesh.’ Therefore they are no longer two, but one flesh. ⁹ Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.”

⁹ Let love be unfeigned: abhorring evil, cleaving to good,

¹⁶ Or do you not know that the one being joined to the prostitute is one body? For it says, “The two will become into one flesh.”

² But because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have the own husband.

⁴ The wife does not have authority over the own body, but the husband; and likewise also, the husband does not have authority over the own body, but the wife.

³¹ “Because of this, a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two will be into one flesh.”

⁹ Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.”

² For the married woman is bound by law to the living husband; but if the husband should die, she is cleared from the law of the husband.

¹⁰ Now to those having married I give this charge (not I, but the Lord): A wife is not to be separated from a husband. ¹¹ But if indeed she is separated, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to the husband; and a husband is not to send away a wife. ¹² Now to the rest I say (I, not the Lord): If any brother has an unbelieving wife and she consents to dwell with him, let him not divorce her. ¹³ And if any woman has an unbelieving husband, and he consents to dwell with her, let her not divorce the husband. ¹⁴ For the unbelieving husband is sanctified in the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified in the husband. Otherwise, your children are unclean; but now they are holy.

²⁸ So also husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. The one loving his wife loves himself.

⁴ Let marriage be honorable in all, and the marriage bed undefiled; for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.

¹⁹ Then Joseph her husband, being righteous and not willing to shame her publicly, resolved to divorce her quietly.

³¹ It was also said, ‘Whoever shall divorce his wife, let him give her a letter of divorce.’

⁴ And they said, “Moses permitted to write a roll of divorce, and to send her away.”

¹⁵ But Jesus answering, said unto him, “Permit it presently; for thus it is fitting to us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he permits Him.

³¹ And the demons were begging Him, saying, “If You cast us out, send us away into the herd of pigs.”

⁵ But Jesus said to them, “He wrote this commandment for you because of your hardness of heart;

⁶ Now I say this by way of concession, not by way of command.

³² But I say to you that everyone divorcing his wife, except on account of sexual immorality, causes her to commit adultery. And whoever shall marry her who has been divorced commits adultery.

¹⁸ Everyone putting away his wife and marrying another commits adultery. And the one marrying her put away from a husband commits adultery.

² For the married woman is bound by law to the living husband; but if the husband should die, she is cleared from the law of the husband. ³ So then, if she is to another man, the husband being alive, she will be called an adulteress; but if the husband should die, she is free from the law, so as for her not to be an adulteress, having been to another man.

¹ Sexual immorality is actually reported among you, and sexual immorality such as is not even among the pagans, so as for one to have the wife of the father.

¹⁰ Now to those having married I give this charge (not I, but the Lord): A wife is not to be separated from a husband. ¹¹ But if indeed she is separated, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to the husband; and a husband is not to send away a wife. ¹² Now to the rest I say (I, not the Lord): If any brother has an unbelieving wife and she consents to dwell with him, let him not divorce her. ¹³ And if any woman has an unbelieving husband, and he consents to dwell with her, let her not divorce the husband.

³⁹ A wife is bound for as long a time as her husband may live; but if the husband shall have died, she is free to be married to whom she wills, only in the Lord.

¹ Now concerning the things about which you wrote: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. ² But because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have the own husband.

⁸ Now I say to the unmarried and to the widows, it is good for them if they should remain as even I.

²⁶ Therefore I think this is good, because of the present necessity, that it is good for a man to remain in the same manner. ²⁷ Have you been bound to a wife? Do not seek to be loosed. Have you been loosed from a wife? Do not seek a wife. ²⁸ But if also you shall have married, you did not sin; and if the virgin shall have married, she did not sin. But such will have tribulation in the flesh, and I am sparing you.

³² And I desire you to be without concern. The unmarried man cares for the things of the Lord, how he should please the Lord; ³³ but the one having been married cares for the things of the world, how he should please the wife, ³⁴ and is divided. And the unmarried woman and virgin cares for the things of the Lord, that she should be holy both in body and in spirit; but the one having been married cares for the things of the world, how she should please the husband. ³⁵ Now I say this for your own benefit, not that I might place upon you a restraint, but for what is seemly and devoted to the Lord, without distraction.

³⁹ A wife is bound for as long a time as her husband may live; but if the husband shall have died, she is free to be married to whom she wills, only in the Lord. ⁴⁰ But she is more blessed if she should remain in the same manner, according to my judgment; and I think myself also to have the Spirit of God.

³ forbidding to marry, commanding to abstain from foods that God created for reception with thanksgiving by the faithful and those knowing the truth.

¹¹ But refuse younger widows; for when they might grow wanton against Christ, they desire to marry, ¹² incurring judgment, because they have cast off the first faith. ¹³ And at the same time also, going about house to house, they learn to be idle; and not only idle, but also gossips and busybodies, speaking things not being proper. ¹⁴ Therefore I want the younger ones to marry, to bear children, to manage their households, to give the one opposing no occasion on account of reproach. ¹⁵ For already some have turned aside after Satan.

¹¹ And answering He said to them, “Because it has been granted to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of the heavens, but to them it has not been granted.

⁷ And I wish all men to be even like myself. But each has his own gift from God; for one has this, but one that. ⁸ Now I say to the unmarried and to the widows, it is good for them if they should remain as even I. ⁹ But if they do not have self-control, let them marry; for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.

¹⁷ Nevertheless, as the Lord has assigned to each, as God has called to each, so let him walk. And thus I prescribe in all the churches.

³⁵ Now I say this for your own benefit, not that I might place upon you a restraint, but for what is seemly and devoted to the Lord, without distraction.

³² And I desire you to be without concern. The unmarried man cares for the things of the Lord, how he should please the Lord; ³³ but the one having been married cares for the things of the world, how he should please the wife, ³⁴ and is divided. And the unmarried woman and virgin cares for the things of the Lord, that she should be holy both in body and in spirit; but the one having been married cares for the things of the world, how she should please the husband. ³⁵ Now I say this for your own benefit, not that I might place upon you a restraint, but for what is seemly and devoted to the Lord, without distraction. ³⁶ But if anyone supposes to be behaving improperly to his virgin, if she is beyond youth, and it ought to be so, let him do what he wills; he does not sin; let them marry. ³⁷ But he who stands firm in his heart, not having necessity, but having authority over the own will, and has judged this in the own heart, to keep his virgin, he will do well. ³⁸ So then also, the one marrying the own virgin does well, and the one not marrying will do better.

⁵ Have we no authority to take about a believer as a wife, as also the other apostles, and the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas?

¹⁵ But I have not used any of these. And neither have I written these things that it should be thus with me; for it would be better to me to die, rather than that anyone will make void my boasting.

²² And Peter having taken Him aside, began to rebuke Him, saying, “Far be it from You, Lord! This never will be to You!”

² And having summoned a child, He set it in their midst, ³ and said, “Truly I say to you, if you are not converted and become as the little children, you shall never enter into the kingdom of the heavens. ⁴ Therefore whoever will humble himself as this little child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of the heavens. ⁵ And whoever shall receive one such little child in My name, receives Me.

³¹ And the crowd rebuked them that they should be silent. But they cried out all the more, saying, “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!”

¹³ And they were bringing little children to Him, that He might touch them. But the disciples rebuked them. ¹⁴ And having seen, Jesus was indignant and said to them, “Permit the little children to come to Me; do not hinder them! For to such belongs the kingdom of God. ¹⁵ Truly I say to you, whoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a child shall never enter into it.” ¹⁶ And having taken them in arms, He was blessing them, having laid the hands on them.

⁴⁹ And John answering said, “Master, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we were forbidding him, because he does not follow with us.” ⁵⁰ And Jesus said to him, “Do not forbid it; for whoever is not against us is for us.”

⁵⁴ And the disciples James and John having seen it, said, “Lord, will You that we should call fire to come down from heaven and to consume them?” ⁵⁵ And having turned, He rebuked them,

¹⁵ And they were bringing the infants also to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples having seen, were rebuking them. ¹⁶ But Jesus, having called them to Him, said, “Permit the little children to come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of the such is the kingdom of God. ¹⁷ Truly I say to you, whoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a child, shall not at all enter into it.”

³⁹ For the promise is to you and to your children and to all those at a distance, as many as the Lord our God shall call to Himself.”

¹⁴ For the unbelieving husband is sanctified in the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified in the husband. Otherwise, your children are unclean; but now they are holy.

²⁵ At that time, Jesus answering said, “I fully consent to You, Father, Lord of the heaven and the earth, that You did hide these things from the wise and learned, and did reveal them to little children.

³ and said, “Truly I say to you, if you are not converted and become as the little children, you shall never enter into the kingdom of the heavens.

¹⁴ And having seen, Jesus was indignant and said to them, “Permit the little children to come to Me; do not hinder them! For to such belongs the kingdom of God.

²⁰ Brothers, do not be children in the minds. Yet in the evil, be little children; but in the thinking, be full grown.

¹ Therefore having put aside all malice, and all deceit, and hypocrisy, and envies, and all evil speakings, ² like newborn babies, crave pure reasonable milk, so that by it you may grow up in respect to salvation,

¹⁶ And having taken them in arms, He was blessing them, having laid the hands on them.

¹⁵ and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings, being able to make you wise unto salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

¹⁷ And He said to him, “Why do you ask Me about what is good? Only One is good. But if you desire to enter into life, keep the commandments.” ¹⁸ He says to Him, “Which?” And Jesus said, “‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not bear false witness,

²⁶ And Jesus having looked on them, said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

²⁹ And everyone who has left houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for the sake of My name, will receive a hundredfold, and will inherit eternal life.

⁴⁶ And these will go away into eternal punishment; but the righteous into eternal life.”

¹⁷ And going forth on His journey, one having run up and having knelt down to Him, was asking Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do that I might inherit eternal life?” ¹⁸ And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good, except God alone. ¹⁹ You know the commandments: ‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not bear false witness, you shall not defraud, you shall honor your father and mother.’” ²⁰ And he was saying to Him, “Teacher, all these I have kept from my youth.” ²¹ And Jesus, having looked upon him, loved him and said to him, “One thing to you is lacking: Go, sell as much as you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” ²² And having been sad at the word, he went away grieving; for he was one having many possessions. ²³ And Jesus having looked around, says to His disciples, “How difficultly those having riches will enter into the kingdom of God!” ²⁴ And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answering says to them again, “Children, how difficult it is to enter into the kingdom of God! ²⁵ It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of the needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.” ²⁶ And they were exceedingly astonished, saying among themselves, “Then who is able to be saved?” ²⁷ Having looked on them, Jesus says, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.” ²⁸ Peter began to say to Him, “Behold, we have left all and followed You.” ²⁹ Jesus was saying, “Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or mother, or father, or children, or lands for My sake and because of the gospel, ³⁰ who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age which is coming, eternal life.

²⁵ And behold, a certain lawyer stood up, testing Him, saying, “Teacher, what having done, will I inherit eternal life?” ²⁶ And He said to him, “What has been written in the Law? How do you read it?” ²⁷ And answering, he said, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind’ and ‘Your neighbor as yourself.’” ²⁸ And He said to him, “You have answered correctly. Do this and you will live.”

¹⁸ And a certain ruler asked Him, saying, “Good Teacher, having done what, will I inherit eternal life?” ¹⁹ And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good, except God alone. ²⁰ You know the commandments: ‘You shall not commit adultery, you shall not murder, you shall not steal, you shall not bear false witness, you shall honor your father and mother.’” ²¹ And he said, “All these have I kept from my youth.” ²² And having heard, Jesus said to him, “To you, yet one thing is lacking: Sell all, as much as you have, and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in the heavens; and come, follow Me.” ²³ And having heard these things, he became very sorrowful; for he was extremely rich. ²⁴ And having seen him, Jesus became sorrowful, saying, “How difficultly those having riches shall enter into the kingdom of God. ²⁵ For it is easier for a camel to go through an eye of a needle, than a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.” ²⁶ And those having heard said, “Then who is able to be saved?” ²⁷ But He said, “The things impossible with men are possible with God.” ²⁸ And Peter said, “Behold, we having left the own, followed You.” ²⁹ And He said to them, “Truly I say to you that there is no one who has left house or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God, ³⁰ who shall not receive manifold more in this time—and in the age that is coming, eternal life.”

¹⁵ so that everyone believing in Him may have eternal life.

¹⁴ but whoever may drink of the water that I will give him will never thirst, to the age. Instead, the water that I will give to him will become in him a spring of water, welling up into eternal life.”

³⁹ You diligently search the Scriptures because you think to have eternal life in them, and these are they bearing witness concerning Me;

²⁷ Do not work for the food that is perishing, but for the food enduring unto eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you; for God the Father has sealed Him.” ²⁸ Therefore they said to Him, “What must we do, that we may be doing the works of God?” ²⁹ Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you should believe in Him whom He has sent.”

⁴⁷ Truly, truly, I say to you, the one believing has eternal life.

⁶⁸ Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom will we go? You have the words of eternal life.

²⁸ And I give them eternal life, and never shall they perish to the age, and never will anyone seize them out of My hand.

²⁵ The one loving his life loses it, and the one hating his life in this world will keep it to eternal life.

² As You gave Him authority over all flesh, so that all whom You have given Him, He may give to them eternal life. ³ Now this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.

³⁰ And having brought them out, he was saying, “Sirs, what is necessary of me to do, that I may be saved?”

⁷ to those who indeed with endurance in good work are seeking glory and honor and immortality, eternal life;

²¹ so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness, unto eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

²² But now, having been set free from sin, and having become slaves to God, you have your fruit unto sanctification, and the end is eternal life. ²³ For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹⁶ But because of this I was shown mercy, that in me, the foremost, Christ Jesus might display perfect patience, as a pattern for those being about to believe on Him to eternal life.

¹² Fight the good fight of the faith. Lay hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and also did confess the good confession before many witnesses.

¹⁹ treasuring up for themselves a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is indeed life.

² in the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before time eternal

⁷ so that, having been justified by that grace, we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

² and the life was made manifest, and we have seen and bear witness, and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was revealed to us—

²⁵ And this is the promise that He promised us: eternal life.

¹¹ And this is the testimony: that God has given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. ¹² The one having the Son has life; the one not having the Son of God does not have life. ¹³ I have written these things to you, the ones believing in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.

²⁰ Now we know that the Son of God is come and has given us understanding, so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

²¹ keep yourselves in the love of God, awaiting the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

⁵ For Moses writes of the righteousness that is of the Law that “The man having done these things will live by them.”

¹¹ Now it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law, because “The righteous will live by faith.” ¹² But the Law is not of faith. Rather, “The one having done these things will live by them.” ¹³ Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us—for it has been written: “Cursed is everyone hanging on a tree”—

¹⁷ Every good act of giving and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of shifting.

⁸ The one not loving has not known God, because God is love. ⁹ In this the love of God has been revealed among us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, so that we might live through Him. ¹⁰ In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son as a propitiation for our sins.

¹⁶ And we have come to know and have come to believe the love that God has as to us. God is love, and the one abiding in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

²¹ You have heard that it was said to the ancients, ‘You shall not murder’ and ‘Whoever shall murder will be liable to the judgment.’ ²² But I say to you that everyone being angry with his brother will be liable to the judgment, and whoever shall say to his brother ‘Raca,’ will be liable to the Sanhedrin. But whoever shall say, ‘Fool!’ will be liable to the Gehenna of fire. ²³ Therefore, if you shall offer your gift at the altar, and there shall remember that your brother has something against you, ²⁴ leave your gift there before the altar and first go away, be reconciled to your brother; and then having come, offer your gift. ²⁵ Be agreeing quickly with your accuser while you are on the way with him, lest ever the accuser deliver you to the judge, and the judge to the officer, and you will be cast into prison. ²⁶ Truly I say to you, you shall not come out from there until you should pay the last kodranten! ²⁷ You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ ²⁸ But I say to you that everyone looking upon a woman in order to lust after her already has committed adultery with her in his heart.

¹⁹ You know the commandments: ‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not bear false witness, you shall not defraud, you shall honor your father and mother.’”

²⁰ You know the commandments: ‘You shall not commit adultery, you shall not murder, you shall not steal, you shall not bear false witness, you shall honor your father and mother.’”

⁸ Owe nothing to anyone, except to love one another; for the one loving the other has fulfilled the Law. ⁹ For, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this word, in, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” ¹⁰ Love does not do evil to its neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the Law.

¹⁰ For as many as are of works of the Law are under a curse, for it has been written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue all things having been written in the book of the Law, to do them.”

¹⁰ For whoever shall keep the whole Law, but shall stumble in one point, he has become guilty of all. ¹¹ For the One having said, “You shall not commit adultery,” also said, “You shall not murder.” But if you do not commit adultery, but do commit murder, you have become a transgressor of the Law.

⁴³ You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’

⁴ For God commanded, ‘Honor the Father and mother’ and, ‘The one speaking evil of father or mother, in death must end!’ ⁵ But you say, ‘Whoever shall say to the father or mother, “Whatever you might be profited by me is a gift,” ⁶ he shall not honor his father or his mother.’ And you made void the commandment of God on account of your tradition!

³⁹ And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’

²⁷ And answering, he said, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind’ and ‘Your neighbor as yourself.’”

⁹ For, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this word, in, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

¹⁴ For the entire Law is fulfilled in in this one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

¹ Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ² “Honor your Father and mother,” which is the first commandment with a promise,

⁸ If indeed you keep the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well.

²⁰ And he was saying to Him, “Teacher, all these I have kept from my youth.” ²¹ And Jesus, having looked upon him, loved him and said to him, “One thing to you is lacking: Go, sell as much as you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

⁷ I say to you that in the same way there will be joy in heaven over one sinner repenting, rather than over ninety nine righteous ones who have no need of repentance.

²⁹ And answering, he said to his father, ‘Behold, so many years I serve you, and never did I disobey a commandment of yours; and never did you give to me a young goat, that I might make merry with my friends.

¹¹ The Pharisee having stood, was praying toward himself thus: ‘God, I thank You that I am not like the rest of the men—swindlers, unrighteous, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. ¹² I fast twice in the week; I tithe all things, as many as I gain.’

²¹ And he said, “All these have I kept from my youth.” ²² And having heard, Jesus said to him, “To you, yet one thing is lacking: Sell all, as much as you have, and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in the heavens; and come, follow Me.”

⁷ But as they continued asking Him, having lifted Himself up, also He said to them, “The one sinless among you, let him cast the first stone at her.”

¹⁹ Now we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those under the Law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may be under judgment to God. ²⁰ Therefore by works of the Law, not any flesh will be justified before Him; for through the Law is knowledge of sin. ²¹ But now apart from Law, the righteousness of God has been revealed, being borne witness to by the Law and the Prophets. ²² And the righteousness of God is through faith from Jesus Christ toward all those believing. For there is no distinction, ²³ for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

⁹ And I once was alive apart from Law; but the commandment having come, sin revived, and I died;

²⁴ so that the Law has become our trainer unto Christ, so that we might be justified by faith.

⁶ according to zeal, persecuting the church; according to righteousness in the Law, having become faultless.

¹⁹ And He says to them, “Come follow after Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

¹⁹ Whoever then shall break one of the least of these commandments and shall teach others the same, he will be called least in the kingdom of the heavens; but whoever shall keep and shall teach them, he will be called great in the kingdom of the heavens. ²⁰ For I say to you that unless your righteousness shall abound above that of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall never enter into the kingdom of the heavens.

⁴⁸ You shall be perfect, therefore, as your Heavenly Father is perfect.

¹⁹ Do not store up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. ²⁰ But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroy, and where thieves do not break in nor steal.

²² But Jesus said to him, “Follow Me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead.”

⁹ And Jesus passing on from there saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax booth. And He says to him, “Follow Me.” And having arisen, he followed Him.

²⁴ Then Jesus said His to disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.

²⁸ And Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man shall sit down upon His throne of glory, you having followed Me, you also will sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

¹⁴ And passing on, He saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax booth, and says to him, “Follow Me.” And having arisen, he followed Him.

³⁴ And having summoned the crowd with His disciples, He said to them, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and let him take up his cross, and let him follow Me.

²¹ And Jesus, having looked upon him, loved him and said to him, “One thing to you is lacking: Go, sell as much as you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

²⁷ And after these things He went forth and saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at the tax booth. And He said to him, “Follow Me.”

⁴⁰ A disciple is not above the teacher, and everyone fully trained will be like his teacher.

²³ And He was saying to all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and let him take up his cross every day, and let him follow Me.

³³ Sell your possessions and give alms; make to yourselves purses not growing old, an unfailing treasure in the heavens, where thief does not draw near, nor does moth destroy.

³³ So therefore every one of you who does not give up all that he himself possesses, is not able to be My disciple.

⁹ And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by the mammon of unrighteousness, that when it fails, they might receive you into the eternal dwellings.

²² And having heard, Jesus said to him, “To you, yet one thing is lacking: Sell all, as much as you have, and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in the heavens; and come, follow Me.”

²⁷ My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

²⁶ If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.

⁴⁵ And they were selling the possessions and the goods, and were dividing them to all, as anyone had need.

³² Now the multitude of those having believed were one in heart and soul, and not one claimed anything of that which he possesses to be his own, but all things were theirs in common. ³³ And with great power, the apostles were giving testimony of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and abundant grace was upon them all. ³⁴ For there was not even anyone in need among them, for as many as were owners of lands or houses, selling them, were bringing the proceeds of what is sold, ³⁵ and were laying them at the feet of the apostles, and distribution was made to each as anyone had need.

¹² Not that already I have obtained it or already have been perfected, but I am pursuing, if also I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus. ¹³ Brothers, I do not consider myself to have taken hold of it. But one thing indeed: Forgetting the things behind and reaching forward to the things ahead, ¹⁴ I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward calling of God in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ Therefore as many as are mature should be of this mind. And if you are minded in anything differently, even this God will reveal to you.

¹⁷ Instruct the rich in the present age not to be high-minded, nor to have hope in the uncertainty of riches, but on God, the One richly providing us all things for enjoyment; ¹⁸ to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous in distributing, ready to share, ¹⁹ treasuring up for themselves a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is indeed life.

³⁴ For both you sympathized with the prisoners and you accepted the plundering of your possessions with joy, knowing yourselves to have a better and abiding possession.

²⁴ No one is able to serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and he will love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and he will despise the other. You are not able to serve God and mammon.

²² And the one having been sown among the thorns, this is the one hearing the word, but the care of this present age and the deceit of riches choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

⁹ And the king having been grieved, on account of the oaths and those reclining with him, he commanded it to be given.

²⁶ For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, but loses his soul? Or what will a man give as an exchange for his soul?

²⁶ And the king, having been made very sorrowful, on account of the oaths and those reclining with him, did not want to refuse her.

²² And having been sad at the word, he went away grieving; for he was one having many possessions.

²³ And having heard these things, he became very sorrowful; for he was extremely rich.

¹² Out of this, Pilate was seeking to release Him; but the Jews cried out, saying, “If you release this man, you are not a friend of Caesar. Everyone making himself a king speaks against Caesar.” ¹³ Therefore Pilate, having heard these words, brought Jesus out and sat down upon the judgment seat at a place called The Stone Pavement, and in Hebrew, Gabbatha. ¹⁴ Now it was the Day of Preparation of the Passover; it was about the sixth hour. And he says to the Jews, “Behold your king!” ¹⁵ So they cried out, “Away with Him, away! Crucify Him!” Pilate says to them, “Shall I crucify your King?” The chief priests answered, “We have no king except Caesar.” ¹⁶ So then, he delivered Him to them, that He might be crucified. Therefore they took Jesus.

⁵ For this you know, realizing that any fornicator, or unclean person, or covetous man, who is an idolater, has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

⁵ Therefore put to death the members which are upon the earth: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry,

²⁰ For I say to you that unless your righteousness shall abound above that of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall never enter into the kingdom of the heavens.

³¹ Which of the two did the will of the father?” They say, “The first.” Jesus says to them, “Truly I say to you that the tax collectors and the prostitutes go before you into the kingdom of God.

²³ And Jesus having looked around, says to His disciples, “How difficultly those having riches will enter into the kingdom of God!”

¹⁵ And He said to them, “Beware, and keep yourselves from all covetousness; for not to anyone is his life in the abundance of that which he possesses.” ¹⁶ And He spoke a parable to them, saying, “The ground of a certain rich man brought forth abundantly. ¹⁷ And he was reasoning within himself, saying, ‘What shall I do, for I have nowhere I will store up my fruits?’ ¹⁸ And he said, ‘I will do this: I will tear down my barns, and will build greater ones, and will store up there all my grain and goods. ¹⁹ And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many good things laid up for many years; take your rest; eat, drink, be merry.”’ ²⁰ And God said to him, ‘Fool! This night, your soul is required of you; and what you did prepare—to whom will it be?’ ²¹ So is the one treasuring up for himself, and not being rich toward God.”

¹³ No servant is able to serve two masters. For either he will hate the one and he will love the other, or he will be devoted to one and he will despise the other. You are not able to serve God and mammon.” ¹⁴ Now the Pharisees, being lovers of money, were listening to all these things, and they were ridiculing Him.

¹⁹ And there was a certain rich man, and he was clothed in purple and fine linen, making good cheer in splendor every day. ²⁰ And a certain poor man named Lazarus, being full of sores, was laid at his gate ²¹ and desiring to be fed from that falling from the table of the rich man; but even the dogs, coming, were licking his sores. ²² And it came to pass that the poor man died, and he was carried away by the angels into the bosom of Abraham. And the rich man also died and was buried. ²³ And in Hades, having lifted up his eyes, being in torment, he sees Abraham from afar, and Lazarus in his bosom. ²⁴ And having cried out, he said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus, that he might dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am suffering in this flame.’ ²⁵ And Abraham said, ‘Child, remember that you did fully receive your good things in your lifetime, and Lazarus likewise the evil things. But now he is comforted here, and you are suffering. ²⁶ And besides all these things, a great chasm has been fixed between us and you, so that those desiring to pass from here to you are not able, nor can they pass from there to us.’ ²⁷ And he said, ‘Then I implore you, father, that you would send him to my father’s house— ²⁸ for I have five brothers—so that he might warn them, that they also might not come to this place of torment.’

²⁴ And having seen him, Jesus became sorrowful, saying, “How difficultly those having riches shall enter into the kingdom of God.

³ Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, except anyone be born from above, he is not able to see the kingdom of God.”

⁵ Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless anyone be born of water and of the Spirit, he is not able to enter into the kingdom of God.

²² strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith and that “through many tribulations it behooves us to enter into the kingdom of God.”

²⁶ For consider your calling, brothers, that not many were wise according to the flesh, not many powerful, not many of noble birth.

⁹ But those desiring to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and many foolish and harmful desires, which plunge men into ruin and destruction. ¹⁰ For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils, which some, stretching after, have been seduced away from the faith and have pierced themselves with many sorrows.

⁹ But let the brother of low degree boast in his exaltation, ¹⁰ and he who is rich, in his humiliation, because he will pass away like a flower of grass. ¹¹ For the sun has risen with its burning heat and withered the grass, and its flower has fallen, and the beauty of its appearance has perished. Thus also the rich man will fade away in the midst of his pursuits.

⁶ But you have dishonored the poor. Are not the rich oppressing you and they dragging you into court?

¹ Come now, you rich, weep, wailing over the miseries that are coming upon you. ² Your riches have rotted, and your garments have become moth-eaten. ³ Your gold and silver have corroded, and their rust will be for a testimony against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have treasured up in the last days. ⁴ Behold, the wage of the workmen having harvested your fields, having been kept back by you, cries out, and the cries of those having harvested have entered into the ears of the Lord of Hosts.

²⁴ Blind guides—those straining out the gnat and swallowing the camel!

²⁴ And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answering says to them again, “Children, how difficult it is to enter into the kingdom of God! ²⁵ It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of the needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.”

²⁵ For it is easier for a camel to go through an eye of a needle, than a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.”

⁴⁴ How are you able to believe, receiving glory from one another, and you do not seek the glory that is from the only God?

²² And unless those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved; but because of the elect, those days will be shortened.

²⁰ And if the Lord had not shortened the days, not any flesh would have been saved; but on account of the elect whom He chose, He has shortened the days.

²³ And someone said to Him, “Lord, if those being saved are few?” And He said to them, ²⁴ “Strive to enter in through the narrow door; for many, I say to you, will seek to enter in, and will not be able.

¹³ for, “Whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord will be saved.”

⁵ So then also, in the present time, there has been a remnant according to the election of grace. ⁶ And if by grace, it is no longer from works; otherwise grace no longer would be grace. ⁷ What then? What Israel is seeking, this it has not obtained, but the elect obtained it. And the rest were hardened,

²⁷ Having looked on them, Jesus says, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.”

³⁷ For nothing will be impossible with God.”

²⁷ But He said, “The things impossible with men are possible with God.”

²⁰ And immediately having left the nets, they followed Him. ²¹ And having gone on from there, He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and his brother John, in the boat with their father Zebedee, mending their nets. And He called them, ²² and immediately having left the boat and their father they followed Him.

¹⁰ And the first having come, they thought that they will receive more, but they themselves also received a denarius each. ¹¹ And having received it, they were grumbling against the master of the house, ¹² saying, ‘These the last have worked one hour, and you have made them equal to us, the ones having borne the burden of the day and the scorching heat.’

¹⁷ And Jesus said to them, “Come after Me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.” ¹⁸ And immediately, having left the nets, they followed Him. ¹⁹ And having gone on a little, He saw James the son of Zebedee and his brother John, and they were in the boat mending the nets. ²⁰ And immediately He called them, and having left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants, they went away after Him.

²⁸ Peter began to say to Him, “Behold, we have left all and followed You.”

¹¹ And having brought the boats to the land, having left all, they followed Him.

²⁷ And after these things He went forth and saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at the tax booth. And He said to him, “Follow Me.” ²⁸ And having left all, having arisen, he began to follow Him.

²⁸ And Peter said, “Behold, we having left the own, followed You.”

²⁹ so that all flesh may not boast before God.

⁷ For who makes you any different? And what do you have that you did not receive? And if also you did receive it, why do you boast as not having received it?

⁸ But indeed, therefore, I also count all things to be loss because of the excelling knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, because of whom I have lost all things, and esteem them rubbish, that I may gain Christ

²⁷ For the Son of Man is about to come in the glory His Father, with His angels, and then He will give to each according to his deeds.

²¹ And He said to her, “What do you desire?” She says to Him, “Say that these two sons of mine might sit, one on Your right hand and one on Your left hand, in Your kingdom.”

³¹ And when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit upon His throne of glory.

²⁸ Now you are those having remained with Me in My trials. ²⁹ And I appoint to you a kingdom, as My Father appointed to Me, ³⁰ so that you may eat and may drink at My table in My kingdom, and may sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

²¹ whom indeed it behooves heaven to receive until the times of restoration of all things, of which God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from the age.

² Or do you not know that saints will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you unworthy of the smallest of cases? ³ Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life?

⁷ and to you being oppressed, repose with us at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven, with His mighty angels, ⁸ in a fire of flame, inflicting vengeance on those not knowing God and on those not obeying the gospel of our Lord Jesus, ⁹ who will suffer the penalty of eternal destruction away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, ¹⁰ when in that day He shall come to be glorified in His saints, and to be marveled at among all those having believed because our testimony to you was believed,

¹² if we endure, we will also reign together with Him; if we will deny Him, He also will deny us;

¹³ But according to His promise, we are awaiting new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.

²⁶ And the one overcoming and keeping My works until the end, I will give to him authority over the nations, ²⁷ and he will shepherd them with a rod of iron, as the vessels of the potter are broken in pieces—just as I also have received from My Father.

²¹ The one overcoming, I will give to him to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

⁴ And around the throne were twenty-four thrones; and sitting on the thrones twenty-four elders, having been clothed in white garments; and on their heads, golden crowns.

⁴ And I heard the number of those having been sealed, one hundred forty-four thousand, having been sealed out of every tribe of the sons of Israel:

¹ And a great sign was seen in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars,

⁴ And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given to them, and the souls of those having been beheaded because of the testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who did not worship the beast, nor his image, and did not take the mark upon the forehead, and upon their hand. And they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

¹¹ And I saw a great white throne and the One sitting on it, from whose face the earth and heaven fled, and no place was found for them. ¹² And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the one of life. And the dead were judged out of the things having been written in the books, according to their deeds. ¹³ And the sea gave up the dead who were in it; and death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them; and each of them were judged according to their works. ¹⁴ And death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. ¹⁵ And if anyone was not found having been written in the book of life, he was cast into the lake of fire.

⁵ And the One sitting on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He says, “Write this, because these words are faithful and true.”

¹² having a great and high wall, having twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names having been inscribed which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel. ¹³ On the east were three gates, and on the north three gates, and on the south three gates, and on the west three gates. ¹⁴ And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

² In the middle of its street and of the river, on this side and on that side, was a tree of life, producing twelve fruits, yielding its fruit according to each month; and the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.

¹¹ Blessed are you when they shall insult you and shall persecute you, and lying shall say all kinds of evil against you on account of Me.

³³ But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.

²¹ And another of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, allow me first to go and to bury my father.” ²² But Jesus said to him, “Follow Me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead.”

²² And you will be hated by all on account of My name; but the one having endured to the end, he will be saved.

³⁷ The one loving father or mother above Me is not worthy of Me, and the one loving son or daughter above Me is not worthy of Me. ³⁸ And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.

⁸ And other fell upon the good soil and were yielding fruit—indeed some a hundredfold, and some sixty, and some thirty.

²³ But the one having been sown on the good soil, this is the one hearing the word and understanding, who indeed brings forth fruit and produces—indeed, some a hundredfold, and some sixty, and some thirty.”

²⁵ For whoever might desire to save his life will lose it; but whoever might lose his life on account of Me will find it.

¹⁶ And behold, one having come to Him said, “Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I might have eternal life?”

³⁴ Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, those being blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom having been prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

²² Blessed are you when men shall hate you, and when they shall exclude you, and shall insult you, and shall cast out your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man.

²⁶ “If anyone comes to Me, and does not hate his father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters and yes, even his life, he is not able to be My disciple.

¹⁹ If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world but I chose you out of the world, on account of this, the world hates you.

¹⁶ For I will show to him how much it behooves him to suffer for My name.”

⁹ But as it has been written: “What no eye has seen, and no ear has heard, and has not entered into heart of man, what God has prepared for those loving Him.”

¹⁶ Therefore from now, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have regarded Christ according to flesh, yet now we regard Him thus no longer.

¹⁴ If you are insulted in the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.

⁷ For they went forth on behalf of the name, accepting nothing from the Gentiles.

¹¹ And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and will recline with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of the heavens. ¹² But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into the outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of the teeth.”

¹⁶ Thus the last will be first, and the first, last.”

³¹ Which of the two did the will of the father?” They say, “The first.” Jesus says to them, “Truly I say to you that the tax collectors and the prostitutes go before you into the kingdom of God. ³² For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed him; and you having seen, did not even repent afterward to believe him.

³¹ But many first will be last; and the last, first.”

²⁹ And all the people having heard, even the tax collectors, declared God righteous, having been baptized with the baptism of John. ³⁰ But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected the counsel of God as to themselves, not having been baptized by him.

³⁰ And behold, there are last who will be first, and there are first who will be last.”

¹³ But the tax collector, standing afar off, was not even willing to lift up the eyes to heaven, but was striking his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, the sinner!’ ¹⁴ I say to you, this one went down to his house justified, rather than that. For everyone exalting himself will be humbled; but the one humbling himself will be exalted.”

²⁰ Now the Law entered so that trespass might abound; but where sin abounded, grace overabounded, ²¹ so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness, unto eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

³⁰ What then will we say? That Gentiles, not pursuing righteousness, have attained righteousness, and righteousness that is by faith; ³¹ but Israel, pursuing a law of righteousness, did not attain to that law. ³² Why? Because it was not by faith, but as by works. They stumbled over the stone of stumbling, ³³ as it has been written: “Behold, I lay in Zion a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense; and the one believing on Him will never be put to shame.”

⁷ You were running well. Who hindered you, not to obey the truth?

¹ Therefore, of the promise to enter into His rest left remaining, we should fear, lest ever any of you should seem to have fallen short.
