⁵ “Go back and tell Hezekiah the leader of My people that this is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: ‘I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears. I will surely heal you. On the third day from now you will go up to the house of the LORD.

²⁶ saying, “If you will listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God, and do what is right in His eyes, and pay attention to His commands, and keep all His statutes, then I will not bring on you any of the diseases I inflicted on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you.”

³⁹ See now that I am He; there is no God besides Me. I bring death and I give life; I wound and I heal, and there is no one who can deliver from My hand.

¹⁴ “Neither,” He replied. “I have now come as Commander of the LORD’s army.” Then Joshua fell facedown in reverence and asked Him, “What does my Lord have to say to His servant?” ¹⁵ The Commander of the LORD’s army replied, “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did so.

¹⁶ “At this time tomorrow I will send you a man from the land of Benjamin, and you are to anoint him leader over My people Israel; he will save them from the hand of the Philistines. For I have looked upon My people, because their cry has come to Me.”

¹ Then Samuel took a flask of oil, poured it on Saul’s head, kissed him, and said, “Has not the LORD anointed you ruler over His inheritance?

² Even in times past, while Saul was king over us, you were the one who led Israel out and brought them back. And to you the LORD said, ‘You will shepherd My people Israel, and you will be ruler over them.’”

³ And Nathan replied to the king, “Go and do all that is in your heart, for the LORD is with you.” ⁴ But that night the word of the LORD came to Nathan, saying, ⁵ “Go and tell My servant David that this is what the LORD says: Are you the one to build for Me a house to dwell in?

²⁰ Then Isaiah son of Amoz sent a message to Hezekiah: “This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: I have heard your prayer concerning Sennacherib king of Assyria.

⁷ Then Isaiah said, “Prepare a poultice of figs.” So they brought it and applied it to the boil, and Hezekiah recovered. ⁸ Now Hezekiah had asked Isaiah, “What will be the sign that the LORD will heal me and that I will go up to the house of the LORD on the third day?”

² And Nathan replied to David, “Do all that is in your heart, for God is with you.” ³ But that night the word of God came to Nathan, saying, ⁴ “Go and tell My servant David that this is what the LORD says: You are not the one to build Me a house in which to dwell.

¹² Now behold, God Himself is with us as our head, and His priests with their trumpets sound the battle call against you. O children of Israel, do not fight against the LORD, the God of your fathers, for you will not succeed.”

³ In the eighth year of his reign, while he was still young, Josiah began to seek the God of his father David, and in the twelfth year he began to cleanse Judah and Jerusalem of the high places, the Asherah poles, the carved idols, and the cast images.

¹⁹ A man is also chastened on his bed with pain and constant distress in his bones, ²⁰ so that he detests his bread, and his soul loathes his favorite food. ²¹ His flesh wastes away from sight, and his hidden bones protrude. ²² He draws near to the Pit, and his life to the messengers of death. ²³ Yet if there is a messenger on his side, one mediator in a thousand, to tell a man what is right for him, ²⁴ to be gracious to him and say, ‘Spare him from going down to the Pit; I have found his ransom,’ ²⁵ then his flesh is refreshed like a child’s; he returns to the days of his youth. ²⁶ He prays to God and finds favor; he sees God’s face and shouts for joy, and God restores His righteousness to that man.

¹² Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear to my cry for help; do not be deaf to my weeping. For I am a foreigner dwelling with You, a stranger like all my fathers.

⁸ You have taken account of my wanderings. Put my tears in Your bottle—are they not in Your book?

² O You who listen to prayer, all people will come to You.

¹³ I will enter Your house with burnt offerings; I will fulfill my vows to You— ¹⁴ the vows that my lips promised and my mouth spoke in my distress. ¹⁵ I will offer You fatlings as burnt offerings, with the fragrant smoke of rams; I will offer bulls and goats. Selah

¹⁹ But God has surely heard; He has attended to the sound of my prayer. ²⁰ Blessed be God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld from me His loving devotion!

¹² How can I repay the LORD for all His goodness to me? ¹³ I will lift the cup of salvation and call on the name of the LORD. ¹⁴ I will fulfill my vows to the LORD in the presence of all His people.

¹⁷ I will not die, but I will live and proclaim what the LORD has done. ¹⁸ The LORD disciplined me severely, but He has not given me over to death. ¹⁹ Open to me the gates of righteousness, that I may enter and give thanks to the LORD.

⁵ Those who sow in tears will reap with shouts of joy.

³ He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

⁵ “Go and tell Hezekiah that this is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: ‘I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears. Behold, I will add fifteen years to your life.

²² And Hezekiah had asked, “What will be the sign that I will go up to the house of the LORD?”

³ Incline your ear and come to Me; listen, so that your soul may live. I will make with you an everlasting covenant—My loving devotion promised to David.

³² ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”

¹³ But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zechariah, because your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to give him the name John.

¹⁴ Afterward, Jesus found the man at the temple and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Stop sinning, or something worse may happen to you.”

¹⁰ In bringing many sons to glory, it was fitting for God, for whom and through whom all things exist, to make the author of their salvation perfect through suffering.

¹⁴ Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. ¹⁵ And the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick. The Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.

¹⁷ For the Lamb in the center of the throne will be their shepherd. ‘He will lead them to springs of living water,’ and ‘God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’”
