⁴⁵ But the man went out and openly began to proclaim and spread the news. Consequently, Jesus could no longer enter a town in plain view, but He stayed out in solitary places. Yet people came to Him from every quarter.

¹⁵ So the guards took the money and did as they were instructed. And this account has been circulated among the Jews to this very day.

¹ A few days later Jesus went back to Capernaum. And when the people heard that He was home, ² they gathered in such large numbers that there was no more room, not even outside the door, as Jesus spoke the word to them.

¹⁵ But the news about Jesus spread all the more, and great crowds came to hear Him and to be healed of their sicknesses. ¹⁶ Yet He frequently withdrew to the wilderness to pray. ¹⁷ One day Jesus was teaching, and the Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there. People had come from Jerusalem and from every village of Galilee and Judea, and the power of the Lord was present for Him to heal the sick.
