²⁰ Therefore by works of the Law, not any flesh will be justified before Him; for through the Law is knowledge of sin.

³⁹ And in Him everyone believing is justified from all things from which you were not able to be justified in the Law of Moses.

And indeed, I had not been conscious of covetousness if the Law had not said, “You shall not covet.” ⁸ But sin, having taken an occasion by the commandment, produced in me all covetousness; for apart from the Law, sin is dead. ⁹ And I once was alive apart from Law; but the commandment having come, sin revived, and I died;

³² Why? Because it was not by faith, but as by works. They stumbled over the stone of stumbling,

¹⁶ nevertheless knowing that a man is not justified by works of law, except through faith from Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith from Christ, and not by works of the Law, because by works of the Law not any flesh will be justified.

¹⁹ For through the Law I died to the Law that I might live to God.

¹⁰ For as many as are of works of the Law are under a curse, for it has been written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue all things having been written in the book of the Law, to do them.” ¹¹ Now it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law, because “The righteous will live by faith.” ¹² But the Law is not of faith. Rather, “The one having done these things will live by them.” ¹³ Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us—for it has been written: “Cursed is everyone hanging on a tree”—

⁴ Whoever are being justified in the Law, you are severed from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.

⁸ For by grace you are saved through faith, and this not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, ⁹ not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

⁵ He saved us, not by works in righteousness that we did, but according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, ⁶ whom He poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, ⁷ so that, having been justified by that grace, we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

⁹ But if you show partiality, you are committing sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors. ¹⁰ For whoever shall keep the whole Law, but shall stumble in one point, he has become guilty of all.

²⁰ But do you want to come to know, O foolish man, that faith apart from works is worthless? ²¹ Was not Abraham our father justified by works, having offered his son Isaac upon the altar? ²² You see that his faith was working with his works, and by his works, his faith was perfected. ²³ And the Scripture was fulfilled, saying, “And Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness,” and he was called a friend of God. ²⁴ You see that a man is justified by works, and not by faith alone. ²⁵ And likewise was not Rahab the prostitute also justified by works, having received the messengers and having sent them forth by another way? ²⁶ For just as the body apart from spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.
